Cowboys & Angels - Fantastic as always Louise.. so glad I found you a year ago - Hair Salons Near Me - Dublin, D

Made an appointment online and received confirmation. Despite this when arrived just prior to appointment time, told that they had overbooked. Next appointment offered was three days off. Poorly run business and can surmise talent would match. AVOID at all expense and expensive it will be. read more

I went to this place years ago, but I wouldn't go back. Totally over priced. €50 for a men's cut! I only went because I wanted to experiment with a new style and I had heard this place was known for being trendy and innovative. I quickly learnt that "trendy and innovative" meant tacky gold sprayed picture frames and lacy 'boudoir' pink wallpaper. It was incredibly busy when I arrived for my appointment, and I was put on a stool for 20 minutes before being led over to the sink. Spent another 15 minutes waiting with wet hair before my stylist came near me. 10 minutes into my cut she started running backwards and forwards between me and another customer! Clearly overbooked and understaffed. After nearly two hours of farcical treatment, my hair ended up looking as though I'd cut it myself with a pair of garden shears. I had a huge tiff with the receptionist, who was an absolute cow, and I refused to pay the full amount and told them I wouldn't be back. Outrageous! read more

It's expensive but the stylists are lovely(and talented), the surroundings are hip and the results are fabulous! Makes a change from chain hairdressers as it has a real boutique feel to it. Especially recommended for those who find visiting the hairdressers an unsettling experience! read more

Avoid this place at all costs. Total rip off and the hair dressers haven't a clue what they are doing. 250 for such a bad job. She turned my hair white and I've to go to another hair dresser in town to get it fixed. The girl washing my hair pulled at my hair so much I thought i was going to cry! read more

Cowboys and Angels is a very hip hair salon on trendy South William Street. The theme of the salon is pink and boudoir-esque - think printed pink wallpaper, gold-guilt mirrors, huge chandeliers and some leopard print thrown in for good measure. They specialise in hair extensions and wig maintenance, though I used to go here for the experienced stylists, who are very good at giving funky, innovative haircuts. I brought a picture from a magazine of the cut I wanted, and they did a pretty good job of replicating it. The reason I no longer go here is the prices - with a cut STARTING at €70 (you can pay up to €90 for a more experienced stylist, and the sky's the limit if you want highlights or hair extensions or whatever) I just can't justify spending that much money in this day and age. And they insist that you should be coming back to fork out that kind of money every 6 weeks! No way. read more

Went to them on Oct 27 for a simple dye job before a trip. One week into my trip (and only two washes in) my greys started to show again and the color turned a hideous shade of red orange. Call the management who say to come back in for a color correction when I get back into the country. While they were successful in fixing thier mistake, I was promptly charger 80 euros at the end of the visit to fix something that was clearly their mistake. Would have been better off using a box. It doesn't surprise me that the previous reviewer had an issue with prices and justifying this salon's costs in this day and age .... After a friend raving about this place, I walked in off the street hoping I could get just my fringe trimmed. Appreciating the fact I hadn't been there before, I was prepared to pay about 5 euro for this (as I have done with other reputable salons), I was also hoping to make an appointment to get highlights and a cut in a week or two ... Instead, I was met with a wall of attitude when I said I hadn't been there before but was relying on the recommendation of a friend. The woman looked me up and down, made me feel incredibly uncomfortable, and basically wanted to charge 15 euro to trim my fringe!!! I can understand their reticence if the salon was busy or short-staffed, but this was a Monday afternoon with less than a handful of people there ... Clearly this place has notions of the type of clientele it aspires to attract (which is subject to interpretation in itself), however, first impressions are everything: this place comes to a big massive FAIL for respect, courtesy and manners. If you're the type of person who looks for a salon that creates a comfortable atmosphere that puts you at ease... and offers --reasonable-- , --competitive-- prices to boot, then Cowboys & Angels is not it. read more

Horendous !!! words cannot describe how disapointed I was with the treatment in this salon !!! Also they claim the extentions are "REAL HAIR & EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY" which i expect when i pay €700. to be told afterwards by 2 separate hairdressers that in fact they have obviously tried to cut costs & fool the customer and have mixed fake hair & real hair extentions! EXTREMELY UNHAPPY & WILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN !!!! read more

I have just had the most horrific experience at the hands of Valerie from this salon in regards to Great Lengths hair extensions., I got then 4 weeks ago and the next day my head exactly where the extensions were was unbearably itcy, i thought this was normal and would go away in a week when Id got used to them.., Unfortunately it didnt go away and this week I couldmnt take it anymore and went to a Great Lengths certified salon in Belfast who confirmed that there was too many bonds too close together and too close to my scalp which was causing the itch - they also confirmed my fears that the colour match was in their words 'atrocious'. They told me I should be entitled to a FULL refund. So I called Valerie and explained my problems, she DID NOT WANT TO KNOW AND DIDNT CARE AT ALL, She tried to blame my head itchiness on my shampoo when its one I've used for years with no issues. She then point blank REFUSED to entertain the idea the problem was related to how they were put in and REFUSED to give me a refund. BEWARE she will gladly take your money but if you have a problem afterwards she will NOT WANT TO KNOW. There is ZERO CUSTOMER AFTERCARE OR SERVICE AT THIS SALON - DO NOT GO THERE. I will be taking this to the small claims court as 800 euro extensilons should NOT have to be taken out after 4 weeks. IM UTTERLY DISGUSTED!" read more

Great decor really funky hand painted wall paper. Very friendly staff. All very high quality. If I go elsewhere for a wash and blowdry hairdressers ask where I got the cut and colour and remark on how well done. Worth the price read more

I had been in the past for colour (only) and was looked after really well. I wanted a change of hair style and knew they do a good job but you pay for it. Mind you they are one of the most expensive in Dublin. I decided I wanted balayage so I rang and got an appointment. Advertised online 150e! Expensive but I was willing to pay for the drastic and exciting change. A new girl did my hair and at the end of it - there was no blonde! And at the end during payment it was 175e - extra 25e for blowdry. THEY DO NOT ADVERTISE ONLINE! Insane, considering it's a hair salon and your hair will always need to be blow-dried if wet! I explanied I was disappointed with not seeing any blonde, she said she'd do it again if I rebooked. Also stating, I need to wash it a few times for the blonde to appear -ehhh. That's a first! Shaking with shock as I stupidly paid for this. I slept on it and went to work the next day and no one noticed I got my hair done. I went back in the next day and asked for manager and the snooty enough receptionist who took payment for it said eh what's this in regards to. HAH! Eh my hair love (obviously) So she left and came back and said, can you just tell me and I'll tell them because they're all busy so can't see you. Eh no, you know the situation so I'll speak with someone. A superior eventually came to me, I explained (she was there on the day) i wasn't happy after paying all that money and my hair still being brown. She said I wasn't getting a refund (laughing at me) so I could get it done again. I rebooked again (this process is 3 hours long) and the other girl kindly did my hair and was helpful, then the owner took over and said if I was there I definitely wouldn't of let you leave that day with no colour in your hair. Glad someone agreed as I felt really annoyed by the lack of customer service and rudeness of some staff members. The result this time was better - colour was there but still not what I wanted but was thankful to her as and the other girl as they pretty much said it wasn't done correctly the first time. It wasn't balayage more so just orangey highlights. I won't return nor will I recommend to friends. I ended up dying it out as it just was not nice 1-2 weeks later. I did try purple shampoo to lift it prior but not a great help. All in all, 200e spent! Still gutted and flabbergasted at the price and WISH I had saw Babooska in Temple Bar do it for 60e and the results there look amazing. They show photos on instagram! read more
