The Crabmill is one of a chain of gastropubs including the Orange Tree in Chadwick End and Mortons in Dickens Heath. It feels the smallest of the chain, with plenty of tables outside in the summer, but correspondingly restricted numbers of tables in the winter.
The sharing plates are great, and can either be a starter, a main, or a snack, depending on how hungry you are. The mediterranean selection with baba ganoush, hummus, taramasalata, feta, olives and pitta is a great summer option, and the rustic bread with roasted garlic is great at any time. Good to order a few of these for a group.
The mains seem pricier than at other pubs in this chain, coming in between £11-£16, although there is a prix fixe menu available Monday to Friday lunchtimes which has a couple of choices for each course. There wasn't a vegetarian option on this menu when we went, although to be fair, we didn't ask. read more
