Recently opened after becoming the Cleveland Sharks after the Managerial and Operational Rights of the Cleveland Bowls Club were purchased by the Victoria Point Sharks. As part of the Mughuggers Club which is a few mates that head out to different Cafes and Markets on Sunday mornings for breakfast and a coffee and a chat about what happened through the week. As such, it's been a great way to sample local businesses that open early on a Sunday. This week, we thought we'd give the Crackerjack Cafe a go.
We were surprised at how busy it was at first but we soon realised why. Having a decent carpark next to it,the Cafe attracted a demographic of Cylclists as it was a good place to park to begin and end their journey, dog walkers, members and of course people like us trying Cafes for the first time. The dogs were a bit annoying as a couple of them wouldn't shut up, and the outside area was quite loud with chatter, but it added a nice buzz. We could have chosen to eat inside though if we wanted to avoid these things. There was a bit of a line up to place an order and maybe not quite enough tables outside, but I'm confident they will fix these things over the next few weeks. The staff were friendly and efficient and our meals and coffees came out quite quickly, which was surprising given it was quite busy. Being pigs, we ordered the Big Breakfast, which was great value at $14! If you prefer a smaller breakfast you can get a Basic Breakfast for only $5.95! The Coffee was quite smooth and pleasant but the hero was the breakfast! It was delicious. I've attached a photo so I won't describe it now. All in all we were pleasantly surprised by this Cafe and if they fix up a few minor issues I think it will be a winner. Especially if it keeps its pricing structure the same. read more
