This was our second experience here. The first time was much better. Upon arrival our room wasn't ready yet so we got a cocktail that was overly priced for one being a mocktail and the pina colada was way too icey but I didn't send back. We did receive a complimentary upgrade that was much appreciated but the distance was too far for my family member that has mobility issues so they offered us a wheelchair to use for our stay and the second night transitioned us into a better distanced room for their needs. This time of year is insanely buggy and the gnats were HORRIBLE. The pool was covered on the second day in dead gnats floating in the water. The room plants need to be ripped up as they contribute to gnats on the balconies. The beds must have been traded out because they are HARD as a rock. There was a gentleman in the front appearing to be a manager I don't get his name- he was great. Marriott needs to train their staff on helping those in wheelchairs and mobility issues. IF YOU SEE SOMEONE coming to a door that doesn't automatically open. Please help, it's the kind human thing to do... it takes 5 seconds to hold the door and give someone a smile. We probably won't be back to this location based off of the majority of the staff lack of compassion & the beds being rock hard. After spending $300+ in the off season nightly if doesn't sit well.

My wife and I stayed at the Residence Inn/Courtyard. The staff were very friendly and professional. We appreciated the upgraded room and enjoyed the great view of the ocean and pool. We also dined at The Shores and our server was awesome, she was very friendly and fast. Great job, highly recommend. Jekyll Island was amazing, glad we decided to stop in and enjoy it.

After 1hr still hot at 11:30 pm hot hot hot - stay clear !!!

NO AC!!!! HOT!!!! Ac has ecomode which means you have to be in the room for it to work. Paid $300+ and after driving 6hrs get to a room at 10:45pm in August in Georgia and the room is scorching hot upon arrival at 78-79. After 45 min it's still 75 in here. Then asked and they said if you leave the room goto beach etc during day AC will shut off and takes about 1-2 hrs after you return to cool. Went down talked to front staff about switching to cooler room checked another ocean front room and sam Unbelievable. Not acceptable .

Location is key. Right on the beach and zillions of sand dollars to scavenge. Check in was ok. Not very hospitable. The bartenders made up for it. They were excellent. What you should know is that there are mosquitos and gnats everywhere. You MUST, and with emphasis on MUST, have bug spray. Use cans of it! This Island is a marsh and you will get eaten alive. It is very unfriendly to humans. Hotel rooms should come with bug spray on this Island, automatically. You cannot even enjoy the pool/hot tub. It is painful but beautiful at the dame time. Walking to/from car us a risk!!!!

The staff and stay was phenomenal! Customer service is on 10 at this location! Mama, Ashley at the bar, Shane, Maurice-- all super helpful and accommodating. The hotel was quite busy during my stay, my requests were granted in a timely manner, and they had a nice handle on things. We were attending an event at The Westin and we opted for (and much preferred) the vibes (and live music) here at our bar instead. The hotel itself is new and quite nice w/ great amenities and "resort fee credit" offers. I loved the Courtyard/Residence Inn "mashup" concept that it's giving. My suite was spacious with an awesome layout. Overall, great stay and I'll be back to give the pool and beach a whirl when it warms up!

Very underwhelming experience at the Courtyard. Based on my visit, this hotel is in serious need of being updated. The carpeting in my room was covered in stains. When I was in the living room/sitting area, the remote wouldn't work on the TV, so I went to try and figure out what was happening. The mounting at the top of the bracket was busted, where the TV was hanging forward, and it was pushing the bottom of the TV in where the receptor couldn't pick up the remote signal. I tried to straighten the TV out, but it was completely broken and I'm not on Marriott's payroll to fix things. In the bathroom, there was a picture hung too high, so they rehung the picture a few inches lower. They just left the holes in place from the original screws, no attempt to patch, and it just looks janky. I bumped this review up one star, to a two star overall, based on the wonderful views that you get from a generously sized deck coming off of the oceanfront room.

We made reservations at this hotel as a getaway for Thanksgiving it's been a few years. We arrived Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving at check in the representative asked me for a credit card for incidentals, Upon getting in the room we were surprised that the room was not clean, stains on the carpet food on the floor, hair, just dirty we took pictures and went to the front desk and they said that they should have cleaned better. They did not even get us a clean room we just tried to deal with what we had and ended up going to sleep. The next morning I opened the curtains to see the beach and turned the sunlight showed just how dirty the room was. I again went to the front desk and told them so e decided to go to the free breakfast they had boxed eggs that were not cooked all the way and leftover shrimp according to the staff that bacon hash browns were not ordered it was terrible the staff in the cafeteria area was less than happy with the manager which they spoke out in front of the guest, We went to our room and the breakfast made us sick, Last time we visited they had Thanksgiving dinner in the front restaurant a real nice setting this year it was moved to a conference room and it looked like they forgot a few things especially for $54 a plate so we got our money back and went to the pub down the road ended up having potato soup when I got back to the Marriott I went to the desk and asked to leave early they allowed me to check out especially with all the issues. We left I would not recommend the Marriott on Jekyll to anyone

Dock to beach from Courtyard

First time to Jekyll Island, GA. Nice property and staff. They gave us a hotel credit to offsite the Island's mandatory daily resort fee. All the amenities for stay on the beach can be found at this Courtyard-eat, drink, relax, sleep...repeat.

