My Mother had no heat on the weekend so she called and had a tech come out on an emergency rate…read more The tech was great and replace a motor and was able to get the heater to come but the heater failed after he left. The tech came back and replaced a sensor and still charged a weekend rate so after 2 visits and 2 replaced parts the unit still failed. The Manager cam out on Monday and replaced a 3rd part but was nice to not charge his rate because his guys Miss diagnosed the original problem and it turned out to be the thermostat. After all said and done she paid just under $1000 for three trips and three different parts when only one was needed and then she was offered an estimate to replace the entire unit and she would be giving a $300 concession off of the bill she just paid if she purchases a new unit in 30 days All Bad!!!

They have good prices, especially for their experience. We've been looking for a good HVAC company for a while and after having an awful experience with another company who ended up being more expensive, and had less trained technicians we are sticking with Faribo A/C & Heating.

I agreed they didn't show up to that appointment, Or the one I had scheduled before the rescheduled appointment nothing like waiting the four hour window. My AC stopped…read moreworking, and after texting multiple HVAC repair companies, Mario was the first to respond, which I appreciated. I mentioned that we didn't need an emergency visit and he fit me in his schedule for the next morning, quoting $175 for the service call. After diagnosing an electrical short in the contactor, he left to pick up a replacement part, and finished the job that same day. At no point, before or during the repair, was I given a total cost estimate outside of the initial $175 or a chance to approve the total job amount prior to completion. It was shocking, then, that the final invoice came out to $800: a $175 diagnostic fee, two hours of labor at $175/hour, and a $275 charge for a part (contactor) that retails for $50 or less. In addition, I wasn't given an invoice upon completion of the job, but rather I had to ask for it twice afterward. If any part of this review gives you pause, I'd consider taking your business elsewhere.

On a recent weekend, my son and his wife's furnace stopped working, completely. He called a local…read moreHVAC repair company that attempted to take advantage of the emergency weekend repair and tried to charge an exorbitant amount for the repair. They were obviously more interested in trying to upsell a new furnace, rather than deal with the problem. It is an older furnace but not ready for replacement yet. He paid them their service and diagnostic fees and declined the repair. I did a little homework and called Luiken's. They returned my phone call Saturday morning and discussed the situation with me. I asked them if they could kindly get to the bottom of what was going on with the furnace. They assured me they would be there first thing Monday morning to give it a look. My son, with help from a long distance family member, was able to at least get the furnace operational. Luiken's showed up Monday and found an additional problem with the return ducting that was seriously affecting the efficiency and operations of the furnace. I definitely recommend Luiken's Mechanical of Faribault. They were knowledgeable, honest and in my opinion, charged a fair price. I was able to breathe a little easier knowing that they handled the problem and didn't try to turn a mole hill into a mountain like the other company did, especially with me trying to help from out of state. I definitely recommend Luiken's Mechanical of Faribault. My son will be calling them in the future for estimates, if needed, for any other home HVAC related repairs.
