We requested housekeeping every day, they forgot/ignored to pick up the washcloth 2 out of 4 nights. They never replaced the toilet paper, we ran out of them at the last night. If we are in Milwaukee, chances are, we are staying at this Marriott. The first time we stayed here it was because they are dog friendly and we were traveling with our sweet puggle. They treated her like the queen she was. She passed way not very long after our first visit and we could have decided to go a different hotel, but we liked our visit so much, we decided to stay again and again and again. Always clean, rooms ready on time and we are always greeted with a smile. We probably won't be visiting Milwaukee as much as we used to, but we will be back someday and we will be staying at the Courtyard! read more

Extremely disappointed with my room. Was in for a week and the only high point was the manager was able to extend my reservation for an additional night in a sold out hotel (Summer Fest coming to town). This hotel is connected to the 3rd Street Market complex where my office is located. Pros: * Nice complex, 3rd Street Market a plus * Self Park was very convenient and easy to use with a QR Code * Linens and towels were clean Cons: *The room appeared clean but the room stunk like dirty shoes (feet)... all week long. Even had a meal in there to try to change the smell. No luck * HVAC unit was cooling but was very humid. My least favorite thing about Marriott but this one was extra bad. I ended up turning it off due to the humidity - probably why the room smelled * Bathroom floor was very hairy, ended up cleaning it myself * Shower curtain was too long and in the bottom of the tub, getting nasty * Tub faucet and temp handle was very rickety, both about to fall off it felt like, hard to adjust water temp * Mold in the sink I generally go to Hilton because of the HVAC units at Marriott but thought I would try this one because of it's location to my office. We stayed at this Courtyard location for two nights while exploring Milwaukee. The room was clean and spacious and I was so happy when I could turn the air conditioner temperature down to the low 60's. I like to sleep with cooler temps. One little hiccup we had was that after one of us showered the water was not draining, someone was able to come up and get it fixed though and it wasn't a big problem. That may have been why the room seemed a been musty and humid when we first came in too. This location makes parking easy with self park in and out privileges with an easy barcode and the 3rd Street Market Hall is connected so there are a lot of food and entertainment options available without even needing to step outside. You'll most likely want to go outside though, there are plenty of businesses and restaurants within walking distance. We appreciated that they had a mini fridge and a microwave in the room and downstairs they have a lot of space, tables, chairs and loungers to hang out, work or take meetings. read more

The best thing about this hotel is that it's conveniently located. The King Studio Suite (corner room) was spacious, but dated. It also comes with a mini fridge and a microwave. The mini fridge was too cold though. I put a glass bottle inside and it exploded during the middle of the night. Our room windows faced the dumpsters. In the morning, we heard the garbage trucks. We were awake at that time though, or it would've been annoying. There is a food hall (3rd St Market Hall) attached to the building, so you don't need to go far for food. This trip may have cost my company millions of dollars! I'm in town on business but was also trying to close a sale for a big client. Had multiple video calls I needed to take. Absolutely terrible internet. Calls kept dropping, client kept saying they could not hear me. I had to use my mobile phone as a hot spot but of course this is a dead area for Verizon. It's post-pandemic 2021 and a downtown hotel without Internet is simply inexcusable. read more

We stayed for one night over the weekend and have no real complaints other than the lack of a view from the rooms in the back of the hotel that overlook air-conditioning units and are adjacent to the garage. There was a nice driveway which was covered so if there is inclement weather you can get your bags out of your vehicle without getting pelted by precipitation. Have not been to a Courtyard in a while and it was fun to see the new check in area with three separate "desk" stations for the different receptionist. It had a space-age feel. Each room had a fairly large refrigerator, very tasty coffee packets and all of the other normal amenities. We were on the fourth floor just next to the garage and it was quiet. There is a cafe offering Starbucks coffee in the lobby as well as plenty of seating with three or four mini cubicles each with their own TV. If needing to stay in downtown Milwaukee I would certainly consider staying here again. read more

Ooooof. I've stayed at a number of Marriott properties over the past few years, and I wanted to like this hotel. However, this is the worst Marriott hotel I've experienced, and isn't far from the bottom of my list for all chains. I was placed in a handicap accessible room without being told, the bed skirt and curtains had noticeable stains on them, the paint was in rough shape in the bathroom (see pictures for all three), and the outlets were so worn that plugs could easily fall out. Did I mention that a number of rooms face a garbage area where you'll hear the banging of a large number of dumpsters in the morning? I emailed the general manager of the hotel with the conditions because a note on the desk said to do so - and no response. To say that I'm disappointed would be an understatement. read more

