When they have events section 219-220 is complete infuriating, the don't allow you to go up the stairs to access the walk way instead they are rude and tell you you have to another way ! So you go back down and have to cut through seats so anyone sitting in that row has to move to allow you to get to the stairs! The one walk way at the bottom the put chairs and block it off! Every year the OAC events are here we hope we get seats away from this section! It makes the experience for the kids miserable! Do better all parties read more

Upon arrival we went through metal detectors. The security person was rude and shouted at my child to raise their hands while they walk through. Cool, maybe he had a rough night. We made it to our seats, their seats are glorified connected folding chairs with seat numbers written in chalk. I thought whatever it's hockey, I doesn't need to be fancy. Then the sound system came on... It had the fullness and clarity of a Sony Walkman with dying batteries placed next to a 1980s high school secretary microphone playing over the intercom. The restrooms were semi clean and the food was meh. I think given the surrounding areas and the high end businesses it would make sense they would upgrade the arena. read more

This venue is newer and very nice in a mid-size city that has a downtown that appears to have little activity. It's easy to find. There is plenty of parking. Parking fee for a basketball game with Youngstown State was $10. Concessions were comparable to other sports venues. Beers were $9. All seats were good. Sound was good. Staff and volunteers were friendly and helpful. After the game we walked uptown to Avalon Pizza that we found on Yelp. Good choice. read more

So, I think for what it is .... it is great... it is an event space in a small city. We were there for a concert and it had great sound quality. The chairs sucked. But I feel like it should be expected. I feel like our concert was packed, which made moving around during breaks difficult. Also if you got stuck in the smoke break area.... good luck. I dont like the additional fees... I feel like the venue fees are higher than even a PPG or Rocket mortgage... which is concerning. read more

We paid $350 for floor seat for 4 of us. 2 adults and 2 children ages 4 and 7. The kids had a really hard time seeing and were so excited to be there that we were holding them. No one were occupying the seats behind us so we were not blocking any vision. The security guard was so rude to the kids. she would not let us hold the kids. She kept speaking to us being rude. It ruined our entire experience. The kids came happy and excited and left an hour and a half early with tears. We were so disappointed for them. Other kids were doing the same thing. Some kids were standing in the isle to see. We were just holding them up. Sad. read more

Me and the ladyfriend caught Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie (with The Murderdolls) here last night, and despite some childish, drunken fools (we almost got knocked over a few times after people were fighting over things Rob and Alice threw into the crowd and had beer spilled on me), we had an excellent time. The security was on troublemaking skidders like gold diggers on rich old men. Another thing I really liked about the venue was that they actually have people directing traffic in and out of the parking lot, which makes getting in and out of there child's play. They'll even find an open spot for you to park in. The arena itself seems a tad smaller than my hometown's shiny new Consol Energy center. The seating on the floor was general admission for this show, so your view depended on your height (the ladyfriend's a shrimp), the height of those in front of you, and how close you were to the stage, which itself depends on how brave you are being that alcohol can turn concertgoers into needlessly aggressive yahoos. The acoustics were superb and the entire arena lent itself well to the shock rock/horror metal antics of the dual headliners. There were executions, hangings, giant robots, hooded ghoulies, smoke, fire, balloons, confetti, monster movie clips, and undead tarts...in profusion! As soon as The Murderdolls went on, this unassuming hockey rink (go Youngstown Phantoms!) turned into a Halloween party on a level of Hell that was so much fun, fun, fun a go-go, you want to do bad things just so you can end up there. I wore a lucha mask while my date went as Alice In Wonderland...In Chains. The compliments we got. ALLIIICCCCEEEE!!!! ZOOOOMBBIIIEEEE!!!! Wotta fabulous freakfest weekend it was. read more

This was out first time here to see the Freestyle Motocross show on Friday. It was a good experience and the setup of the arena gives the impression that there is not a bad seat in the place. I believe it holds approx 5,000-6,000 at capacity. Anyway, they have been bringing in some national acts in music, sports and the like. I may be back there to take the kids to see the Monster Truck s show in Feb., if I can get tickets. I subtracted one star because parking was $10 and about a block and half away which I know is decent but not when walking with four kids and the temp was 25 degrees. I thought it a good idea to write a review because Youngstown, Ohio tends to get a bad rap or has negative light always shed upon it. The Chevy Centre, only opened for a few years, is one of the bright spots that may help to breath a little life back into the downtown area. read more

I can remember when I first moved here in 2000 and there was talk of an arena being built... nobody thought it would be a good idea, People said it would not last and certainly wouldn't get good acts. Boy were they wrong! I am so glad Eric Ryan and his staff have made this venue what it is. My family has shared countless good times here. From my daughters first circus to seeing her favorite band, Shinedown and nothing will beat her face the first time she saw Elton John. The arena has wonderful acoustics and to be honest there is not really a bad seat in the house. I have watched shows from the front row and I have watched front rows from the VIP area, I have watched shows from the very top[ row of the arena - and I have no complaints. In fact what i will say is that we go all over seeing bands and not only does the layout and sound make it great bit the staff at this venue is one of the nicest staffs we have ever dealt with. Concession ladies, ushers and most of all security are all some of the kindest you will find anywhere around. Mr. Henry and Mr. Tom in security are the best and I always love seeing them at a show. For snacks you will not only find the usual popcorn and nachos but they also have O'Charleys chicken tenders and french fries. The tenders and fries are really good. They also have beer nad wine and I find their cost is reasonable. All in all I do nto find it over priced compared to some places. If you have not experienced a show here, please check one out. I went to the box office to purchase tickets for the professional bull riding show to purchase tickets for my daughter and I. The lady behind the counter was very mean-spirited and told me that the show was pretty much sold out and that I could not get tickets seated together with my eight year old daughter. She said the only tickets that were left or double the price at $40 or there was some that was $75 each and then I would be able to sit by my daughter other than that she probably would just be scared sitting by herself in front of you or behind you. So I just left and I posted on Facebook that I couldn't get any tickets at a good price. My coworker went to the box office after me and got four tickets at $23 each all seated together with his family. I was Furious and I went back and I let them know that there are still seats available at $23 I was able to purchase tickets for myself and my daughter and we were able to watch the 7 o'clock show. But I don't like how the lady at the box-office treated us and tried to decide that maybe me and my daughter should not have been there and if we wanted to be there we should pay double the price or even more to be at that show than other people. That's just not good customer service and it's not good for business. The Covelli Center should really look into the people that they have working at the ticket booth. read more

