Like I said...everything is super cute. Marissa was the only person working at the boutique at the time. She greeted me nicely. She was super friendly and helpful. This was going to be a good experience, right? When I went in, the consignment lady was so rude when I asked a few more questions and kept saying, "Well you didn't talk to me about this! I don't answer the phones on Saturday." Dropped off several things, she rejected almost all of them. I hope the 1 or 2 items she kept sell quickly, as I will never do business with her again.

I do not live locally and was only in town for a short period of time handling the estate, so timing and communication were important. The home contains quality furnishings, including a Taylor King sectional, a custom Vanguard dresser, a large Restoration Hardware rug, and other high-end items. After nearly three weeks of back-and-forth communication, they finally were going to come out on March 13 and picked up only two items--a sideboard and a rug. To my surprise, after our conversation with the driver on his way, they then declined the rug. I decided to tell him not to even come, and I would not be doing business with them and that their business structure was extremely unprofessional and excruciatingly painful to deal with. During prior communication, they asked what price I hoped to get for the rug. I suggested $800 for a $3000 rug as a starting point, fully acknowledging that I did not expect to recover what I originally paid. I specifically asked for their professional input since this is their business and they know the resale market. Instead of providing guidance, I was simply told my price "wasn't their happy price." That was the extent of the explanation. The entire process was unnecessarily frustrating. Communication is routed through a receptionist who acts as a gatekeeper, making it impossible to speak directly with the person actually making the consignment decisions. Everything is filtered through short emails or secondhand messages, which creates confusion and delays. For a business that relies on consignors bringing them quality merchandise, the lack of transparency, poor communication, and inefficient process is surprising. Clearing out an estate is already difficult, and this experience only made it more frustrating. I would not recommend working with this company. Their communication structure and overall business approach are not consumer-friendly.

I was really interested in a pair of cowboy boots, but they were priced at $100 with older pricing (from another store?) of $15 on the sole, and that just turned me off completely. Signage indicates that they don't allow returns or exchanges, either.

Then I went to lingerie and asked a question about the style of a camisole and what women wear under thin straps. The clerk said whatever women want and walked off. Then I proceeded to the dept selling nylons. There were two clerks talking to each other. I asked what the letters meant for sizing. The clerk told me she doesn't have the sizes memorized and I needed to look it up myself. There are so few choices for quality clothes and shoes in this town. Its too bad the staffing doesn't have the skills or training to make the shopping experience pleasant.

After doing so, she told my sister that she should look in a different section because the coats she was looking at were "top of the line". After dragging her over to the other section she proceeded to ask is your mom "round like you". Not only is my sister a perfectly healthy weight, she is also recovering from an eating disorder. And REGARDLESS of how my sister looks, she should be treated with respect. Additionally, I would like to know why an employee would actively discourage someone from shopping larger ticket items based on appearances - since there was zero discussion of budget. Do Dillard's employees believe that only a certain kind of person deserves the "top of the line"?

There are also signs reminding parents to keep an eye on their children, don't touch this and don't touch that. It's very off putting and immediately made me feel unwelcome. If you have children (especially in strollers), are in a wheelchair or have anything larger than a small handbag on your person, you'll find that navigating this shop is difficult. The aisles are incredibly narrow; inventory fills every available nook and cranny from floor to ceiling. There are trinkets and knick-knacks all around-some look to be collectables. I'd imagine that some people get great joy out of hunting for treasures here-after all, there are plenty.
