I've been going to Peterson location for my ACLS, PALS and CPR since 1996. I always have Ms. G. Limos as the instructor and she is good. Class starts on time, she is respectful of the students, makes you feel at ease and open to answers your questions, she's knowledgeable of the course and class goes really fast. So this is not for the beginner ACLS students. Now, I went to Foster location since my card expiring same day and they have a Korean instructor Ms. Eun Goldstein. She promised the class that she's the best ACLS instructor you will ever have. You think bold claims like that she can back it up. WRONG!!! I'm sure she's pretty knowledgeable of the course but that' does not translate to being an effective instructor. She's rude and condescending to student. I've been an ER nurse and an open heart ICU nurse for years for 12 years. I transitioned to registry nurse doing detox and psych as full time. Ms. Goldstein insulted me in front of the class that being a detox and psych nurse I don't know anything and she starts laughing. She made me feel I don't belong to her class. Called me out during mock code even if I answered her question correctly as "being bookish" and not the right answer she wants during actual code. Talk about being rude and tone deaf. You can't understand a word she says throughout the class She humiliates student during mock code if your "slow" to respond to her questions. She called a Loyola student "low class" for not able to answer correctly. And she called another new grad student with "poor education" who also not able to comprehend her question. Like I said very rude. Inappropriate. She reprimanded a nurse sitting in front for looking in her bag while she's talking and said "all eyes in front of me. What are you doing?! She told everyone do not ask her any questions at the start of the class. This is the worst ACLS / CPR I had in my entire life. Go to Peterson class with Gloria Limos. Ms. Goldstein should be ashamed of her rude behavior towards student. Paying $150 for her class is a joke! Stay away! read more

Christa was awesome! She was super informative and the class was not boring at all. She kept engaging with the students and never made anyone feel uncomfortable. She really enforced all the new rules that the American Heart Association changed. No appointment needed, fee was much less than other places and also if you're renewing, you get a $5 discount! I would recommend taking the class here. I had zero problems with signing in or getting things set up. read more

I usually go to the Peterson location for my ACLS & CPR recertification but they didn't have any spots available the day I could go....so I ended up at the Foster location. Parking was convenient and the room was nice and large for social distancing during Covid. The reason I gave 2 stars is because I had a difficult time understanding the instructor and I also felt uncomfortable to speak up because of her teaching style. During the group code she wanted super fast responses or else she made you feel stupid if you couldn't answer quick enough. Honestly, I didn't know what she was saying most of the time. There's no question that she is extremely smart and knows what she is talking about. I just feel that I was trying so hard to understand what she was trying to say but her accent prevented me from truly understanding what she was teaching. I do not recommend this instructor for first time ACLS students. If you already know ACLS and just want a new card then this class is fine for you. She also made numerous comments about different races which I found insulting. PS... I am Asian so I'm not against Asians. read more

I love CPR associates. I've been here for PALS, ACLS, and CPR renewals for the last 5-6 years or more. I could be taking renewal classes at work for free but the classes at work are boring and painfully long. I don't mind making the drive or paying the fee because the instructor, "Ann", is really good at what she does and teaches things in a way where they stick. I leave the class repeating "if they're dead, defib" and "is it shockable or unshockable?" and "if they're symptomatic, sync". I scheduled a few weeks before and completed and printed my pretest about a week before. They gave me the information about the pretest when I scheduled the class over the phone. You do have to bring your pretest score to class so make sure you get that done. I will continue going here for my renewals. Great instructor. Easy parking. I took off one star because sometimes the front desk staff is not there and it makes it difficult if you have a scheduling or billing question. read more

Have been coming here for years for ACLS, CPR, and PALS. It's in the basement of an old building but it does the job. The best part is they have classes almost every day of the week so when you're in a pinch before a card expires you can usually get in to get recertified. Take the online test and print it out before you come. Sometimes they have coffee. read more

