Tequila, tequila and more tequila. They have a great selection here for tequila. I am not even sure what I tried haha but it went down so smooth! As in I didn't need the lime and salt haha. I will update the review once I ask my friend what we were drinking. They have good music here so it's a nice place to go with friends. I was here to celebrate a friend's birthday. They were so kind to store away the cake we brought until we needed it. Staff was great and accommodating. They gave us complimentary nachos. They weren't anything special. I also split a steak burrito with my friend. It tasted good but it was too much rice! I don't like too much rice in my burrito they should have filled it with more meat. However, it tasted good. Definitely want to come back here and try their tacos and drink more tequila with my friends!

I'm not really the type to pass on cocktail hour but somehow I can't even begin to describe the way my face crumpled when "tequila bar" was mentioned in my brats' group chat. I mean nothing good ever came out of tequila; everything wrong that had happened in high school was because of tequila. So why do these people want to bring me to a tequila bar? Is this a ploy to ruin my life all over again? Like I said, I'm not the type to pass on cocktail hour so a few hours later, I found myself in the innards of the red light district, sitting in the al fresco section of A'Toda Madre Tequila Bar, which is really the establishment's porch. Don't get me wrong, the place is comfy. The way it's designed is actually cool, what with the spiffy display of high-grade tequilas by the bar, the kickass signage, and not to mention the recurring Mexican sugar skull recurring all over the place. Plus, we happened to be in an air tunnel so in spite of summer, it was fairly cool. Since I was not about to just dive into trouble, I didn't even consider taking shots and asked for the Margarita de Casa. Once it arrived, the first thing I'd noticed is how it did not have that usual tequila reek. You know, that smell that makes the stomach wring just by the whiff of it. So I tasted it. And let me tell you, it was nothing like the ones I've had before - it was like tasting margarita for the first time all over again. It was nice and it went down smoothly. So smooth, I easily had three.

A'toda Madre, a little tequila bar tucked away at the end of Durban Street, did not disappoint. With an entire wall full of tequilas and a multitude of cocktails made with a wide range of tequilas, you're bound to find a drink that suits your taste. If you're a tequila purist, you'll love the higher end tequilas just on their own or over ice. I never ever thought I would say this, but I actually liked some of the higher-end tequilas, but keep the mezcal away from me! ATM, as it's commonly called, creates new cocktails regularly and the mezcal variety are popular with some, but I prefer the traditional margarita, Cadillac version, or the addictive Hot Mama. Go there, try it. You can't go wrong with having a few nibbles from the Mexican themed menu. Order a few tacos or nachos to go with your yummy cocktail and you're all set to start your night. On any given night, you're sure to find brothers Aljor or Sante hanging around, making sure everything is a-okay and that you are having a great time. A chill bar any night of the week.

Finally, a proper tequila bar in Metro Manila! Located in a small street just off Makati Ave, A'Toda Madre has possibly the most extensive collection of tequila in the whole country. And yes, they are understandably (but nicely) snobbish about it. Here's what I learned from a nice waitress named Kara while I was there: - Proper tequila is sipped, not shot (Shocker, I know) - Cuervo Gold?!? Ugh! - I now know the difference between Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo. Unfortunately, I didn't go and taste any of their tequila. I am still recovering from a major hangover from last Friday (Thank you, Rio), and besides tomorrow is a workday. However, when I go back (And I AM coming back), I will try out their Tequila Flight. For the uninitiated, a Flight is basically a sampler of a selection of alcohol, in this case tequila. You have the option of trying out a Flight of Blanco, Reposado, Anejo, or all three (Low end and High end). That honestly sounds like a plan. Special mention goes out to the most excellent food in the joint. For those who've gone to Tacos Chingones, this is its Mother. Top notch!

Welcome to alcohol heaven. A'toda Madre's claim to fame is its extensive tequila list. It has a LOT. Don't be overwhelmed though, the bartender will always be there to explain the fine details like the difference between "Anejo" and "Extra Anejo" (the latter one probably had more anejo). The bartender also explained that some of their tequilas are best appreciated when slowly sipped. This will enable you to taste the boldness of the agave and savor the intricacies of the aging process. Apparently tequilas aren't just to made to get you from zero to dancing wildly, fist pumping to all the regrets you'll have the next morning. While I'm not really a super fun of tequila, unless it involves the former (I jest), I still gave this place a 4/5 because of the experience. They'll give you free chips and salsa too! The bartender also mentioned that they have a tasting menu for the tequilas in which they'll serve you multiple shots with a thematic progression in terms of intensity. Not a bad place to visit if you're in the area. Have a shot or two in this place. It brings the class back to tequila. Oh, and they're also selling a very rare José Cuervo for P160k. Bring your ballin friends here!

A'Toda Madre is the lovechild of Dia de los Muertos and Makati's hipster foodie-alcoholic scene. The bar is tucked behind one of Makati's many small hotels, with only the color changing- glowing sugar skull to guide you there. It just opened up last year, but it's gained a popular following. I believe they're one of the first to introduce "flights" to the foodie scene. A tasting flight is essentially a sort of masterclass in telling tequilas apart, and A'Toda Madre is famous for their tequila flights, replete with Dia de los Muertos iconography. Don't let the small, neon-lit place fool you. It's not just a place to get smashingly drunk in. They've got pretty delicious food as well! Although they are pricey and servings are a bit small (what can I say? I'm a hungry girl), A'Toda Madre's food never lacks in herbs and spices that are inherent to Mexican food. I would recommend their tacos, chili verde and corn. What kind of corn, I don't know, but it was good and tasty and will change how you eat corn forever.

