My wife and I have attended service at Covenant Generations (CGC) for about 2 years now. We LOVE our church and our Pastors, Scotty and Jamie. We found CGC on Joel Osteen's website and Julie fell immediately in love with the Worship and the style of Pastor Scotty. It took me a couple of services to "feel at home" there, and we never left. Let's be more specific:
WORSHIP: Rock-based, with at least 4 Gospel singers on stage, 2 or 3 guitars, 1 bass, 2 keyboards, 1 drum, 1 percussionist. It's lively, and most everyone in the congregation participates loudly. Songs from Hillsong, Jesus Culture, Chris Tomlin, Bethel Music, etc.
MESSAGE: Delivered by Pastor Scotty Gurulé in a direct, no-holds barred manner. Pastor Scotty is close to the biblical text, often quotes multiple translations to give us the unadulterated Word. His message is lively, modern, a complete cure for past church boredom.
PEOPLE: Cool, smiling, non-judgmental. Many families. Low-to-mid income.
DRESS CODE: None. I ride a motorcycle, I come in my motorcycle garb.
TITHING: Advocated but not made mandatory to attend and enjoy service.
CONVENIENCE: Central location at Grant and N. Tucson (between Campbell and Country Club), secured parking lot, overflow parking lots, nursery and sunday school.
If you need to connect with Christ and the Holy Spirit, that's probably your type of church. If you are the Pharisee-type, you won't like it. Guaranteed. read more
