I would not recommend this hotel. When we arrived at the reception desk, one person was checking someone in at desk two. My husband and I were standing in front of desk one where two women were talking. We stood there for at least five minutes and they did not look up to acknowledge or welcome us. That set the tone for the entire experience. The staff were not trained to be attentive to clients. Usually there was no eye contact and the least possible exchange. Despite the attempts to paint and improve the public areas (the pool was sparkling and lovely), as someone else also remarked, the property is very old and dated. There was no ice machine on the third floor. The TV was vanilla cable, no channel guide let alone access to streaming services. I called the hotel from the road twice, and no one answered. I called the front desk several times and no one answered. We planned to eat dinner at the hotel, but the bar/restaurant did not open the night were were there. In the room, housekeeping had left four packages of de-caff coffee and only one coffee cup. When I went down to the front desk to exchange the de-call packets for regular, the employee said she wasn't sure they had any regular. Luckily, they did. The coffee creamer in the room was powder. Ugh! We discovered a roach in our room. There was a message left on our phone from the previous month. If the ownership wants to improve the experience for guests, they must - Provide training for staff -Assure staff has appropriate resources to meet guest needs - Upgrade TV and internet options. -spray regularly for bugs -Assure back ups for key services like the bar/restaurant. read more

Staff are friendly, I would not recommend this hotel. I stay over 100 nights a year at Marriott hotels and this place is extremely dated and the rooms are dirty. The hotel is not in a great area and I wouldn't recommend walking outside the hotel grounds. I will not be returning. read more

We've stayed at this Courtyard multiple times.  It's in a great location for one night stopovers, and right off the exit.  The area is safe, and there are plenty of food options nearby as long as you don't mind dining at chain restaurants.   Service overall is efficient and friendly.  The bed is comfortable with clean linens and plenty of grassy areas for walking your pooch. The only downside of staying here is maintenance and cleanliness. The hotel itself is pretty beat up. We request the same room, our last two visits were only one week apart, so we know these are long term issues, not one off.   The furniture in our room marred, with chunks out of the wood.  The door lock doesn't work properly both times.  We finally learned the secret jiggle, push , push, handle turn, then pull back, before pushing open the door combination. We reported this on our visit, and a week later, and probably several housekeepers later, it was still not working. Given the condition of the room, cleanliness is even more important. Here the hotel also stumbles even though charging extra fees for deep cleaning after a pet stays in the room. We found dust buildup and human hair in the tub and sink.  The vents caked with dust as well. On the website the dog fee is 65 dollars however they actually charge 125. Needless to say a lot improvements and a deep cleaning needed. no one is wearing a mask or social distancing enforce. read more

Pool was closed despite perfect weather. The AC was out in parts of the building and wasn't cooling very effectively in the bedroom. Front desk staff were inattentive, though they were mostly nice when I interacted with them. Pictures are a little catfishy, it's more dated than it appears online. Bathroom was musty because there's no vent in there. It's nicer than a Quality Inn, but it's decent at best. read more

I stayed here for two nights recently and I definitely have mixed feelings. Check in was a breeze. I got my status points and was given the low-down. The gym is still closed due to COVID. One of the dining options there was closed as well. They did offer breakfast at an additional cost, which I was surprised I didn't get for free due to status, but that's okay. The room seemingly was fine. I liked the set up and the courtyard view. I'm not sure if the pool is / was open or if no one was out there due to the weather. The first issue I had was the toilet. I first noticed it sticking and running non-stop. I thought I fixed it and then eventually it wouldn't fill up with water. By that time I figured might as well not say anything because I'm not switching rooms at this point so I just figured it out as I "went". I saw some gunk, which looked like dried snot on the bathroom wall. I didn't inspect it, believe me. Another thing that bothered me is that this hotel was seemingly empty, yet all of the guests seemed to be housed in the same area. I don't know what this area is doing in terms of social distancing but this wasn't it. I had people all around me. So that was kind of annoying to me to be honest. I was given my late check out which I appreciated and used it almost fully since I was working from there. Excellent! I had the pleasure of staying at this property recently for 4 nights. I don't think I can say enough good about this place. First - the staff - everyone, from the front desk clerks, the restaurant servers, to housekeepers and laundry workers went out of their way to be genuinely friendly. There wasn't a single day that went by that several team members didn't stop to say hello and wish me a beautiful day! It's was a delight. My room was clean and comfortable and the water pressure was terrific. The food at the restaurant was also good. Parking is abundant and the property is conveniently located. I really have mixed feelings because the state was not terrible there were just a few minor inconveniences. The worst part of this day was there was a huge cockroach in my room. It was disgusting and while I know it can't hurt me it really grossed me out and made me want to leave. Not to mention, this is my second incident with pests at a Marriott location. I had an ear attack at another location and I just don't understand why pest control is not priority! I think the staff was helpful, but I think we're all just kind of going through things so there was really no above and beyond everyone was just OK, but not unfriendly. I just didn't feel like it was the cleanest place and I felt like they could do a little better and were below the bare minimum. I am willing to consider staying again, but I think I'll try one of the Hilton properties instead. read more

