I have a little confession to make. I love steaks. I was born to eat steaks. I say this despite the fact that having too much beef triggers gout attacks in my joints. But I don't really care. Steaks are like my 'calm before the storm' and I'll eat one whenever I can.
On a quick pass along Jupiter Street, on the side near SM Jazz, I discovered Cow Bell Steak Café. I work and live near the area, but it was only that time that I noticed the steakhouse. I felt embarrassed.
Inside, I instantly felt cozy with the bright modern minimalist interior. I also had a good laugh at the meat-eater slogans painted on the walls.
Apart from steaks, this place offers non-beef fares like salmon and even long bean fries, which my wife ordered. I had a hard time finishing my T-bone steak as it was huge. Now, for some reason, most local mid-priced steak diners tend to serve their meat overcooked even if you expressly tell them that you want your steak medium. Well, not with Cow Bell. My steak was cooked right, with a pink middle but without blood oozing all over the wood plank the meat was served on.
Later on, if I want steak and I don't have the budget for hotel or fine dining restaurants, I'd surely visit Cow Bell again. read more
