For the longest time, nursing school lived in the same category as "I'll get to it eventually."…read moreEventually turned into 6-7 years of postponing, doubting myself, and wondering if I was really cut out for it. Ironically, what finally pushed me to take the leap was watching a coworker graduate from West Coast University. Did she vent about the program being stressful? Absolutely. Did she ever have a bad thing to say about the professors or staff? Not once. That spoke volumes. Nursing school isn't supposed to be easy. Caring for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives isn't easy, so why should the preparation be? Hearing about the challenges didn't discourage me, it reassured me that the program was doing exactly what it was meant to do. So, after attending an information session for the second time in two years, I finally decided to stop flirting with the idea of nursing school and commit. What stood out to me immediately was the transparency! From day one, everything was laid out clearly: what was required for admission, what resources were available, and what steps needed to be taken to succeed. There were no surprises, no sugarcoating, just straightforward guidance and support. Then began the adventure of getting all my "stuff" together. I would be remiss if I didn't give a special shout-out to David Gallardo, who is low-key one of the biggest reasons my application was completed at all. During the application process, I was navigating some personal challenges while helping care for my mother. Throughout it all, David remained patient, encouraging, and consistently supportive. More importantly, he always started our conversations by asking how I was doing, not just where I was in the application process. That may seem like a small thing, but it meant a lot. His kindness and reassurance gave me confidence when mine was running low. If first impressions truly matter, David was the perfect first impression of West Coast University. Now, as I prepare to begin this journey, I won't pretend I'm not nervous. I have moments where I wonder whether I have what it takes. But I also know that West Coast University has already shown me that support, resources, and dedicated advisors are available every step of the way. At that point, the responsibility shifts to me to use those resources and keep moving forward. So here I am, equal parts anxious and determined, looking forward to the long study sessions, sleepless nights, and study-group marathons. Two years from now, I plan to walk across that stage knowing that earning my degree wasn't easy, but it was worth it. And when that day comes, I'll happily become an unofficial ambassador for West Coast University, completely pro bono lol. If I can help encourage even one person who has been sitting on the fence the way I did for 6-7 years, wondering whether they're capable or whether the timing is ever going to be right, then I'll gladly share my experience. Sometimes all it takes is seeing someone else take the leap to realize you can do it too. For now, though, it's time to get to work. See y'all in two years! GM.

Whenever I left her a message she always returned my calls and took the time to address any concerns I had. No matter how many questions I asked or how many times I called she was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding. She consistently pointed me in the right direction and made sure I had the information I needed to make informed decisions. In all honesty she is one of the main reasons I chose West Coast University. The positive experience I had working with her left a lasting impression and I am incredibly grateful for everything she did to help me begin this journey.

My friend recommended Los Angeles Career College, and now I can see why! I am in the 2 week course, now starting my externship and my instructor was Steele. He was so informative, and provided all the information needed to pass the national exam! He was able to keep people engaged, and went above and beyond by educating us on different opportunities available for phlebotomists. Narek was also very helpful and was leading my orientation. When I had questions about paper work and licensing as someone fresh out of high school, he put in the work and made the process seamless. Even when I called before taking the class, the team was quick to pick up and answer my questions. They have many options, so even if you don't want the accelerated program they have other ones available. Overall, if you make sure to treat the class with respect (showing up on time, completing your assignments, studying and being willing to learn) then you will for sure pass the exam!

As a parent of young kids with a swimming pool, you have a worry in your mind about having a pool…read moreparty for the kids birthdays. "what if something happens to a kid in the pool" Well, Cooksey's is the answer to that question. I had a birthday party for my 5 year old. We had a water slide / bounce house but knew the kids would be between that and the pool. 5 years old is the age where some kids swim well and others are still learning. Reasons to hire Cooksey's over a freelance guard: -Confidence all training and guard card certs are up to date -$1mil Insurance policy if something were to happen -Guard supplies basic Lifeguard needs including a floating device -Gives your guests peace of mind that there is someone always watching if they step away for a minute or get lost in a conversation. Our Experience -Communicating with the company was easy. -The guard showed up right on time -The guard had no problem keeping the kids in line, reminding them to not run, etc. -My 5 year old daughter wasn't a big fan because the guard was doing her job and kept on top of all thing safety - a sign My wife and I appreciate as getting exactly the service we hoped. We had nothing but compliments and appreciation from the other parents and a couple asked for the info for the service so they could use them too. Do yourself a favor and hire Cooksey's for your next pool party so you dont have to worry about whats happening in the pool and can focus on the guests / enjoying the party yourself.

I made the mistake of hiring this company without reading their Yelp reviews first…read more This lifeguard service is completely unreliable. They require full payment upfront, and after I booked, I exchanged numerous emails with them to confirm my lifeguard reservation. I was repeatedly assured that they had plenty of lifeguards available in my area and that there would be no issue providing coverage for my event. The day of my daughter's 8th birthday party, the lifeguard was a complete NO-SHOW. Many of our guests attended specifically because they were told a lifeguard would be on duty around the pool. Not only was this a major safety concern, but it was also incredibly embarrassing. I felt like I had misled my guests, despite doing everything possible to confirm the service beforehand. If you are planning an event and need a dependable lifeguard service, I would strongly encourage you to think twice before booking with this company. My experience was extremely disappointing, stressful, and unprofessional.