So I was driving from TN on my way to FL, it was 1:15 am and exhaustion was taking over. I am a Hilton Honors member but NOTHING was available from Atlanta to past Macon. I am, luckily, also a Marriott member!! A call to their worldwide reservation number resulted in a jackpot! An open room at this lovely Marriott facility!! Oh joy!! What a nice sight for sore eyes!! Clean to a fault. Nice down to business staff. Was in my room and examining the back of my eyelids fast!!! Woke up refreshed and took a shower. Super clean bathrooms and those dispensers of shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. They use Paul Mitchell tea tree products!! I love it!!!! Felt so energized and ready to go! They must have recently renovated and it is a great look and feel. Neutral colors, modern look, and so fresh! I will definitely be back if I am traveling through. Now, back to driving for me!! I have a new granddaughter to meet!! read more

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed there 2x on our last trip, once going south and then back north. The place looks updated but is dirty. Got off elevator on our floor and it hadn't been cleaned in a while and it was Friday evening. Garbage bags piled up in hallways and carpets dirty. Stains on furniture and carpets, lampshades crooked and rooms very dark with lights on. No mattress covers on beds, noticed when corners of sheet came off. Mattresses stained, disgusting. Bathroom walls dirty, floors dirty and the toilets in both rooms we had stayed in made loud noise when flush. Rooms full of nasty perfumed smell to hide ? smells? Marriott needs to consolidate their older hotels, bleach down surfaces, caulk, repair and retrain housekeeping staff. read more

BEDBUGS! Yes, that's right. 2/18/16 room 319. Probably don't need to write much of a review here. And not only is it a verified bed bug, there were absolutely ZERO protocols in place on how to handle this, and they made me do all of the leg work. I had to throw away my suitcase and backpack because of larvae, and the risk of bringing it home; costing me over $500. To boot, they needed to call in someone to verify my claim and when I asked if it was indeed a bed bug, she said "yes, and they only found a few more." No one seemed to comprehend that these little critters don't just live in the bed, but also in the carpet, drapes, etc. Nearly a month later, still no reimbursement. I had to request that they comp my stay. They compensated one night out of three and gave me a lousy 10,000 points. I also lost billable time with my client because I needed to jump through hoops to get all of my laundry together and down to them for immediate decon. They call me at 11am to tell me this, and not before I left for the day. At 6:30 pm, when second shift arrived and I inquired about my laundry, they had no idea what I was talking about. At 8:30pm, when I arrived from dinner, my laundry was on my bed, still warm. It was a total cluster and no one had any clear marching orders on how to handle a bed bug situation. Beds were oh so comfy. Plenty of non feather pillows as requested. Room temperature as desired. Shower pressure and temperature perfect. Nice desk and lounge area within room, plenty of space. TV was in an odd location as it relates to bef and swivel made it do-able, not optimal. Front desk staff (Natasha) was quick, accommodating, personable and all around great. All staff from bistro to maintenance was very friendly. Eggs and coffee were very good from bistro. No newspapers available as expected? Conveniently located to restaurants, interstate, parks and more, yet quiet and peaceful. Well equipped fitness center fir weights and cardio. Nice outdoor pool and lounge area. We stayed just overnight on our way to FL. Checked in at 1:30am and the staff was super nice. The gentleman that checked us in was super friendly and welcoming. Was a nice surprise at 1:30 in the morning. Got us in and to our room quickly. We checked out at 8am and the staff (three ladies) again was super friendly. We also got breakfast at the bistro to get us on the road quicker. Caramel macchiato is on point! Also, hotel was also super clean. They were cleaning when we checked in and cleaning when we checked out. We have added this hotel to our favorites because just for a one night stay they definitely wowed us! read more