Stayed here a few nights and was not impressed. It has all the features of a Courtyard - the lobby, the bar, the restaurant, the exercise room, etc. The room, however, was a bit of a let down. The bed was too soft, the room had a bit of a moist smell, the air conditioner was too loud, the window didn't open, the sink took forever to get hot water (though the shower was quick) and the fan in the toilet area was also loud. The free wifi was very slow in the evenings. I won't choose this property again - the Fairfield two blocks away is refreshed recently and I like that one a ton more. UPDATE: I received an email from the GM of the property apologizing for the room. "I am very sorry that we did not meet your expectation. I had my engineer make sure that the items you had mentioned were addressed. I understand our rooms are a little dated and we are addressing that by the end of the year." read more

This place almost gave me a heart attack! I booked a room for graduation weekend (May) in SEPTEMBER. About 2 weeks before graduation I started getting emails saying they were overbooked and asking me if I wanted to stay at their airport location. Um no, I picked this location because we could walk where we wanted to go. Well, those emails kept coming and they kept sweetening the pot, "we will upgrade you to a suite", "free parking" and lastly "we will pay for your room". That last one was tempting, but Marquette and University of Wisconsin Milwaukee have graduation ON THE SAME DAY IN THE SAME AREA, so you do NOT want to drive. I held out. When I got the notification on the Bonvoy app that I could check in, I thought that enough people had caved and we were all set, but I called anyway. The hotel manager said that they were still overbooked and there was no guarantee and we might get relocated anyway. My blood pressure was at a boiling point and my husband would not let me drive to Milwaukee. When we arrived they told me I was lucky, they had 20 rooms left. They told me they had 2 weddings, graduations and a volleyball team staying there. I don't care, I booked my room, I shouldn't have had to go through that. The site itself was going through some renovations. Our hallway had some tools strewn about when we checked in and they were gone the next day. Our room was nice and clean, but we had a tv problem. We wanted to watch the Brewers vs. Cubs game, but it was blocked. It was only available in the bar. Ok, but we couldn't get other channels and son #4 was kind of wiped out so we contacted maintenance. They told us it was the dish and moved the tv around and it was fine. The location of this hotel is good. There is a parking garage next to it. Use that, do not use the valet. We left our car in the garage for the weekend and walked around. Short of the hassle of the renovations, our stay was good, but the whole "relocate" pressure left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

My family and I stayed at this place for two nights for a sport tournament. Check-in was easy. Valet guy was friendly and offered me the pricing rates for parking; valet or self-park. I opted for the self-parking ramp since it was cheaper and I preferred to drive my own vehicle. I parked on the third floor and return to the hotel through the connected building, avoiding the cold night chills. I checked back in with Guest Services so they can register my vehicle to get in/out services. We got the fourth floor with queen size beds. Near the doorway are the closet, sink and bathroom. The window lookout to the area where the dumpsters are located. There is a big TV that allows you to enable your Netflix account. We watched "Good Girls" when we were in the room. Sound system is nice and loud. There are lamps between the two beds for each side. There's also a nice USB outlets for multiple devices. We used the small refrigerator to store drinks. It didn't seem that cold until after I changed the temperature dial. There is a pool area with a hot tub. My kids loved the pool area, though it was pretty busy during the daytime until closing time. The place just finished renovation and the dining areas looks nice. There's an microwave in the snack area near the lobby. There are also couches, a TV, desks and outlets for guests to use for waiting. Checking out was also easy. I was able to use the parking ramp until the time expired for that day. Overall, I would come here again. Also, for those who are Pokémon fanatics; there is a gym across the street. read more

Upon checkin, housekeeping was called twice for much debris under the sofa sleeper and a bag full of soiled sleeper sofa linens left behind for us to use. This was how your hotel is presented and bad enough. Then although I prepaid, I get charged another $226 for my room totaling well over $500 for this hotel for the one night. Are you kidding? To confirm the price, book it, and then they change it after check in? This hotel has very slippery dealings with my credit card. read more

I stayed here for labor day weekend. I was surprised that the manager sent an email and a note to my room about their recent improvements. This place is pretty close to everything. The staff was friendly and check in was straight forward. The rooms were decent and is highly comparable with other courtyard's I stay at. Parking ramp is right next door and they charge straight to your room and that pretty easy. Usually across all the courtyards I have stayed at, this place doesn't have coffee at the lobby. Very surprising. The room's shower knob was held by a screw and i was a little hesitant to use it. It kind of looked it was broke. The gym had new equipment which was really good. This family friendly hotel specializes in delight and, thanks to the attentive staff, I give it FIVE STARS! They gave my 4y old son a welcome gift and he won a prize for finding a hidden turkey - he was super thrilled with both. The bistro breakfast was convenient and satisfying. They even brought a microwave to our room at my request. The location is fantastic, minutes from the train station, public market and children's museum. The pool temperature is perfect and it has plenty of towels. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and we will most definitely be back! read more

