    Great question. What is this?
    James L.

Free breakfast. No wonder it's free. C'mon Marriott of Monroeville you can definitely do better than this‼ Hope you can see the breakfast pic. SMDH My friend posted his breakfast I think at the downtown location. Big difference.

Place is a complete dump. A new charge around every corner. Big container full of nasty tap water for the guests in the lobby,no business center, laundry out of service, overpriced breakfast options were terrible and the manager was dismissive. Oh and I had a lovely eyesore of a sofa in my room as well. Will be staying down the street next time at Holiday Inn Express.

    Ultra cheap towels.

We stayed in February for my husband's birthday reunion with family. Each night we counted AT LEAST 23 work trucks that took up most parking spots. The two handicapped spots were taken by two Range Rover which one never had the appropriate handicap placard. With my husband's two knee replacements and I with 3 back surgeries, we never could find a spot to park our brand new vehicle. The inside of the hotel stunk from weed it made your eyes water. In the mornings, there were small empty wine bottles lying around. The rooms were not as clean as they used to be. Each time we asked about the parking the staff pushed us off and none of them ever had answers for anything. Note when we got the room I asked if our room was one that was remodeled and we were told yes. Check photos The breakfast is good.

Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed, decent wifi... No free continental breakfast here.... But, they have a bar/restaurant in the lobby area for dinner. The guest laundry is only 1 washer & 1 dryer, so the wait can be ling if others are using. The area is nice, close to the new hospital, Miracle Mile shopping area & Penn Center. Over all I had a great stay stay and recommend.

They seem to be doing renovations and it is an ok place overall. The checkin went smooth. We were told about the bar, pool and exercise room. The rooms were clean and good overall. They had a TV, Microwave, coffee maker and fridge. There was no safe but that was the overall downside for the room. I stayed for two nights and I never got my room cleaned the first night. I sat a pizza box outside my door so maybe this was a sign not to clean my room or give me towels, make my bed or even leave fresh cups for coffee. Maybe it was housekeepings off day. Not sure but I thought this was odd. I asked for towels and coffee cups in the afternoon and they never showed up. I also saw toilet paper and towels hanging from outside doors which makes me think it was not only me. I used the exercise room and the equipments built in TVs did not work. Overall it was good for the price and things will probably be better in time. The staff were slightly attentive. I was also told that the place was going to become a Best Western. Overall the place was also quiet and close to the turnpike and freeways. The beds were also comfortable. I would give it a second try in the future once things have settled.

Hotels like this are super hard to rate. I would recommend it with a lot of caveats. If you're…read moredoing something in downtown Pittsburgh, this isn't convenient. If you're in town for something at the Monroeville convention center, it's maybe a 15 minute drive. The real draw of the place is the price. With fees, I booked it for just a bit more than $86/night. And for that price point, you can deal with a bit of a drive. Like most 1-2 star hotels, it needs some TLC. Replace stained curtain, carpet, or sheets, slap a new coat of paint here or there, tighten this fixture or that. If that is a dealbreaker, don't book. But at least when I stayed here, there was sufficient parking, the A/C worked without sounding like it was birthing gremlins, the place felt safe, and the room smelled like air freshener rather than pot, industrial cleaner, or axe body spray, all of which I've experienced at 1 star hotels. It is also next door to a Dunkin' Donuts, so if you a bit of caffeine to wake you up, it's just a few stumbles away.

Anyway, we reached late at night and got room# 112, it was a non-smoking room but there's always a weird smell when you enter. I have been to other Super 8s, but this room was small in size. it was okay-ish clean but not big enough for 3 people. we paid $120/day and I guess I overpaid. Wifi - it was not enough, very weak. they provide breakfast- its typical items- milk, cornflakes, muffin, bread, bagel, and all. we were there for 2 days and it went fine. It's 20 min drive from Pittsburgh downtown. Parking is there and it's surrounded by ample restaurants and stores.

The hotel was pretty good and near a lot of places I was visiting. There's a Sheetz right next door so you can walk over for drinks and snacks and Four Lokos till your hearts content. The staff was great and it was easy to get in and out with a light on Rt. 22. My only complaint was the pillows. C'mon hotels... give us some acceptable pillows. This hotel was undergoing some renovations in October 2025, so keep that in mind. That just means you may be in a renovated room! The renovations didn't impact my stay at all. Just please renovate those pillows! Those need some reinforcements.

Peeling wall paper, torn up carpet, dirt and grime in many corners. My daughter's socks were black after walking on the carpet without shoes the first night. There was a weird hole over one of our showers too. We had 5 people and enough towels for 4. At breakfast the morning after we checked in my husband asked for additional towels at the front desk. They stated they didn't have access to any and we weren't due for a room refresh until two days after we checked in but housekeeping would get to us when they could since they didn't start until 9. Not very helpful but housekeeping was luckily quick and we were able to get clean and out of the hotel with only a minor delay. Breakfast was mostly tasteless. Highlights for my family were the chocolate milk, waffle station and cereal/yogurt selection. I would skip the eggs, breakfast meats etc. they were bland and the texture was off. It was evident the hotel is cutting corners to save money and that is sad. I expect more out of a Marriott property. We almost exclusively book Marriott properties when traveling. This one was quite the disappointment.
