My daughter woke up and the screen on her phone was black. She couldn't get it to turn on. I searched the internet and the instructions were to do a reboot by pressing the volume up button and the power button at the same. time Nothing happened so we jumped in the car and went to the Telus store that sold us our Iphone13's. The clerk was of no assistance and told us to go to the Apple Store or to Crackerz. We decided to go to Crackerz and I am so happy that we made that decision. Such a positive experience. In mere seconds my daughters phone was working.......it seems the process that I tried to reboot the phone was incorrect. The Crackerz employee's reboot worked. The lovely lady (man I wish I had gotten her name) checked the battery on the phone to ensure it had a good charge as well and how much memory was available. Everything looked great. When I asked how much, I was told no charge. I was so appreciative. I will definitely utilize this business with any future technology challenges. Outstanding service. read more

After researching pricing for a cracked iPad screen, I found I could get it fixed at less than half the cost Crackerz wanted.

This place has ZERO customer service. Sat at an empty display table 3rd person in the store, a lady at the counter and one other gentleman ahead of me. The girl at the counter didn't acknowledge me, I assumed due to her trying to help the customer at the counter. Turns out she was merely having a conversation with an old teacher. A fourth customer came in and was immediately served. The gentleman ahead of me was helped next. Surely she wasn't blind and could see that I had been waiting patiently and out of her way before the other customers that had come in AFTER me.... another person came in after me and again was served, all the while she didn't even acknowledge I was there. I finally got up and left. Prior to going in, I called from work and got a vmail which said no one was there to take the call. I drove by to physically check store hours as sometimes they are listed incorrectly online. I found the place not only to be open, but to have 3 people working, and only 2 customers inside, one waiting, and one being served. If there were a way of giving this less than 1 star I would. Terrible service, which I will be sure to relay to ANYONE looking for a cell phone repair place. read more

my iPhone 7 had audio damaged and they said they could fix it. When I brought it in for repair instead of fixing it they made the problem worse and said they damaged it but it still could be used for everything else but text and cell calls. They told me to take it to apple and see if they could fix it the internet portion that was damaged by them. We took the phone to Apple and they said nothing was working. I've contacted the store twice to get a written answer to what they did but they won't respond. Do not take your phones to this store. I'm sure they can fix things but when they damage or make things worse they won't step to the plate. Next step is BBB and take to the internet to let everyone know. read more

I wanted to buy a smart phone for my wife (she's on a cheap unlimited text plan with no data, from Virgin). We wanted something that could handle easier text entry, and possibly double as an e-reader. A friend had recommended Crackerz, so we went in to check it out. The staff was super-helpful, providing us with some options for our budget and admittedly-odd needs. They outlined the pros and cons of the various used devices they had in stock (Blackberry Bold, iPhone 4s). We settled on the iPhone. They provided good advice and parts for getting the Virgin plan from the old phone (no SIM card) to the new phone. In addition, they threw in the new SIM card, an iPhone charger, and a protective case. Very impressed. Knowledgeable, up-front (about damage to devices, etc.), and great value, with little extras thrown in. My only regret about the whole experience is that now my wife has a better phone than my work-issued BlackBerry 9810... ;) read more

So disappointed with my experience at this store. I brought in my phone with a broken screen but a perfectly fine working home button. After they changed the screen the home button stopped working. They put my cracked screen back on and the home button still wasn't working. Then when I became frustrated that my phone was now in worse condition that what I brought it in they said "I could be lying" which is insulting. They gave me a refund but no compensation for my now more damaged phone that I cannot use and took no responsibility. read more

When Crackerz was first coming into the building, my coworkers and I did not know what to expect. Soon we discovered it was a cell phone servicing location. This was perfect since I needed a phone unlocked so it can be used in other countries. The rate they charged me was compareable as the rates in Richmond, minus the drive. I was expecting to pay $40, but was charged $35+tax. This would have been the exact same rate as locations in Richmond. The one thing I would comment about is time. In Richmond I was able to have a phone unlocked and ready to go in 30 minutes. At Crackerz it was going to take a few hours. However, where in Richmond I had to leave my phone at the store and go back to pick it up, Crackerz would call me with the code I need. Other than that, I received great service. They also provide SIM card cutting too!! read more

