Driving down from Canberra to Melbourne we decided to head for Jindabyne. Had a look for accommodation online and the crackenback farm definitely stood out.
The hosts Julie and Steve are very welcoming. Just a short drive out of jindabyne on the way to threadbo it is a beautiful location and very peaceful.
The property itself is very charming. The room we stayed in had a very comfortable bed and the little touches finished it off quite well. The property also has a sauna and a plunge pool which would be perfect following a day of skiiing.
For dinner we opted to dine in and we're not disappointed. The house made pate was beautifully presented and garnished with onion jam, pickles and pickled cucumber and served with crunchy toast. The portion was plentiful and the taste and texture just perfect.
For main we shared a veal shank. The meat was cooked to perfection and just fell off the bone. The mushroom gravy was also delicious. We shared a bottle of French wine and were so full that although tempted we couldn't manage desert.
The breakfast was also plentiful with a good range of cereals, fresh fruit, juices, toast and cooked breakfast of eggs, bacon, tomatoe and mushrooms.
This place is definitely worth a visit. read more