So, yesterday 11/15/2019, my best friend gave us a huge surprise. She emailed my husband tickets for me to go see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I did not know at the time until we got there what was going on. When we arrived we stood in line then eventually got in. They scanned our tickets and then showed us where our seats were. About 1/4 off the way in a couple shows up and says they have the same seats as us. So, me and my husband get escorted to the Box Office to see what can be done about getting us different seats. Well, needless to say the lady that worked in the Box Office was extremely rude and should no longer have a job. I have never been talked to like that. I explained to her the situation and everything and she proceeded to yell at me that I can buy tickets. No other options given. She walked away from me when I was trying to explain to her what the issue was. When she came back she continued her rudeness and yelling. Then she had me and my husband escorted out of the building. I was treated like I was a criminal. I did nothing wrong besides get times mixed up which technically I didn't even know where I was going until I got there. Honest mistake, but for them to treat me the way they did and then escort me out when I did nothing wrong. I will never come here again. I will not recommend this place to anyone. I hope that everyone reads this and doesn't go there. I have reached out to them and have not gotten a single response from anyone. This is not a way to run a business. read more

For downtown Ytown, this is pretty nice. The security is on top of their game. The parking lot is safe and lit up. You don't get the riff raff from the city there. It's like a mini arena. Great place to see a concert inside. Sometimes they have them outside, which is ok too. Sometimes concerts can be a little more pricey there because they don't have the amount of seats so the prices have to be raised. They are getting bigger acts too. I've seen Buckcherry, Poison, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, and Tool there. read more

I just went to two sold out shows this weekend. Each show had 6100 people. The bathrooms suck. One way in. 6 toilets and 3 sinks. So there's a line for the bathroom, a line for food, line to get in to the section. But no one can move. $ 9 for a 32 oz Lite draft. $6.25 for 12 oz. shots were $8. Hot dog $3.25. Water is $4. Pop was $3.25 and Lgr was $4.50. read more

Came here to see Judas Priest. Had the floor seats. The seats were TINY. There was ONE men's room open. One. I wasn't able to get into the bathroom the entire night. The show itself was incredible but it's like I was sitting/standing in a box because it was such close quarters. Oh, and $4 for a bottle of water that gets poured into a cup? The arena is nice and most of the people seem welcoming, but someone who was checking bags at the entrance took my unopened, completely sealed bottle of water and rudely threw it in the trash. He also questioned my mother when she said she was diabetic, and had to bring in snacks. He did not take them from her, but he was not polite. Also, the bathrooms at the top of the stadium, where we were sitting, were blocked and only handicapped people were allowed to use them, even though they were normal restrooms. We had to walk all the way down the stairs and through the crowd of people to use the restrooms. I was here for a positive experience, and these things immediately put me on the path to have a negative day. I would not recommend this location based on the rapport of the security staff, but if another group was used for it, it may be more acceptable. read more

Saw Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie here last October. We got seats. Pretty much no matter where your seats are, you get a decent view because the place isn't really huge. It was clean...the staff was friendly. Would reccomend! read more

Awesome place to see a concert! Hands down there is not a single bad seat in the house! There is only one bowl in the whole arena so the quote on quote "nosebleeds" are actually in reality like the top row of the lower bowl of my hometowns consol energy center. Now granted the consol energy center is a beautiful building and at the risk of sounding biased I truly think my hometown of pittsburgh has the best venues around. But I do have to admit despite being a steeler fan cleveland browns stadium is definitely nicer than Heinz field. but I digress.....ANYWAYS. So the covelli centre holds about 7900 at full capacity. You look at it from the outside it looks like a cheaply built college gymnasium but you walk in and you will be blown away with how nice it is in there. The covelli centre is definitely without a doubt the nicest thing to see in downtown youngstown and you don't gotta worry about the infamous crime rate in youngstown...which is sad with the whole crime rate thing because youngstown is my second home, the bulk of my family lives 10 miles north in hubbard right on the interstate 80 line but the covelli centre is probably the only place in all of downtown youngstown that is very well kept, secure, and safe to see a concert. Wed., 10-24-18, was when i was at Covelli Ctr. for Keith Urban's fantastic concert. Had a great time, and want to express my thanks to several Covelli staff who made a difference in that 'great time.' First, on arriving, the parking lot staff were out on the street informing drivers that the lot was filled. One of the fellows came down to my car (didn't wait for me to get to him) to tell me the 'filled up' news, then kindly directed me where to turn to try to find a parking place (i did). His helpfulness kept me from what could have been a very stressful time before the concert. Next--when inside Covelli, i thought i had turned the right way to find my seating section...but i didn't. I asked a nearby sanitation worker--who was busy working--which way i should go to find my section. He nicely--didn't act annoyed that i interrupted him from his work--pointed the way...then was so kind to walk me to where i knew where i was going. When i got to the entrance, the section usher was nice and pleasant too. Thanks, Covelli Ctr., for having excellent staff. The Covelli staff i encountered made me feel as if they cared that i had a good time. Fine, friendly staff make a difference when being at a special event! read more