I love going to CPR Associates! I have been going to them for the past 3 yrs (school makes us renew every yr) and each time I have had a great experience. Every teacher I've had so far has been very animated and informative all in one.. keeps the material from being so dry. The last time I went here I also had Earl who was awesome. The guy above is lucky cause my class lasted about 2.5hrs, but not bad considering other friends have told me that they stay longer when receiving their certificate under other associations.. I have been recommending fellow co-workers and friends to come here because of how great the material is presented! If the one here is too far, there's also one on Peterson. read more

This was my first time taking a CPR class and I'm glad I chose CPR associates. I decided to take this class because I am a mother of a one year old, and I wanted to be prepared in any way possible. The material was presented with much care and patience, I left that class feeling very confortable and confident. My instructor was great! The class was only 40 bucks the cheapest I found to other associates, and the class was about 2.5 hours long. I will definitely be back in two years to renew my card. Took a CPR class from this place a few weeks ago on a saturday morning. My boss was asking me to get a new card since my old one had expired and told me friday that i couldnt work the following monday without it. I usually go to their office at peterson, but was pressed for time since I had an appointment later in the day. I was lucky that they have plenty cpr classes at a variety of times during the week. Our instructor Christa was funny and sincerely wanted us to learn the CPR BLS class by keeping the class engaged. They are AHA certified. It was $40 for a renewal or $45 for beginners. I liked that there was a class every weekday, twice a day and you don't need to register. Easy parking. The class itself was 2.5 hours and then a quick test. This is my first time to have CPR classes in USA, and first thing that I really like is the option to just walk in and take the classes, getting new card in no more than 3 hours. Just check the schedule online and be there 15 min earlier. But nothing would be that great if the teacher is not that amazing! She explained everything in such simple and interesting way, also paying attention on specific needs of each participant, asking why we need CPR for, and adding more details that we needed. She even took more time after everyone left, and I already had a card, to give me some more tips, because I needed CPR for infants, which is specific and more sensitive. It would be so useful for many parents to go through it all one more time. She didn't let me go until she was sure I understood everything, because there's no room for mistakes! :-) 3 hours didn't seem that long because was interesting, so I would strongly recommend this location to anyone who need to refresh or get new CPR certificate. read more

I am so glad to have found this place!! I am a registered nurse and this company was recommended to me by a coworker. I rushed out of my house to get here this morning and, of course, forgot my CPR card. I explained the situation to Christa and she was very understanding, only charging me the $40.00 (not imposing the $5 up charge) after I told her that my card had not yet expired. She was an excellent instructor, pointing out key concepts and keeping all participants engaged. This entire course took 2.5 hours and I received my new card before I left! I am beyond impressed with this place and with instructor Christa. I will be back for subsequent renewals and will spread the word to my Northside friends! read more

I just got done with my CPR recertification and all I can say is WOW. Earl our instructor was very light hearted and fun. The class was over and done with in just about an hour, everything was covered we all practiced and got to enjoy the rest of the day. Of course I waited last minute to renew my CPR for Healthcare Provider- Lucky I was informed of this place. It's fantastic that you can just walk in no prior registration required. $5 off for renewals is a plus. The class was probably the most informative one I've had out of all my CPR classes- very straight to the point. I think our instructors name was Christa? ( I could be wrong) The best part was that it was 2.5 hours less time than most CPR classes. I will see them again in 2 years! read more

Ive been going to this place for 2 consecutive renewal years. I never am able to take advantage of the CPR classes offered at our Hospital and renewals can be a hassle at times and with changes from time to time it can be nerve-racking. I've had an amazing instructor:Christa who makes the class very interesting, educational, and understandable! Walk-ins are welcomed and parking is abundant! Class was suppose to start at 10 and it is 15 pass ten and we are still waiting for center to be open! Their EKG class instructor was excellent and I liked her teaching method but she moves too fast through the material because she has to finish in 4 hours. The amount of money they charge $139 for a 4 hour class is ridiculous. They falsely advertise an 8 hour class on their website but in actuality provide only 4 hour of class time. When you go to the EKG class they do not provide any written material, handouts or power points. read more
