This was certainly my case as I approached a visit to Doctor Ryan Leonhart knowing I had to have two teeth removed. However, from the moment I stepped through the door, everyone, from the office staff to the technicians to Dr. Leonhart himself, did everything humanly possible to put me at ease. I was treated with patience, kindness, and understanding every step of my visit. The office staff was cordial and efficient, and they explained my procedure and the costs involved thoroughly. The nurses were calming and comforting and went out of their way to make me feel at ease. And Dr. Leonhart himself was a model of what a physician's bedside manner should be. I can honestly say that I don't think that a visit to an oral surgeon could be any less stressful or pain-free than this one. The professionalism of everyone involved was unparalleled in my experience, as was their kindness and concern. Dr. Leonhart even personally called me later that evening to inquire about my welfare. I would give him and South Texas Oral Surgery six stars if it were possible.

When I talked to receptionist, she tried to set up an appointment 7 days out. She said because Im a new patient the Dr would not prescribe anything for me. Fine.....I am Freaking dying here of an infection!!! So the dentist could not take 5 min to see me and review the situation, the staff could place me as a new patient then make an appoint to correct the problem later but I would at least not be at risk of infection. This is what our health care is coming to, No one cares, especially staff that only watch the clock for the end of the day. The staff is substandard and do not care about your well being or your health...I would not go here for any reason.... Dont walk away but RUN! I Called Tezzel Oaks Family Dental....They got me in right away... I have an appointment in an hr from now. They will only see me long enough to get me the antibiotics I need so I dont die from infection. and that is how it should be.. DONT GO TO MARGARET LOVETT DDS, She may be a good dentist but her staff will see you dead before they will do anything for you!

The treatment included the 3 step retainers K1, K2 and K3 this are not custom retainers they are one fits all. My son was not able to retain them in his mouth during his sleep and lost them or the dog ate them, however I purchased 3 or 4 retainers at an additional $150.00 they will not tell you that you can purchase this on line for $60 and maybe save you some money (like I said they are not custom made) After tired of purchasing I called the office and they suggested maybe cementing this to his mouth. I wanted to wait and give him another chance. In December I called to discuss the procedure and left a voice mail that was never returned. I took my son to an orthodontist for a 2nd opinion and he said it was more than just retainers. When I called again to Kinard to ask them for a print out of the charges and procedures they got apprehensive about me not wanting to proceed with their practice. I paid Kinard for a consultation, 2 appointments and 2 retainers. Its a bit pricey! With the current orthodontist I pay as I go and I see the work. Be careful about paying this practice upfront for work not done yet. I think I am owed a refund.

I have finally meet the worst receptionist in my life. I usually walk in and they are nice and say hi then give me a clip board after I say my name and appointment time. This time i walk in and I say my name and time, and the lady just kept on her computer and didn't even look at me and told me like a child to go sit down someone will be with you. Not even giving me a glance. I felt this was completely unprofessenal and rude! I did set down for a minute and decided my wife and I should look for a different dental care facility. I hope in the future their company will give better training to their receptionist, so no one feels disrespected and or treated like a little child. Shaun

First, I was looking for a new dentist as our other one was ill and going into retirement. I questioned if they accepted my primary insurance with my main insurance and then my secondary one with my wife's work at Northside. She investigated it and they did. Then she surprised me giving me an appointment just 3 days later. I had read other reviews here on Yelp where those people had less than review scores of 1-4, averaging 3. There some who were complaining about having to wait longer than 1-2 hours. On the other hand, Rachel told me to expect to have an 1-2 hours in the length of the visit. I liked her giving me a heads up about the possibility of how much time it would take. I filled out their forms that they emailed me 1 hour before my visit. I showed up at 2:00. And in 6 minutes Felix was taking me for my x-rays. Then very soon after the x-rays, I was seen by their Dentist, Dr. Michael Bates. I am missing #4 molar on the top right hand side. He told me what needed to be done as far as building a bridge, which is a tooth that will be attached to two crowns that go on the neighboring teeth permanently. He said, I would need to be seen by their dental surgeon, Dr. L. Keith Long regarding extracting the lower part of that tooth and it remaining root. I liked their professional, efficient detailed service. I am at this point pleased with switching to this Monarch Dental Office on Bandera, near 1604, right behind Chic Filet Restaurant. At first, I saw them about a year ago. The work I needed was above our budget at the time. I saw Dr Bates last week, 5/31/2022, and again there are some costs to fixed a busted tooth: extracting it, doing a root canal and replacing it with a bridge. However their prices are competitive. And I am getting an extra job to pay for those services. I looked into getting help with the UT Dental School in town, but there were too many bad reviews to go that route. I will update this after my appointments for the above services. Also their cleaning services were done over a year ago. The person who served me was great. I have my cleaning scheduled at the end of August. There's considerable wait times. So schedule your services as soon as possible!
