Even though everything had been properly approved in advance -- tickets purchased and authorization granted to travel with my 5 cats (for 2 passengers) -- I was suddenly told by the attendant, Misung, that I could only bring two bags. There was no clear explanation or attempt to resolve the issue. It honestly left me wondering: was I expected to leave one of my animals behind at the airport? What was even worse was the complete lack of professionalism. In addition to her dismissive attitude, she and another attendant were seen laughing about the situation, as shown in the video. It was public, unnecessary, and deeply humiliating. This is a paid service, and basic respect and professionalism should be the minimum standard which was clearly not the case. Free drinks included coffee, tea, and soda and there was a carafe of water and of lemonade and one of cranberry juice. Free alcoholic drinks consisted of red and white wine. The DOWN SIDE was that less than half of the power outlets worked and some of those that did work the plugs were so worn out that my power plug literally fell out of the outlet. Anyways 4 star experience down rated to 3 stars because of this.

On the bright side, this terminal area has abundant water stations, a good food court area (limited tables), several airline lounges for travelers looking to relax, and even a unique café operated by robots - - including an exhibits by local artists and a small museum! The service wasn't great. The ground crew of United who handled the boarding of my international flight belittled my inability to follow the 'expected boarding process' in front of everyone. I felt that if that person wants to be treated inclusively and respectfully for the person's gender preference the person should treat others with the same understanding the person wants. I should have said something but I was flustered and simply wanted to escape. There is not much choice in shopping in the terminals or diverse food options. To go convenience food costs the same as sit down entrees. Crazy. I did appreciate the shoe shine guy and the choice of gender neutral and male or female bathrooms. This way no one is forced to be uncomfortable. The walk is long to the terminals and security was cramped. Their configuration is not conducive to many people as it bottlenecks. But my friend lives here so we shall be back.

Maybe there should be a Yelp listing for each gate. Kidding. The last time I was in this terminal, I used Gate E4 to board United Airlines flight UA 753, SFO to ATL, nonstop. It was a good gate with comfortable seating and decent views of the tarmac. I sat in one of the swivel chairs by the windows. The fabric was dirty, but not so dirty I wouldn't sit on it. I didn't need to use any power/USB outlets so I don't recall what the situation was for those. The jet bridge wobbled more than I'm used to, while we were waiting in line inside of it. Parked at the gate was a Boeing B737-MAX8/9. Terminal 3 contains the E and F gates. On an ordinary Tuesday morning before 10am, the TSA PreCheck line for Terminal 3 looked long, but moved fast. The estimated wait time was 6 minutes and it was spot-on. Terminal 3 E was busy, but it wasn't overly crowded. I used the men's restroom across from Gate E2. It was clean and comfortable. No issues. The terminal, especially the first part after going through security (where Gates E1-E3 are), looked nice. It appeared to have been updated relatively recently. I looked it up -- according to Wikipedia, "Boarding Area E reopened on January 28, 2014, followed by Terminal 3 East on November 18, 2014." 3 E was similar to other nice, modernized airport terminals I've been in in recent years. The glossy interior reminded me of an upscale shopping mall. I like it. 3 E contains 13 gates, E1 through E13 (no skipped/missing gate numbers here). It's in an L shape and not too big. It has a Burger King and Peet's Coffee, along with other shops and restaurants. Good terminal.

Overall, a very pleasant fly in. When we got back to the tarmac, the whole south end parking was packed with GA planes, probably enjoying Half Moon Bay just like us.