My husband and I stayed at this location due to a comedy show event in the area. Front desk staff was nice along with the Bistro attendant. Breakfast was very good. Unfortunately when leaving, we head to our vehicle and it had been broken into. Luckily only sunglasses were stolen. Ask the hotel if they had cameras out in the parking area and it was stated only in the inside of the hotel. I travel a lot and I will not and would advise another to not stay here either. Well... Marriott Courtyard is our spot. My husband travels for business regularly and we typically choose Courtyard out of all the Mariott brands, so when we travelled to Macon for his business I didn't hesitate to book Courtyard, nor did I check reviews which was a mistake. Just on approach, the property looked drab and dated and not well maintained. I had a sinking feeling from the start. We entered through a side entrance and I tossed some beverage cups into a trash can on my way in. It was nearly full. Once inside I really felt the fear - carpets not vacuumed, walls dingy and marked up and a general feeling of uncleanliness. The elevator was dingy with dirty carpeting that had not felt the hum of a vacuum in a while. I'm certain of that. So the room.... Standard Courtyard room but in dated, dingy, murky colors. I will say though - the room looked and felt clean and the bathroom was clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries. I've never noticed this before at another Courtyard, but I could distinctly hear the conversation in the adjoining room and the guests' light shone through the crack under the door long after I had wished they'd turn out the lights and go to sleep. The staff at front desk was helpful and pleasant. The microwave in the pantry was not clean when I went to pop popcorn. I didn't like this place. I will not stay here again. read more

When you are tired and need to crash by all means try the Courtyard by Marriott. The minute you enter you'll feel at ease. Smiling desk attendant, late at night greeted us as if it were 8am. We were quickly checked in and shown to our room which I must say was outstanding. Fluffy pillows soft down comforters and spotless sheet assured you that once you shower and hit the bed you'll be asleep in seconds! Trust me it happened. We arrived late so there wasn't much time to actually check out the hotel but from all the signage there was plenty to do and see. Pool, workout room, media room and my favorite breakfast whenever you are ready. I will say this is one comfortable bed. You have anything you need readily available. I also love the variety of soaps and toiletries they offer...all Paul Mitchell. If your bedmate snores use the ear plugs next to your bed located on the night stand. Marriott is known for excellent guest service and once again they delivered! Good night! read more

After a long day of driving in torrential rain, my husband and I checked in to the Courtyard by Marriott in Macon. We were warmly greeted by Rushnay who checked us in seamlessly (with no reservation) and ensured that we had the room of our choice. She helped us with restaurant recommendations as well. In the morning, we went to the Bistro to order breakfast. LaShonda was wonderful and friendly as well. Every staff member we met was gracious and helpful. The hotel itself was clean and well kept (as most Courtyards are) but the staff really took our experience to the next level. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. read more

