    Put in a dirty room
    Mike B.

I stay in the Marriott chain of hotels very frequently I am an elite member (diamond) and I use my app for everything so with that being said for all the stays I have during the year I never have to bring my Marriott charge card with me because I charge everything through the app this place would not accept that even though I was already checked in through the app. The lady at the front desk had a bad disposition in her way of explaining the situation and I didn't appreciate that either. After all that confusion I was issued a room I get upstairs and the room had dirty towels everywhere and fast food trash still inside it hadn't even been cleaned. So I head back downstairs and I got a "sorry I gave you the wrong room" after all that sass about the charge card I almost believe it was done purposely. I will still remain loyal to Marriott hotels just never this particular one again EVER!

Really impressed with my stay at this location. I have stayed at a few Courtyard hotels in the past, but my typical go to is Hilton. Check in process seemed to be a little long and they didn't have our rooms ready (supposed to have by 3:00 and we checked in at 3:30). Staff was friendly and accommodation to make sure we were comfortable and got us into out rooms as quickly as possible. They did a great job of responding to the situation and communication. For that no deduction of a star. The lobby gives you the vibe of a modern facility, however it's interesting to see how the place is decorated. Décor is from the 20's and 30's with old phonographs, typewriters, etc. Modern for their day, but classic by todays standards. Rooms were large and spacious. I had the kind size room which, similar to Hilton, has a much larger bathroom. Again modern feel and excellent use of space. Refrigerator was build into a wall cabinet/closet. Not a great view from the room, but really had no plans to spend time looking at the view this trip. Provided a complimentary shuttle to and from the Infinite Energy Arena for the event we were attending (Roger Waters Us & Them). Two shuttle busses running back and forth made for a very short wait to get picked up for the show. Once the concert was over we waited less then 5 get loaded onto the shuttle. Great gym area on the main floor! small pool but some really great exercise equipment. Would have no issue building up a sweat and getting in a work out while here. Also, they have a small restaurant and bar area. Didn't try the food, however they have a ton of seating space and don't anticipate that will be an issue. Wouldn't mind coming back to stay for other events....The overall experience is top notch!

Had a blast with all of our guest at Diva's Day Out with Shopping Party Events. A MUST ATTEND EVENT!

We have been going to the Courtyard by Marriott in Duluth since it opened its doors and every time is better then the last. Our guest and vendors always have an amazing time at The Courtyard with Shopping Party Events and Krazi Over Heelz B

When I contacted the front…read moredesk that evening, I was told there was nothing they could do until 7am the following morning and that no rooms were available for a transfer -- despite two rooms showing available on the hotel's own booking site that same night. The next morning I had to initiate every single follow-up myself. Maintenance did not arrive at the promised 7am. I called at 7:30am and again at 8:08am before anyone came up. In between those calls I received a callback from a staff member who asked if I needed a plunger, making clear she had no knowledge of my situation despite it being documented the night before. Staff gave me conflicting information about room availability multiple times throughout the morning. Maintenance eventually confirmed something was clearly wrong with the toilet and we were moved to another room. When I spoke with the GM, her initial response was that she could not issue a refund and offered only loyalty points. A partial discount was only offered after I repeatedly pushed back, asked to speak with the owner, and made clear I intended to escalate further. No resolution was offered proactively at any point -- every step required me to advocate for myself. The room itself and the new room were fine. The issue was entirely with how the situation was handled -- poor internal communication, no proactive outreach, and a management team that had to be pressured into offering even a partial resolution for a non-functional toilet.

Both elevators worked (which seems to be a rarity at other hotels) and it was decently quiet in the evenings. Great water pressure in the shower. Standard IHG (dove) toiletries mounted to the walls. Breakfast was quite good!

From the moment…read moreyou walk through the doors, you're hit with an intense mix of heavily scented cleaner and air freshener. It's not subtle--it's overpowering to the point that it made my eyes water and caused intensely painful headache. The room itself was even worse. The odor was so strong it triggered a headache and nausea, making it incredibly difficult to relax or get any rest--especially frustrating after arriving already sleep-deprived. What added to the experience was the lack of clear or confident communication from staff. I received multiple explanations for the smell--air freshener, cleaning products, even the floors--none of which inspired confidence or resolution. The room also lacked proper ventilation, leaving no way to escape the lingering fumes. Beyond that, the overall experience continued to fall short. The vibe felt off, my room key repeatedly failed to work from outside due to what I was told was a broken door, and parking comes at an additional $9/day. The noise level is bonkers. They said they were full. They stated I would be on the top floor and stocked with coffee and blankets for the bed. As seen by the photos, neither was confirmed or delivered. In contrast, the Hilton next door offers free parking and a much more comfortable, odor-free environment. Overall, this stay was disappointing and far from relaxing. I would not choose to stay here again. - signed an elite member staying on the road 80-90% of the month

He told me that he didn't have a room for me. I asked if I needed to wait a few minutes until 3:00, he just shrugged and said he didn't know. I was a bit confused, and told him I had a room booked. He just looked at me and said "I don't know, we had 15 rooms that requested a late check out". I was a little bit baffled, so I just stood there looking at him. He eventually got on the phone and spoke to someone, then told me he'd found me a hearing accessible room. He was very dismissive and almost rude during our entire interaction, it was very odd. The room itself was fine, but I'd be very hesitant to book again based on how I was treated. He was working again the next morning when I checked out, and had the same dismissive attitude. The manager reached out to me to discuss what happened, and how they intended to move forward. I really appreciated their response, so I'm updating this review.

However, at checkout, we received a statement showing an $80 charge for breakfast. I explained the situation to the front desk staff, but they denied ever saying that breakfast was included and told us to speak with the manager--who was not available at the time. Since we had to catch a flight, we left and later called the hotel multiple times to speak with the manager, who continued to be unavailable. So, we disputed the charge through our credit card company. We eventually received a survey from Marriott, where we left a review describing our experience. Only then did the manager email us, essentially implying that we were too stupid to understand the difference between "available" and "included." In her email, she claimed that her staff said breakfast was available, and that we misunderstood that to mean it was included. If you're planning to stay at this hotel, I highly recommend recording any conversations about complimentary services. Otherwise, you may be charged later and told the offer was never made--and that you simply misunderstood or weren't smart enough to get it.
