I arrive from California at 1 AM due to a flight delay. I was greeted by a young man who gave me my key and I went up to the room. First, the bathroom was not working and I could not flush the toilet. Second, there were no water bottles in the room. We have spent a lot of money around the world at Marriott Bonvoy. I was too tired from my trip and in the morning, I went down to the front desk to let them know that the bathroom was not working and I asked if they gave water bottles or were they in the room? The woman at the front desk told me that the maintenance people were not there and the manager also was not there. I said are you able to call a plumber and that clearly offended her. She went on to tell me I'm tired of you People acting this way.You People??? I said well the bathroom isn't working and you don't have anyone here to help me and you won't call the plumber, Renee is her name. She is the assistant manager who was yelling at me pointing her finger and then saying I was the problem. I think the bare minimum to go to any hotel would be water and being able to flush your toilet. This manager was yelling pointing at me and went on that if she had a room and do I understand that she's in charge it was the worst experience I've ever had in 56 years of travel. Renee, the Assistant manager ended up walking away from me and mind you there are cameras on both sides. It is clear what happened. Renee was aggressive and rude. I said I as the customer and I'm paying for the services. Renee said you're not paying for this. Your husband is which is very offensive. While she's walking away yelling, there was another woman who was at the front desk as well hearing all of this. I asked her if they had a plunger. She handed me the plunger and said there's nobody else here that can help me so now I'm trying to fix my own toilet in a hotel where I've never had an experience where the front desk acted aggressive, rude, and just probably one of the worst people I've ever met. This would not be a place that I would recommend at all based on the employees. It's a Friday no managers there no maintenance so no one can help you and certainly the front desk isn't going to help you either. In fact when I went back up to my room, they called me and said that I was being kicked out of the hotel. I needed to get my things because I no longer could stay. And the reason I asked for help was because my bathroom did not work. I did call the police and I had them come up to my room. I let them know about the whole situation as the front desk told their story as well. The police told me they would give me the report so I can forward it onto corporate or when my understanding it is a franchise. The police were very apologetic. They helped me with my things said I wouldn't want to stay here if someone treated me like that and I said I agree, but this should never have happened. This is not hospitality. this is not customer service. It was gross. The police department in Brookfield or there in three minutes were very helpful and extremely kind. I could not even give this hotel one star based on my experience and I hope there's two hotels side-by-side that you stay at the Holiday Inn because you're gonna wish you did if you don't. read more