My party of 3 had one of the worst costumer service experiences at this Marriott. We we're in Macon for a wedding, and after it we went to check-in to our room, tired and wearing our bridesmaid dresses. One of the girls I was with worked at a Courtyard Marriott in Colorado, and she made the reservation for us months ago at the employee rate. By the time of our stay here she had a different job, so her manager gave her a form that is for a friends and family rate. The woman at the front desk, who's name is believe is Chas Keet, did not give us the employee rate. Fine. She also however would not give us the friends and family rate even though we had the necessary form. She would not work with us and was horribly unpleasant the entire time. (Also, my friends manager told her later on that someone from this Courtyard called her to ask if the friend worked at Marriott, and she said no but that she gave her the friends and family form just in case there was an issue. They said that the form is all they needed to give us the rate. They literally went out of their way to probably try to call out my friend and never even gave us the price that they called about) We finally got our room at a much more expensive price. The neighbors next to us were noisy and obviously smoking weed. The management talked to them numerous times about noise complaints, so we didn't feel the need to complain ourselves. The room was fine but not typical Courtyard standards. When we checked out, there was a different older woman working the front desk. She asked if we enjoyed our stay and we said no, and told her about the ridiculous check-in events and the almost tripled price we had to pay for the room. We also told her about the noisy neighbors. She simply asked us why we didn't say anything and made no effort to address any of the issues or at least apologize on behalf of Marriott. Luckily we don't live anywhere near Georgia and won't ever be staying at this sad excuse for a Courtyard Marriott. read more

This place is okay, but I would not stay here again. Some parts of the rooms are renovated, while others are really old. The toilet was not clean (had some poo splatter inside), no tissues, and desk was covered in dust. Lots of dust! It was pretty clean though. I checked the bed for bed bugs because of other reviews but did not find any. Only found a big yellow sweat stain on the mattress underneath the sheets. I got my meals included with my room, but was charged a few times anyway. Drinks at the bar are pretty good. This is sort of strange, but bartender was bleeding a little on his hand when handing me my drink. Isn't the most appetizing thing ever and usually I wouldn't notice or care, but it was a small pool of blood. Sort of creeped me out, but he was very very nice and accommodating. Overall, the breakfast was okay. Not my favorite. I got fruit a few times and it tasted rotten so I threw it away. Even though I have a lot of complaints, don't let that scare you away. This is a pretty decent hotel for the area and I am sure there are much worse places to stay. I just think for over $100 a night this could be better. read more

They gave me 3 different prices. First price was negotiated with an agent over the phone which I was happy about. When I got there they charged me an extra 50 for extras (for candy or drinks or breakfast I might buy) that I was unknown about. I then asked why they did it and said it was normal. I was confused. No other marriot ever did this. Anyway. The front desk then told me my total was lower than the original agreement. I confirmed this time and time again. Ok I was a little happier. In he morning they charged me he original price. Complained. Asked them to make up their mind. Couldn't help me what so ever. Trash cans were to small and had no trash bags in them at all. *WARNING WARNING WARNING* THIS PLACE HAS ROACHES! I am a travel nurse at the local hospital and on my call nights, I spend a night in town. This particular night, I had booked a room at this location. I am a long time LOYAL Marriott customer who stay at a Marriott wherever I travel. After a long 18 hour shift at work and a late check in, I was exhausted and basically just crashed. As I'm laying in my hotel bed, I thought that I felt something crawling on me but I also thought it was just my being fatigued. This morning I woke up to not one, not two, not three... But 4!!! 4 roaches in my hotel bed! I am totally disgusted and freaked out that I even shared a bed with them. After taking pictures, I killed two of them and the other two got away. To make matters worse, the front desk clerk seemed 100% unbothered. All she said was "we'll spray" My husband insists that I not bring any home with me lol I will not, WILL NOT stay at this location again read more

After my wife (a Marriott employee in Florida) booked us a room (which we had a confirmation number for the date and rate), they tried to DOUBLE our rate, saying that the promo we used is invalid (it went through Marriott.com)! After refusing to explain why or how this could happen, the assistant general manager, Deandra Davenport, said they could only offer the new rate. After I agreed to the DOUBLED rate, she said that OUR RESERVATION IS CANCELLED, BECAUSE SHE AND HER STAFF DIDN'T WANT TO DEAL WITH OUR "ATTITUDE"!!! I was literally in disbelief. We then had to find another hotel to spend the night so our two young daughters could get some sleep. This woman, and any superior allowing this kind of treatment of ANY customer, should be held accountable, especially considering this is the HOSPITALITY industry! read more