Tequila. It's the only thing you have to know and prepare yourself for when you decide to spend your night with friends at A 'Toda Madre. You'll definitely be chanting, "One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, Floor!" But there's a huge chance that instead of floor you'll ask for more if you try out every kind of tequila at their bar. They have tequila flights ranging from full highland (P575) to full lowland (P480) to blanco flights (P525), reposado (P645) and añejo (P700). If you're not familiar with tequila flights, this means that you sample multiple products in just one sitting. At A' Toda Madre they serve it at 1/2 ounce each shot. It's a very low key place to hang out in Durban Street. This Dia De Los Muertos-inspired tequila heaven also serves food. They don't serve much food but has all our favourite Mexican food in it like tacos and burritos. Ahh. This is like the best place for me in Williamsburgos.

A'Toda Madre's vibe and atmosphere is hands down, on point for what it is - a fun, Mexican tequila bar. All around the place are cool little calaveras or skulls depicting the Mexican Day of the Dead celebration. Perhaps what's even more striking is the wall of tequila bottles that greets you once you enter the place. That's when you know it's a legit tequila bar indeed. Aside from the tequila, the place also has a pretty good food menu. The tacos are a must try! The margaritas are worthy of a try too. All in all, food and drinks are good but the prices are just a bit too expensive for the area it's in.

This is the best Mexican food I have found in Manila. Not fond of the fish tacos but everything else was amazing. Super authentic food and Margaritas were on point. Chill vibe, and a classy hole in the wall. And the biggest variety of tequila ive ever seen in Manila.A must try!

The staff are always efficient and helpful when serving and suggesting drinks if you are feeling a little adventurous. Try the Negroni 1919 or the Espresso Martini. Good selection of wines too and a decent repertoire of Single Malts (for a price!). Bar chow is available too if you feel like you need more than the refillable snacks they serve you. It's also the perfect place to have an intimate conversation or a casual meeting. Cigar smokers and smokers alike will enjoy the fact that you can smoke here (sorry non-smokers!). Price points are expensive compared to your average bars or speakeasies but you're at The Peninsula after all. The overall feel is nostalgic, classic, and definitely for those who enjoy high quality cocktails and drinks in a place that makes you feel like you're transported to a bar in Cuba with different world music playing in the background.

I don't know how I can say any of this more politely, but I am a firm believer that in an organization of such high status ladies and gentlemen should be the ones serving ladies and gentlemen. 1 - Our transaction left me feeling like my money had been deceitfully stolen by our waiter Mike. I verbatim asked if SC is gratuity/tip. Mike's answer was a confident no - so I asked for some change from a larger bill which resulted in two more bills way bigger than what customary tip should be. This left me and my girlfriend who's stomach upset by the meal in an awkward situation of really not wanting to ask for change again because of how long menial tasks took. Essentially I felt strong-armed into an what for me was an uncomfortable position. Sure I could have said something but I was brought to an uneasy place where I thought I was purchasing an upscale experience. (I only googled what SC was once I got home) 2- The pizza had a 4cm puddle of oil in the center - yuck. 3- I ordered a cocktail which was improperly made multiple times, so poorly I had to speak up. On the re-delivery it looked sloppy and tasted like what was done was the addition of water and a heavy citrus squeeze. It was a simple and classic drink that is standard for every bartender to know. I didn't ask for a mocktail or whatever made up drink that was. 4 - What upset me most was Mike sitting at our table without a reason or invitation, very close to my girlfriend. This was extremely inappropriate and left us feeling like boundaries were crossed and uncomfortable. I enjoy connecting with local staff of places while traveling, but in the proper time and place. This transaction was done very wrong. 5- Was the DJ faking it? He left for like a half hour and the playlist continued. I was half a room away and I have to say it was loud and aggressive music for the vibe of the crowd which were mostly a lively elderly bunch this particular evening. This is the first time I even wanted to leave a 1-Star review. Since I only leave 5-star reviews I will continue to do so here but with this as a warning. Rooftops are cool but there are others with better views and better service than what Mike delivers. Can someone tell him that his behavior seems to be misaligned with how the organization he represents presents their hospitality services? Dang. I didn't want to post a review while feeling upset so I slept on it. Unfortunately it was disrupted multiple times from unusual (for both my girlfriend and I) digestive issues at both ends of the tract if you know what I mean. As the great Robert Kiyosaki said 'if it's not an asset it's a liability'. This expense and experience has definitely been a liability .

I was a regular of Bugsy's long before I discovered Red Rabbit, to the point that the moment I entered the smoking area, I'd tip my head to one of the waiters and when I'd sit at what I claimed as my spot, there would be an ice cold Pale Pilsen waiting for me already. One night, the waiters told me about the private place behind Bugsys and, always game for weird stuff, I readily agreed to be lead into it. I was always curious of the place next to the smoking area-- it was a partially frosted glass door, and what looked like an office space beyond it. Little did I know that one of the wall's panels swung into Red Rabbit, the hidden speakeasy behind Bugsys. It's a private place, with a full bar. Their specialties are strong!cocktails and a pretty decent whisky collection. The area is non smoking and dimly lit, as with all speakeasys I've been to. (My friend has a joke that these places are where you would bring your "kabit" or your lover to when trying to hide from your wife or girlfriend. And I agree! Haha) What I really liked about Red Rabbit was that the song list was very chill, and that the bathroom has a dimmer. A what now? A dimmer. Maybe I was just drunk, or maybe I just enjoy the truly simpler things in life, but Red Rabbit's nice, air conditioned, well kept bathroom is one of the nicest I've been to (That's inside a bar) I really appreciate the dimmer, you know? But the few times I've gone in, it's also had a fair amount of people enjoying a quiet and quality time. The drinks are potent, the charcuterie above standard, and the dry aged steak worth it. When it comes to passwords, it's close to keeping the tradition strong. The guys at Bugsy's won't tell you what's in their back room and you really have to intend to go there by yourself!