I don't remember being told before puchasing a second hand, refurbished iPhone 4 that there would be a $40.00 re-packaging fee if I decided to return it. The phone just stopped charging a couple of days after I got it. I also didn't know that it was too old to install the apps I use. I am really not happy withh Crackerz. I feel that they take advantaage of peoplle who are too trusting and who don't have the where withall to speak up for themselves. read more

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! I went into this location to get a screen replaced and, after being charged $250 for the replacement, the new screen cracked one day later. I went back in to get them to fix it but was met with some BS that I must have broken it myself so it's not their problem. I told them that it wasn't dropped or impacted in any way but they told me there's nothing they can do. The guys at Samsung even say that the screen could have just been defective or have had a hairline fracture before installation that propogated under the install load. At this point I would rather buy a new phone then support this location. read more

The personal at this location are very cold and distant. The young lady that "helped" me was very standoffish to the point that I was not sure if I was not wanted there. Lost my phone in a cab (my fault) and a week later my friend saw it in Crackerz! Which means they obviously have a set up with cabbies to purchase lost phones instead of putting them in the lost and found where they are supposed to be. When asked if I could just unlock it and show him photos of me (this is only 5 days"ish" later), he said he had already wiped the phone. Meaning he bought a phone from someone who couldn't even open it themselves! Refused to return the phone to me even though I could describe the damage to it, AND the fact I had told him how recently the phone was lost and he verified he had bought it within that time frame. I went to Telus to upgrade my Android and maintain my grandfathered package and was told that 1) a free upgrade would alter my plan 2) travel plans were more costly than Rogers & Bell. So I spent a few days looking at the different options offered by those MegaCorps, knowing there was going to be a cash outlay/a new or ammended contract & not one of them offered everything I was looking for. So glad I stumbled on Crackerz. One of the owners was juggling a few customers, listened to what I needed and offered a few options for me to play with while he attended to a revolving door of customers & checking in on me every now and then. I'm not one to be content with not having someone's undivided attention, I was out of my comfort zone but I was convinced he knew his stuff. I thanked him for his time and left to do my homework and returned the next day. He answered all my questions, so I bought a new unlocked Android at a better than fair price that Telus, Rogers or Bell could offer. Set up, files transferred and threw in a screen protecter. Over the last year I've had a couple of service problems, and the staff help me the same, attending to everyone in the store, weird, and when all is said and done I've left the store satisfied beyond my expectations. As for hands-on service, they all seem to know their stuff, no pressure, no BS. If they don't, they bounce it off each other or hit the 'Google Machine'. If it is a better deal for you to go to your service provider, or manufacturer, they'll let you know that too. Nothing wrong with their pricing or shop turnaround. As I mentioned, the juggling of tasks, I witnessed a number of customers - while I was there - who seemed surprised their problems were taken care of on-the-spot...but that sounds presumptuous of me. The people here are way over priced when it comes to fixing cracked screens..a lady quoted me a lower amount on the phone and then when I went in to get it fixed they quoted me $80 dollars more than the original quote. I went to Samsung and they fixed it for $50 dollars less than the original quote. read more

I am really dissapointed with this place. Spoke to mark on Friday regarding apple and android boxes not working. Asked if they were open on Sunday was told yes 11 to 5 so I said I would be there. Got there Sunday at around 130 the place was closed. No note on the door, sign said hours of operaruon were 11 to 5. Tried calling twice, no answer. Left a msg thinking that they would call back and at least apologize but no call. It was a big waste of my time considering I was coming from burnaby. I wan't the only one waiting either. I heard of crackers by word of mouth and checked out their website. The price list for phone unlocks is listed, $40 for an S4 seemed fair so I went to the Langley location to get it done. There was a bit of a lineup, the guy behind the counter was a forty year old hipster who instead of serving customers in the order that they arrive, jumps to the more attractive females first. When I did eventually get his attention I asked him how much to unlock a Samsung S4, says he has to check the price list, he goes to his computer taps the keys a few times.. (big surprise) the price is $50 for a' factory unlock'... So I leave and go to a local competitor where they are friendly and helpful and give me a price of $30 including tax for the same 'factory unlock'. Don't put up with bad service shop around and save some money! read more
