Food's great too, with decent portions and great service from what appears to be the entire sixth form of Cromer high school. If the view does begin to bore, nip downstairs to the lifeboat museum. You can simply come into the relaxed atmosphere for a latte, cake and lounge on the sofa, but I'm sure you wouldn't be there for long without wondering which object you'd like to decorate as a gift or for your home. There are shelves full of white unpainted pottery items, ornaments, mugs, plates, bowls, trinket boxes, with prices to fit your pocket. There is a studio fee of £2.99 which covers the materials and firing in the kiln. Once you've chosen your item, the friendly staff will let you know how to begin and if you're lost for ideas, there's a lot of source material to inspire you. The thing I love about being there is the way staff are always there to help the people that need it, yet know when to leave alone. The atmosphere is friendly and customers enjoy watching and chatting to each other too. The disadvantage is that whatever you've created, can't be taken away then and there because everything needs to be put into the kiln and fired. This takes a few days depending on how busy and quickly the kiln is full. I once had an 80th birthday gift that was sent on for me, and actually beat me to my destination in Kent, which shows that staff will go that extra bit to keep their customers happy. Other activities catered for are birthday parties for both old and young, and children's craft groups. Any unfinished work can be continued on another day without any extra studio fee. The cafe is limited to mainly selling drinks and quality cakes.

The cafe was built as a timber construction, with lovely wooden floors, and a decor that was fresh and simple in both colour and design. I found staff friendly, attentive and and the place was kept spotless. I sat on the verandah overlooking the lake where I could see ducks and flamingos and enjoy my food in an attractive, comfortable and relaxed environment. I noticed that there were high chairs available for families with children, and toilets were in close proximity to the cafe. I really enjoyed just sitting and contemplating the world about me, but I'm yet to see how much a place like this changes as it's expected to cope with the added influx of holiday makers after the schools break up for summer. All food and drinks are freshly made and behind the main dining area there is a small outdoor courtyard which has tables with parasols and tends to be a lovely space to dine on a sunny day. The menu covers a wide range of reasonably priced meals, from all day breakfasts and burgers, to a full dinner, snacks, jacket potatoes and sandwiches. Occasionally, I've wished my food would arrive a bit quicker, but this has to be balanced against the fact that everything is freshly cooked. In summer, everywhere to eat in Cromer, tends to get very busy at lunch time and Breakers is no different so try to avoid the busiest times if you can.

Sadly a lot of piers are slowly falling into the sea, so its great to see Cromer pier in such good…read moreshape. Consistently busy in summer with kids crabbing off the deck and fishermen dangling bait from the end, its a great reminder of the towns glorious past. And in fact its glorious present, because it's a fine place to visit, with a lot of lovely art and craft shops, places to get icecream. And pubs. The beach is ace around the pier too, it even has a surf school where you can learn to hang 10 on a two foot swell. Whatever that means If you're around cromer in the evening and want a 70s flashback, end of the pier shows still take place every season.

It is a popular fishing spot, and 'crabbing' is a favourite activity for summer visitors.
