I've gone here for 2 tats. I was really hoping to be able to add this local business and give them…read morea better review, but it didn't work out that way. They have decent reviews on another site, but If you read them, people either had a good experience with a tatoo artist who is no longer there or they had a good experience getting a piercing.
I live about 5 minutes from here so I checked it out and wanted to get a tatoo of a record with the Wu-tang logo in it. I had an official drawing set up and went to book with Carlos. When I went there for the appointment, he changed the design up. I was cool with it because it looked a lot like graffiti art. But when he was done, he painted in the needle in the record player which made it look terrible. He didn't seem to understand that his first design looked like graffiti art and I liked it, but when he colored in the needle and make it realistic, it made the record look stupid. I had no choice but to go back, pay more to set up the colors and have him fill in the record.
Unfortunately, he couldn't make the record look as realistic as I would have expected because he already messed up the lines with his graffiti looking design. I'm ok with the final product, but it could have been better. I almost feel like he did what he did to make me go back and spend more money. I did appreciate that he wanted to make me happy when I was so disappointed with what he did at first.
While I was getting tatted up, people were coming in for piercings. I was amazed that we were all out in one open space and it didn't seem like the cleanest, most sanitary environment for all those possible bodily fluids in the air, but everybody else didn't seem to notice. Of course as I lay there on my stomach, I kept thinking, does anybody ever clean this place?
I went back looking for Carlos to give him another go on a Star Wars tat I wanted to get. Carlos wasn't there, so I talked to this guy "Brisk" I also wanted to get a tat of Ryu, and they had street fighter in the front, so I figured I would get the street fighter tat I wanted and then see what I wanted to do about the Star Wars tat I also want.
Somebody made an unauthorized transaction on my debit card this week and so I called the bank and and asked for a new card. I went to the bank today to take out cash, but they were closed, I forgot it was Indigenous People's day. I went to my appointment and explained to Brisk, that I'm waiting for them to send me a new debit card and the bank was closed today.
I told him I have Apple Pay, I showed him my bank account app so he can see that I have the money, and asked if he would hold a check and I'll bring him cash tomorrow, or he can cash the check. He would only take cash or cash app. They didn't have the ability to run my apple credit card because they don't have the card reader. I downloaded the cash app but without a debit card, I couldn't do it. He said he could reschedule me, but I told him, if you don't trust me, I don't trust you.
At this point, I'd feel more comfortable driving a little farther and getting a tat from somebody that has their own clean work area, a place that accepts something other than cash. Be sure and check out the artists work on Instagram and not to chose this place based on their overall reviews.
