I hired Rita Eschmann in February 2020, signed a power of attorney so that she could talk with…read moreIllinois Dept. of Revenue and the IRS and file my 2019 taxes. I hired Rita as I had to be out of the state of Illinois for so many months due to my sister being on a respirator for weeks in the hospital, not in Illinois. My sister did eventually die from COVID19 once she was taken off of the respirator. I had to move my elderly mother back to Illinois in which took me months. Over a year later, I found out that Rita did NOT file my 2019 taxes, did NOT find out why IDOR was sending me back tax letters, and now, she's told me that she has lost my only copy of my 2018 taxes. I did not receive the second stimulus check due to the fact that Rita did NOT do what she was hired to do. I will not receive the third stimulus check either, until my CPA Attorney files my 2019 and now, 2020 taxes. I had to order my 2018 Tax Return Transcript myself as Rita supposedly "lost" my file. She actually told me this over the phone. How does a licensed CPA "lose" your file? They do NOT! My CPA Tax Attorney said that I've been lied to due to the fact that Rita did not do her job and has cost me hundreds of dollars in penalties and fees. I would give her a 0 if I could, but the YELP system makes you pick a 1 instead.

I dropped my business and personal taxes off February 15. On March 1 I began the dailly phone calls, only to find none of them ever returned. On March 15 my business taxes were past due. Still I tried calling everyday. On April 1 I finally got an appointment to meet with him. After waiting for an hour he finally came out only to tell me that he had lost them. He said he would call me as soon as he found them. April 10 came and went with no phone call so on April 15 I went into his office. His receptionist went back there for 20 minutes and comes out to hand me a folder with nothing done. I couldnt believe it 2 months and the coward couldnt even look me in the eye. Never do business with him it will only leave you frustrated and stressed out and he will not even return a phone call!!!
