She started telling us about the mass transit available to get to PNC Park, etc., etc. and was just wonderful. We had been upgraded to a suite based on our status, and it was fantastic. The living room had a fireplace. Wanted to stay the other two days we were going to be in Pittsburgh, but would be monetarily penalized if we canceled our other reservations so unfortunately, we had to leave. The only negative thing I could say about this hotel was the breakfast the following morning. The breakfast buffet itself was OK , but the employee remained behind the doors in the back for the majority of the time. Several tables were left with dirty dishes, etc, no cups for waffle battler, no cups for tea/coffee. When he did come out, he shouted his name across the dining room and said if anybody needed anything, just ask him. Then he went back behind the doors.... Breakfast aside, the next time we visit Pittsburgh , definitely staying here.

My room didn't get cleaned either

Here's our experience. 1) Check-In + Parking) Smooth process. I recommend pulling up at valet to offload and then using the parking garage nearby at 200 Smithfield Street. We paid $10 for a Saturday overnight. It's much cheaper than using the hotel's parking. 2) Rooms: Our room (608) was small, but we're used to that living in a major city and often visiting even bigger ones. The room felt like a NYC size room. Despite that, the beds were very comfortable, the room kept clean, and the views of downtown Pittsburgh are beautiful. 3) Amenities: The location is incredible if you enjoy downtown areas of cities. Breakfast on the second floor is included and comes with many options- waffle station, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, yogurt, pastries, juice, and coffee.

I stayed here one night because I thought the trendy Bloomfield neighborhood would provide a nice change-of-pace from the more established downtown area. I was also planning to drive to upstate New York and thought this would be a convenient location for a faster getaway. Well, a sudden winter snowstorm forced me to cancel the side trip to New York, and I ended up spending very little time exploring Bloomfield because I took a long nap in my room after a sleepless night in the previous hotel. Even though it was bordering on pointless to shift to this hotel, I still enjoyed the studio I reserved for $152. There was a comfortable king bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a corner sofa, and a 360-degree swivel flatscreen TV. It was a lot of amenities I didn't need, but hey, it was freezing cold, so the apartment set-up made it feel cozy. One other advantage was a sizable lot to park my rental SUV. Even though they offered a happy hour and continental breakfast, I skipped both. Instead I braved the cold and just strolled on Baum to find a decent greasy spoon for dinner and a quiet gay bar for a drink. Not a bad stay, and I'd consider a return to explore Bloomfield. The lobby area was really pretty and so much larger than it appears from outside. Free breakfast! The pool was nice and heated. We had it to ourselves both times we went in it during our stay. The hotel is located is a great area. Cons: It seems like the furniture was poor quality. Multiple times during the stay there was a panel that kept falling off the table in the kitchen area. The parking is pricey. I absolutely hate paying for parking. I wish this came with the hotel stay as it was also already priced on the higher end. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. I would probably pick a day that didn't fall on a holiday weekend for a less expensive stay.

The service was truly awful from the valet service to housekeeping. The valets look at you when you pull up and don't even stand up to get your keys. Everything was below average and I feel totally ripped off. I do not recommend!

Essential positives for us were the very comfortable king bed, easily set and quickly achieved temperature and constant fan setting for white noise. Nice pluses were comfy sofa, mini refrigerator and freezer, microwave, k-cup machine, two suitcase tables and nearby ice machine. Mr enjoyed their courtesy breakfast. Bravo Italian restaurant adjacent to the Inn provided a delicious take-out meal - just affordable if you choose carefully (Alfredo Chicken $20). Negatives: The room and bathroom were reasonably clean. However, there were warnings in the bathroom about the lucite shower bar which was putty'd in place in lieu of replacing missing screws; the toilet was way too close to the tub even for my slim-hipped husband; the parking lot contained a wrecked car and overall the exterior and halls were scruffy-looking.

I debated between a rating of 3 and 4 for this hotel. We were traveling between Michigan and…read moreVirginia, and needed a hotel for one night that had easy access to the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) yet was far enough away that we weren't kept awake by the traffic noise. We found a king room at this hotel on Hotels.com for under $100 ($93.24 to be exact, including taxes; Thursday night, June 2023) that included free breakfast and free parking. There were many things to like about the hotel. -- Check-in was a breeze, and staff (Andrew?) was highly responsive to our request to identify a room that would be quiet; -- The actual room was well-appointed and clean. It included a tv, small fridge, microwave, Keurig machine with coffee and tea, and basic toiletries. -- The bed and pillows were comfortable. -- Importantly, the curtains darkened the room, and we were far enough from traffic noise to enjoy a good night's sleep. -- The free breakfast was good (but more limited in selection than some other chain hotels we stayed in recently). It included two hot items (scrambled eggs and sausage), and many other options (cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, muffins/breads, oranges, and orange and apple juices (both seemed diluted). There was sufficient seating in the breakfast area, but the food serving area was in a tight quarters. -- Free parking. However, -- The hotel is "hidden" off the road behind a restaurant. We missed the entrance at first pass, and ultimately our room and parking were behind the trash containers for that restaurant. The "curb appeal" of the hotel was lacking and was somewhat dingy, as were some of the dark hallways, but the actual rooms were much nicer and updated. -- **. The two-story hotel also has an odd layout -- an L shape with multiple entrance doors and inter-connected hallways. We were near the "C" hallway, and the security features of that external door were broken. In theory, we needed to use our room key to enter the building but that feature was broken -- meaning that anyone could enter through that door and gain access to the full hotel but of the interconnected hallways. Obviously, this is a security issue and is the main reason I decided upon a 3-star rather than 4-star rating for the hotel.

I had the unfortunate displeasure planning my stay in Pittsburgh at this hotel. Right from the start, I was told that my room (which I paid for in advance) was not paid for because the third-party supplier (booking.com) sent a card that was declined. The man at the front desk said that this has been going on with multiple third-party booking sites (not just booking.com) for several weeks now, and I would have to call them to figure it out. He said we were the third one that day and there'd been five from the night prior. While we were trying to find a number for booking.com (since he was no help in directing us on who to call) he was fielding calls from angry people for the exact same reason. People who had no resolution to the problem were demanding compensation for their purchase. He said that he would be talking to "them" (behind the mysterious door) about it, and someone would come out to speak to me shortly. He was very inconvenienced by me wanting the room that I paid for. After 3 separate calls to booking.com, each about 25 minutes a piece and all in the busy hotel lobby trying not to seem unreasonable or angry, he did not want to send screenshots of the problem he was having on his end to email given by booking. Finally, over an hour and a half of me getting to the hotel after my 4-hour drive, a woman emerged from the mysterious door. I asked if she was the woman I was waiting for. She had no idea I was waiting for anyone. She asked if me and my significant other wanted a water or something to eat while we waited for a resolution. I reiterated that I just wanted a resolution considering I made my payment on my end, and the problem they were having with their vendor was not MY problem. After finding out that I had already paid, she told the man at the front desk to get me a room and they would handle their business with their business partners, Booking.com. The man behind the desk HAD THE NERVE TO PROTEST IT! He then grudgingly had me put a $100 hold on my card for incidentals and $39 for parking and gave me a room key. The story doesn't end there! The next day, a woman was working the desk. After being given a room by the man at the front desk and staff in the back, she explained that the problem was never resolved and I would need to pay an ADDITIONAL $130 dollars because they couldn't conduct business with their third-party booking site. After refusing, the woman said the card on file would be charged either way. So now I'm out $151 from Booking.com, $39 for parking, and $130 double-charge for the night I already paid for in a room that was smaller than it appeared in pictures. At least I know what I'm getting when I book with Marriot.