I think this is a pretty typical Courtyard. The room was clean, tub/shower area could have been updated a bit - slightly crumbly. The hotel was very quiet at night. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The lobby area was quite comfortable. You can walk to many places from here - Public Market is about 10 minutes away, convention center is about 5 minutes away. The hotel is attached to what's basically a dying mall - aside from a Walgreens there's not much there. There's no real coffee or quick food options immediately surrounding the hotel. We had breakfast at the hotel - it wasn't amazing and it was a bit expensive but pretty in-line with my expectations. All in all it was a pleasant stay and I'd go back for certain. read more

We found Blood on our sheets. (DISGUSTING) We discussed it with the Gen Mgr Barb who gave us a credit. However, when you spend $700 on a room, you do not expect this filth. We advised Barb that we would be leaving and placed the, "No Housekeeping," sign on the door. She told me to just check in when we return and Housekeeping would come in and then change the sheets. We returned about midnight to find that they entered our room anyway!! Not sure if my credit cards, which were left in my purse, in our room, have been compromised. There was pubic hair from a previous guest in the bathtub and around the base of the toilet. They are charging $22 for parking at a lot that does not belong to them. Wow- ever since Sheraton and Marriott merged...service gets worse and worse. This property is in desperate need of a remodel. Rooms were run down, and furniture was really in tough shape. My first room I was put in was moldy and stank. I asked to change rooms and it was just as dirty, but no mold. Also, when did water become an expensive commodity?? A higher 3 star rating. Almost a four, the room was quite nice. Good bed but didn't love the pillows. Nice big fridge, tv was Netflix enabled so yeehaw, but it was on the side of the bed, so dumb setup. Decent bathroom, fixtures were a bit dated and water never got super hot, but it did the trick. The staff was mostly nice, except the two late evening guys who all but ignored us at the convenient 24/7 snack shop, while chatting away between themselves. The breakfast Bistro was surprisingly delicious for its humble appearance. It was a nice alternative to the traditional continental breakfast or self-serv buffet. Only REAL complaint was that the pool was really nasty. Floaties AND sinkies! Nasty! Didn't wait to find out what they were... uggghh! The hot-tub seemed ok, so we stayed in there. We had a block of rooms for our wedding here in 2007, and recently returned for the first time since then. This is a nice hotel, well-kept, and they have a parking deck right next door. When we stayed in 2007 there was an on-site restaurant. This time it had been converted to an area where people can lounge, but no more restaurant. I had a wonderful stay at the Courtyard Milwaukee Downtown. A friend of mine was getting married and this was the hotel that she had a block at for her guests to stay. Every day, we were greeted with very friendly staff at the front desk. They answered all our questions about places to eat in town, and bars/pubs to hang out at. Our room was nice, larger than I thought it would be. The TV was a little bit old, but it worked just fine. Didn't really have any complaints about the bathroom/shower/sink area. The carpets were a little older looking, but that's why you wear shoes. Free Wi-Fi in the room, which was nice. The location is great, in the middle of everything. Tons of bars and restaurants in the area, some within walking distance and others just a short cab ride. Best part about the Courtyard Milwaukee Downtown's location? You can learn a lot about the customer service at a hotel by seeing them handle sudden crowds of people passing through who are not staying overnight. On Labor Day, throngs of Milwaukee workers staging for the start of the annual parade tromp through here, and even though it was rainy and messy, the lobby was kept reasonably clean, the workers stayed friendly, and I got a nice cup of steaming hot coffee without much of a wait. read more

Best place ever if you're ever in Milwaukee I'm from Hawaii and the staff here reflect the meaning of Aloha and really value hospitality. Tonya and Emily at the Bistro are extremely nice. I've been here 28 days total and will be here for another 28 days for work. I will continue to come back and enjoy the great staff! The staff was very friendly and helpful and so were other guests. Furniture was comfortable and room temperature was controllable. The hotel itself was fine. The room was clean and the staff was nice. However, parking is a significant issue. The hotel does not own it's parking structure so you will need to get your ticket validated by the desk clerk at the hotel every time that you exit from the garage. Parking is $22/day. The exit gate in the parking structure is unattended. When we were checking out, the staff member who checked us out indicated that our ticket was validated. However, when we arrived at the gate the ticket did not work. We ended up paying with a credit card to exit. When I called the hotel, they indicated that I should have pressed an "attendant" button on the gate and that I was just out of luck. This was due to the fact that the garage and the hotel were under separate management.... In my opinion, the hotel staff should have rectified this confusing situation by sorting it out with the garage - at the end of the day, we paid twice for the last day of our stay - once to the hotel and once to the garage. Lesson learned on our part but we will not return to this hotel. There are many better options in downtown Milwaukee. Update: The hotel contacted me about the situation. They have refunded my $22. The parking should have been validated at the hotel desk. I very much appreciate the hotel resolving the issue with me. As I mentioned above, we were overall satisfied with our visit. Our only issue was with the last day's parking which has now been resolved by the hotel. read more