Know what you're getting into and just go with it. Just a few little funky things that were not deal breakers for us at all but are worth noting as examples of what's in store...The non optional bathroom fan/light is so loud you can't speak over it, and it's pitch dark in there, so bring your own nightlight if you don't navigate new spaces well at night. Also, the water is a bit sulfur-y so bring your own (or buy a gallon at the nearby Circle K) if you're sensitive to it. The hot tub and pool were clean and very comfortable, but don't forget to ask for towels from the kind, helpful staff at the front desk. We loved the kitchenette and hanging out on the balcony watching the waves and sunrise with our morning beverages. We also 100% appreciated to bike shop located just steps from our room. There was ample parking, neighbors who are quiet, a wholly adequate hot breakfast that was included, a cute little meeting/gathering room offering movies and a book club which would be sweet for those staying longer. I don't think we moved our car once in 3 days. Also loved having bit of a distance from all the monster hotels-close enough to bike to beaches, trails, restaurants, etc, but we'll out of the hubbub. We'd come back again, for sure.

Used to come here often as a kid and my high school graduation was on Jekyll back in 1980. Came in to town for a family wedding and stayed here. First family member here checked in on Thursday. We were supposed to have an ocean view unit and they said all they could see was a tree. The next day they were moved to a second floor unit with a beautiful ocean view. We stayed here two nights and had zero complaints. Other than the weather which of course was nobody's fault. Very rainy and chilly all weekend. Unit was clean. Beds were comfortable. Good wifi. Price was reasonable. The parking lot was pretty dark and very hard to see the parking place lines due to them being worn and because of the rain but not a big deal. The wedding reception was also here and everything was great. Nice weekend with family.

I went to lobby on 5/2 @ 8 pm and was checking amt for 1 more night and given a price of 110.62 for the night after customer rep checked w/ mgr. which certainly worked for me . came right up on cr cd. Then on Tuesday @ 4:59 am received another charge of $80.25 , which made the price for one nt over $190. if this price was given on Saturday, I certainly would not have stayed !! Extremely upset , called lobby Tues am & spoke w asst mgr. @8:30 am , who was very rude, talked over me as I explained I would have just left Monday as my reservation was from Mon thru mon. for a week.! She replied this was a mistake quoted but I asked why wait till the Tuesday early am to charge extra! If I had know on Sun/Mon am. I certainly would have just stayed my week and left on Monday @ departure time. They had plenty of time time to advise me of mistake and would have left on Monday as previously planned! Always before have been treated very fairly , but this was INEXCUSABLE ! As additional problem I had to get disin. spray from office on Monday April 27th evening check in because of bad odor & musty in condo. It appeared the carpet had not been cleaned in quite a while! This rep was very apologetic and gave me a can of spray which helped .

This place has been brilliant. Other than the place having entirely too many parking lot spaces…read morereserved for electric cars, the place is perfect. The continental breakfast is the best I've ever seen (scrambled eggs, grits for us coastal dwellers, hash browns for everyone else, sausage, cereal for the kids, oatmeal for anyone who wants a warm belly, waffle makers, bagels and English muffins, fresh fruit, coffee, hot water for tea, juice, & refrigerated milk). If the free breakfast doesn't suit you, there is also a Starbucks kiosk in the lobby for anyone who must get their fix. The grounds are well maintained, the rooms are spotless, the lobby feels welcoming. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful (we kept hearing a beeping in our room and the night audit person was upstairs helping us look for in within a handful of minutes... our room had a dishwasher which was closed but had a function that needed to be canceled (I didn't even realize our room came with a dishwasher, I suspect they don't all have those but NICE). There are also staff in the breakfast room who will pick up your dirty dishes when you are done eating. The property is on the beach. Currently, you cannot turn on patio lights cause the turtles are laying nests and bright lights may confuse them.

Oh and the safe wasn't working. We call down for a swatter, linens and another vacuuming and are assured it will be fixed. After a few hours I go to the front desk and the manager tells me that maintenance blew him off but they'll do it now. Guy shows up with a shop vac and does a mediocre job- but he's really nice. Another guy shows up to fix the safe and he's exactly the type I DON'T want knowing I have items in a safe... but that's life. Note to hotel staff, pull your pants up and don't sneer like I'm a blood on a crip block. At the bar the bartender gives a generous pour for my old fashioned, but serves it warm. I request ice and chill the drink for her. I think they charged $23 for it. She's very nice though. Dinner was too crowded, so we came back at 8 and the crowd had died down. We order kids pizzas, a salad and shrimp/grits. After an hour of being ignored by our waitress with empty glasses we flagged down F&B manager Kurt who made our food appear within a few minutes and was very conciliatory. He comped dinner fully, which was extremely nice. Oof, so many things wrong here. We'll go elsewhere next time. Edit: just got out of the shower and noticed several curly black hairs stuck to the wall at eye level. I don't know what the heck they're doing there but that's just gross and scary. -3 stars from my initial review. Run away screaming from this hotel.
