Many will just pass by this review of Russell and miss an honest experience of dealing with a person that does not care about good ole fashion customer satisfaction. Others will take the time to thoroughly read my review and ponder as to how much of it is true verses a customer that's just difficult to satisfy. You be the judge and reach an educated decision as to whether or not you would want to be treated the way Russell treated my son. When I was nineteen (19) I purchased a brand new 1981 Ford F100 from Harry White Ford located on Stewart Ave in Atlanta. The truck served me well over the years, commuting me back and forth to work for over 500,000 miles. This is only part of the memories of my old truck. I have fond memories of my three (3) sons as small children being buckled in the front seat sitting so proud to ride in their daddy's truck. Our old dog Sally would ride in the back with her head protruding through the sliding back window watching everything that was going on. As my children aged I taught each one of them how to drive the manual "three on the tree" transmission in the F100. Each one would use the truck as a beginner vehicle then pass it down to their younger brother. I became extremely ill and was on deaths doorstep. I decided to title the truck over to my oldest son and ask him to never sell it due to all the memories. He promised me that one day he would have it restored and drive it with pride and memories in his heart. He placed the truck in a storage unit for several years to keep it safe from the elements and to slow the spread of rust. I met Russell at a car show in Dawsonville over three (3) years ago. I was very impressed with his work and his easy going personality. After meeting Russell I gave my son his business card and told him how impressed I was with Russell's work and personality. My son is not a wealthy person, like so many of us he has the responsibility of working every day and doing his best to pay the bills. However, he was determined to have the old truck restored before I passed away. My son had the truck towed to Russell's shop with the promise that the truck would be completely restored in about six (6) months from that date (November 2016). He told Russell several times that he wanted his daddy to drive the truck again with him by my side. Unfortunately, Russell wasn't touched by his desire to restore the truck in a timely fashion. The truck sat outside in the weather for over two (2) years in Russell's parking lot becoming a rust bucket fading away. Repeatedly, my son would try his best to get a time line on when his truck would make it into the shop; however, each answer turned into an excuse. During this time Russell was not too shy to continue asking my son for money. Each time Russell would say he "needed to take a draw to go toward labor or parts". Each money request would come with another empty promise that the truck project would soon be started. Two (2) years into the "restoration" (December 2018) my son told Russell he would no longer give him money until the truck was complete. Approximately five (5) months later (May 2019) Russell returned his truck to him claiming it to be finished. After pouring thousands of dollars into the pockets of Russell the truck that he claimed was restored had to be towed from his shop on a flatbed trailer. It did not have a radio, the front end was so out of alignment that it has to be taken to a frame shop and the paint job that Russell is so proud of had several flaws. And this is just the beginning of the list of problems. What started out as a simple restoration turned into a total nightmare with my son still having to flatbed the truck around town to finish what Russell called a finished product. I'm sure Russell will have his side of the story, however it will only be to defend his reputation. The truth is hard for people to admit in today's world. We live in a society where it's acceptable to deny everything and not take responsibility for your actions. I wish I had never went to that car show and met Russell, but the future doesn't have 20/20 vision. I wish Russell and his business well, but if he treats other customers the way my son was treated his business will soon fold. read more