I recently met a co-worker for a meeting here. That said, I did not stay and cannot comment on the rooms. Located across from a small park and on Michigan, this Marriott was a pleasant surprise. I expected a run-down hotel lobby. I was wrong. They sank some dough and added color and contemporary throughout the lobby. It was very quiet which I appreciated. The front desk was very friendly which always makes for a good first impression. The biggest asset was the cafe. From sandwiches, breakfast staples, and customizable coffee drinks one can quickly grab something in a hurry. My only regret was to ask to see a room. I'm curious to see if it matched the flair of the lobby or if it would be a disappointment. Maybe next time. read more

Hotel in a Mall. Beer in a Mall. That's the Milwaukee mindset; that's rather pragmatic really. Not only buying shirts saying "beer" on them for us tourists, but drinking the beer is a tourist-y thing to do. Milwaukee makes me damn happy to be a tourist. I highly recommend testing this Marriott to their full limits, so find 17 guys in your city (like Los Angeles) and get them to fly to MKE & stay here. I don't blame the Scotty at the front desk to ask for the full payment in advance, considering he knew it was a Bachelor Party coming to town. Interesting tidbit...so you can get around putting down a CC for incidentals if you give them $20/night/per room? Strange, huh. $20 didn't cover the flower pot someone smashed, and they didn't seem to care. Now...I am not promoting anyone to go and bust a flower pot...I just see this as a lucid example of how kind they are/how kind Milwaukee is. Their King Suite has a living room, which is wonderful for meetings, group travel for down time/lounge time in the room. A hot tub & pool area which is cozy with a coffee maker pitcher full of beer (and, I think it's the culture of Milwaukee...b/c they didn't seem to mind the keg through the lobby and directly to the room). These folks were so accommodating that a member of my party complained about the woman complaining about him, and they asked her to move to another floor. Go Milwaukee! iPod/iPhone charger/dock/stereo in every room! Parking is $15 a day, that's the big hang up for this place. Downtown parking is all around an annoyance. I booked this hotel after looking extensively into different downtown hotels for a ladies weekend. We decided to go with location and price, not planning to spend much time in the actual room. The Courtyard letting me book the room for five adults eventually sold it for me. Check-in was painless, parking was nearby but $15 per night as expected. The problems started when we returned home late Friday evening and we realized we only had three sets of towels and still no cot. I called down to the front desk but the phone didn't work for in-house calls. We tried numerous times, both available lines, and it was just a beeping busy signal. Finally I made an outside call to the hotel desk, but later was charged for it, even though I explained that I couldn't get through to the front desk and was using an outside line to get ahold of someone. Then they told us we couldn't add a cot to a room with two queen beds (fire hazard), even though I had booked the room online for five people. They offered us an upgrade to a bigger room where we would have a sofa sleeper, but didn't give me a straight answer as to whether this would cost more and it was already midnight. Apparently the shift changed during all this and a much less bitchy, more helpful guy told us if the cot would fit in the room he would have it brought up. From that point on, besides the consant annoyance and lack of attention to the phone issues, it was pretty smooth. Plusses: The room was nicely decorated, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom clean. In person the staff were quite pleasant and helpful Because of the service issues and the ignored phone problem, I'm not sure I would stay there again, but our issues were rather unique to our situation. Guess who won another booking on Priceline! Yes yours truly! A random night in Milwaukee i won a bid and got this hotel! Ive been here before. The upgrade to the lobby and eatery area in the hotel is evident through the door. This creates a wonderful ambiance in the lobby. Huge TVs also shine in the entrance. I was lucky to have a wonderful desk clerk who made my snowy and cold wintry night. I followed the elevator to my room which had a view of Michigan Ave. I was able to see all of the cars get ticketed and towed because of our winter snow rules. The room was nice, modern linen and drapery. I would make another check in sometime in the future. When we finally settled in we notice that the pillows were dirty and the room hasn't been cleaned properly. Stayed here for a night whilst in MKE. The hotel is within reasonable walking distance to Milwaukee Public Market, which is nice... makes for a good morning stroll in downtown MKE. Think I've stayed at Courtyard a few times in NorCal, so the experience in MKE felt pretty consistent down to the decor. I actually prefer the fall colors and turf tablescape at Courtyard vs. Marriott which sometimes seem to be lacking in personality. At this Courtyard, they have plenty of seating and table space, and all the furniture seemed fairly new and well kept. Didn't get to use all the amenities as we were barely there for a night, but the free wifi was definitely fully utilized. For the cheapos and travelers, they also have free snacks and fruits that seem to change everyday, so be sure to grab some! read more