Newly renovated, clean and good breakfast. Hubby and I went on an impromptu trip to Macon from the City of Atlanta and stumbled on a deal. Now if I had seen these reviews we probably would not have gone and missed out on a great time. Let's address the previous review on bedbugs. When you come in at the receptionist desk, you can see through the laundry facility where the workers are cleaning and folding clean linens. Also, I'm kind of OCD. I inspected my bedding before sleeping and can assure you no bed-bugs to be found. Hotel -4/5 easy to find off of highway Cleanliness; 4/5 bathrooms were cleaned and dusted Accommodations; 3/5. Standard but did not have laundry for dirty clothing and elevator was not working but was repaired overnight. Customer service: 3/5 Asked receptionist about the the Ocmulgee tour and rather than saying I'll look into it and doing this "Willie's Way," she said the folks in the morning will know. Not the right answer. Food - Bistro- 4/5 well prepared breakfast and served with a smile. Cashier/barista did an amazing job despite prepping everything including tall Mocha Grande. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a quick night's stay. read more

Maybe I'm just used to the good and can't say that the mediocre is a 5 star. Got two beds but they only give you two towels. The bathroom wasn't clean, just restocked. The BR floor was so grimmy and slippery like the same dirty mop and water was used for the whole floor. The room stunk. Pool is the smallest puddle I've ever seen. And the people upstairs were up all night making noise but they were like elephants. Also no breakfast. But the beds were really comfy and this is just a come and sleep type of hotel. We have stayed here before and enjoyed the place, I should take off for the pool being down especially when our grandson loves to play in water and was stuck in a car much of the day. Yes as some others have suggested the room upkeep could be better and the wifi is nominal where we were on 1st floor not usable for regular streaming but for a glance at email, hopefully, was just slow and not so good. So why the 4 stars? Maybe I don't know how to make 1/2 a star on yelp, but really, I'm a sucker for starbucks great coffee and those ladies who did us a great breakfast plus their one two punch line infotainment show, they were great and entertaining. Makes you want to come back for more. So the convenience of the courtyard set up where we can escape to the snack bar, coffee shop or reading room helps make this place work. The main desk staff is professional and smart, could take a few lessons from the snack bar staff but hey, that's just me and when I see great customer relations people I recognize same. So the front desk executes very well. All I could suggest is that the wifi be beefed up and keep the pool running, we will be back, besides my wife likes the place too, so what choice do I have? read more

The staff was very friendly and the hotel was very clean. Hotel could use a little updating but was still very nice. The only thing was a previous guest left a few of their items in one of the drawers but that is not the hotels fault. The pool needed to be cleaned up only because it had a lot of leaves in it but the lounge area by the pool was very nice and comfortable. They had a fire pit and a sitting area outside by the pool area, I wasn't expecting that but very nice ambiance. A menu in the hotel room for the Bistro would have been nice and a list of the local restaurants would be a nice addition but still not a deal breaker. Security wise the only way to get in the hotel excluding the front was by a key card (your room key) I really appreciated this feature. We will definitely stay here again. Showed up at hotel. No parking except a handicap spot. Got to my room and it had not been cleaned. Went to FD to explain issues with parking and room. Brandon said that parking in a handicap spot was ok because they rarely have cops come by. The when my hubby asked if they would cover ticket he had no answer. Then we explained about room not being cleaned. It still had keys and garbage on desk from last guest. Bed was not made and missing a pillow. He said somebody had just cleaned . I asked how that could be if they still had garbage and guest keys on the desk. I would reccomend if it was a 50 a night hotel. Huge waste at 125 a night. We have been to a lot of Marriott's and this was the worst one ever. read more

Just had the most awesome experience at this hotel. We booked one room and decided that logistically it was not feasible. So being the annoying wushu washy customer we went back down and asked for a swap.. What could have been a horrible rude experience was so pleasant. This is a typical Courtyard with nice rooms, fitness center, outdoor pool, and plenty of parking. As a platinum member it's very frustrating the policy on having breakfast costing extra at Courtyards. But besides that I did not get a good rest what so ever. The constant train noise all night roughly ever 1-2 hours a train would pass thru blowing its horn. Now I'm not sure if my room location could change that but had to give it so low of stars strictly because of how loud this was all night. read more
