CPR chicks came out and did our recertifications at the office today and Deb was Awesome! From the beginning, easy communication to set up the appointment, so flexible with our crazy schedule, great energy, very informative, and everything was very safe , with all of the Covid protocols in place. Highly recommend! We will absolutely be calling CPR chicks for our certifications in the future!

Supposedly BROKE GUINNESS RECORD with 3400 participants--but didn't register. Bummer…read more Nearly a 5 hour ordeal and still 5 stars!!! Great job American Red Cross! Here's what happened: Wanted to get up early to take the earlier classes to avoid the rush since it's every hour from 7-1 pm for registration with the last class supposedly at 1 pm. The CPR process is reported to take about 3.5 hours. 10:00-11:15 am: Got up and got ready, taking care of what I got to take care of before leaving and grabbing my ID, cash (at least $20 to be safe), and camera. 11:15-11:45 am: Drove to San Diego Concourse where it's taking place. Paid $5 for parking at the location (YAY for reduced CPR Saturday rate). 11:45 am: Took elevator down to street level and went WTF. There's like 300-400 people in line! 11:45-12:00 pm: Got in the wrong part of line and cut a bunch of pissed off people who finally spoke up 5 minutes later. The line weaved like crazy, I thought I was at the end. Got to the end. Chitchat with people and realize I needed to grab a clipboard, register, and stand in a different line. 12:00-12:30 pm: Bubbled my registration and register to get a wristband that was my ticket in. During the wait, a guy announce once you have the wristband, you can wait in a line or just sit anywhere until your hour is called. 12:30-1:00 pm: Walked to Wendy's a short walk away and grabbed breakfast/lunch. 1:00-1:50 pm: Headed back to San Diego Concourse and ate lunch and waited. Things were running behind 45 minutes so the 1pm session was at 1:45 pm. 1:50-2:45 pm: Waited until everyone that was in the line went in and went in myself. Even though there were about 300-500 people my session, the line moved in under 10 minutes. There's no reason to wait in line unless you wanted good seats. The front row was the last to fill up anyways, so got a front row seat. Watched a 45 minute video. Don't expect it to be super entertaining or have great acting. The video is suppose to teach you CPR and that's what it does. No further comment. They announced more than 3000 people have done CPR training today with more to train at an additional session at 2pm since they didn't want to turn away anyone that came in time. 2:45-2:50 pm: Took written test and got 100%!!! 2:50-3:05 pm: Waited in line to do CPR demo on real person. 3:05-3:30 pm: Did CPR demo with an assigned partner since I came alone. 3:30-3:40 pm: Waited in line to do CPR demo on dummy. 3:40-4:00 pm: Trained on dummy. 4:00-4:30 pm: Got certificate and headed home. Too pooped to go shopping at that point. Yes, it was a long ordeal but it's FREE and now I can possibly save someone's life. If you want a shorter time frame, arrive early. Don't hate.

Karina helped me with my resume after the first part of the class was over and helped me find my externship. A special thank you to my instructor, Dulce, she was truly one of the highlights of the course. I had her during the second half of the program in person. This was where we were doing hands on learning with injections, blood draws, finger pricks, etc.. She was knowledgeable, funny, patient and always made sure we understood the material. Dulce guided us through the entire process and made sure we were prepared for our externships. I feel confident from what she taught us and definitely will be using the tips and tricks she shared with us. I used MYCAA to attend as my husband is a marine so I attended on a scholarship. I understood this because shit happens, but it left me with a tighter schedule for completion. They rescheduled my class and assured me that it wouldn't be canceled again. It was canceled again for the same reason. This time, I explained that I had specific time constraints and if the class was canceled again, I would need a refund. Thankfully, class went as scheduled. The instructor was friendly and effectively taught CPR. The class ended earlier than expected and there wasn't an exam at the end of class. The instructor was clear in the beginning, when she stated the "exam" was based on your engagement and participation. Loved that except, the website for CPR San Diego indicated that failing your exam would mean you would have to pay for class again, unless you paid a little more for their "cheat sheet" and unlimited tries on the test. I paid the extra money, but it was completely unnecessary. It was just a good way to get a little more out of you. Approximately two days after class, I was sent a link to complete my First Aid certification. It was a bit of a joke really. It made sense that my CPR class ended early because it didn't include First Aid. This wasn't clear on their site. I was under the impression, both classes would be done in person. I paid $99.90 and I'm certified now, but I wouldn't recommend or use CPR San Diego again.

If I'm being…read morehonest, I was a little skeptical at first--"hypno" anything sounded a bit out there to me. But I signed up to support my wife, and I'm really glad I did. This class completely changed how I see birth and my role in it. Instead of feeling like a bystander, I walked away feeling informed, useful, and actually confident in how I can support my wife during labor. The techniques we learned--breathing, relaxation, visualization--aren't just for moms. I found myself using them too, and they've already helped us both stay calmer leading up to the big day. What stood out most was how much emphasis was placed on teamwork. I learned specific, practical ways to advocate for my wife, help her stay relaxed, and create a positive environment no matter how the birth unfolds. It made me feel like an active participant instead of just "the guy in the room." The instructor, Care, was very knowledgeable, approachable, and never made any question feel silly. She made the classes very comfortable and even pretty funny at times. The class also struck a great balance between education and hands-on practice, so it didn't feel like we were just sitting through lectures. If you're a partner on the fence about taking a hypnobirthing class--do it. Even if you're skeptical like I was, you'll come away with tools, confidence, and a much deeper understanding of what your partner is going through. Honestly, it's one of the best things we've done together to prepare for becoming parents.

We completed it feeling much more prepared and confident for the birth experience ahead. Care provided a wealth of resources, ensuring we had everything we needed to make informed decisions about our birthing plan. She was always responsive to our questions, both during the classes and even after the birth, which made a world of difference in our journey. It's rare to find someone who continues to support you even after the classes are over. Overall, the entire experience with Care was amazing. Her warmth, expertise, and dedication to her clients truly set her apart.
