One of the things I love most about Marriott properties is the consistency in service, cleanliness, and accomodations. This site again proves to meet up to the standards. Check in was flawless, despite the fact that we arrived 3 hours early. We did not use housekeeping the four nights we were there, so I can't speak to that service. The pool and hot tub were clean. The gym was nice and clean, but had limited equipment. I would stay here again. read more

I recently stayed at the Courtyard. More than anything else, I want to give a shoutout to the hotel staff. My brother was admitted to the University Hospital for a life threatening issue. I had to fly in from Florida and other family came in from out of town as well. It was a Friday night and there was a Mizzou home game on Saturday so hotel rooms were scarce and ridiculously expensive. I called and spoke with the folks at the front desk. They were so kind and were able to get us into a couple of rooms. The rooms are a pretty tired and the particular room I was in the drawers on the dresser wouldn't stay closed. Also, the pillows were pretty thin and too soft (kinda like sleeping on crepe paper). We didn't care, we just needed a place to crash. I would definitely stay here again because the team clearly cares about their guests. read more

This Courtyard location was consistent with others I had been to, with free parking/wifi and a quick-service coffee bar and lounge in the lobby. The room itself had some fairly unique features, with there being a whirlpool spa style bathtub just a few feet from the bed. (In addition to the standard restroom). Staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be that there were some noise issues coming from neighboring rooms which went unresolved. read more

My first impression walking into the lobby was that I was severely under-dressed, because this place was super fancy. My second thought being that the price we booked for must have been a mistake because there is no way a place this fancy-looking could be that reasonable. Across from the front desk is Columbia Bistro, a little bistro restaurant in the lobby (that also seems to be run by the hotel employees) with its own operating hours. I did get a chicken quesadilla from the bistro, and a 20oz soda to go with it--which was a bit expensive. The soda alone was 2.50 ($2 for a 20oz soda and $3 for a Life Water at the lobby store), and the quesadilla was $8.50! Despite the price (definitely a convenience price), and the lack of filling in my tortilla, the taste of it was pretty good. It's just that price, man.. Off to the side is a lounge area for guests with televisions and a fireplace. In the corner of that area is an area with an ATM, computers and a printer for guests. The staff was incredibly courteous and everything was very clean. There was a little mini-shop to the left of the front desk--which made sense as, disappointingly, there were no vending machines on our floor. The hallway leading to our room on the 4th floor was very hot, as if the air conditioning was blocked off or didn't reach it or something. Our room, however, was very nice! A non-smoking, King room with, it had a nice sofa and coffee table, real glass cups instead of wrapped plastic, a nice welcome note left by housekeeping, and everything was very clean and nice. The later checkout time (noon) is a perk! The pillows were super soft and squishy and wonderful and the wardrobe closet had extra bedding in case someone wanted more. It was a bit weird that there were no bags in the trash cans, but I put my own in, so no complaints there. The room's TV was a bit frustrating. There is a lock that prevents you from turning the volume too low--yes, LOW--so I couldn't adjust it as much as I'd liked. Also, there wasn't a guide channel, so you couldn't see what was on or anything, you just had to surf til you found something. But it isn't a deal-breaker since it's just a perk anyway and not the reason I stayed. I'd definitely stay here again, but I would make sure to stop by a store first and bring my own drinks. I wish I could give it 4 1/2 stars, but since I can't, I'll just round up. read more

Wow, Courtyard Marriott in Columbia, MO! Nice place you have there! Rooms are not large, but well-appointed with king-sized beds, TV, couch, microwave & mini-fridge. The shower is only pretty good, but I did like the products in the bathroom. Quinoa shampoo, quince lotion, funny. There's a "business center" in the lobby where you can access a computer for free (and print!), and fresh coffee, & assorted teas & hot chocolate, which I like very much. And the staff was all very nice. So, not a lot of character, but definitely a clean and friendly place to stay. read more

I was put up at this hotel by my host. It's in the SW part of town that was more popular. The hotel was right off RT 63 - check-in was easy the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The corporate rate was $95 or so. The room had two twin beds, internet was complimentary and a nice spacious bathroom. I called front desk for more hair conditioner and they promptly delivered! The downside about the area you had to drive a few miles to a Super Walmart for some toiletries, there's no CVS or such in the area. Checking out was just as a breeze, everything was taken care when I left. It was awesome. Definitely much nicer people in MO. read more

Terrific location away from the busy area where other hotels are. The location is the best thing about the hotel. If you absolutely must go downtown, it's a short drive; but if you wish to avoid that area, you can certainly visit groceries, restaurants, other businesses and activities and avoid the several college campuses. The hotel is beginning to show some wear, but it's mostly clean. Note to GM and housekeeping: The floor lamp in our room (232) has a healthy layer of dust on it. read more

Clean, renovated and nice hotel. Friendly staff. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Breakfast is a Starbucks bar. It's not free but the food is good and the was coffee worth paying for. I had the summer oatmeal, just wonderful. My only complaint would be the shower head. It was a plastic piece of junk spraying water in all directions. Very substandard considering how nice everything else was. Recommended. read more

Super nice staff! The bartender at the cafe makes a mean cocktail - I had a Lemon Drop martini, and went back for second, it was that good! Front desk people were very kind; we'd had a problem at a different hotel, and switched to Marriott. Such a difference friendly people make! The toiletries are Paul Mitchell Awapuhi - very zingy and fresh. Towels and bedding a fresh, clean, and soft. The rooms smell nice, and have white bed linens, which is a must for me! The glasses and ice bucket are clean and wrapped in plastic - very clearly cleaned. read more

We chose this hotel for our daughter's wedding and reception and we were so glad we did. Eric, the General Manager, and April, the event planner, were so easy to work with. They made sure everything was perfect. The rooms were comfortable, the spaces for the wedding and reception were beautifully set up, and the staff and servers at the reception were excellent. They worked with our florist, DJ, and photographer to make sure everything went smoothly. I didn't really have to worry about anything. I would recommend this hotel for your events or just as a place to stay while in Columbia. read more

Beds are by far the most comfortable I've been in for almost all hotels. Shower was amazing. Staff gave us a last minute discount as we showed up late at night and they were just filling rooms, 40% off regular price. No complaints at all with this location, was great all around. read more

Came out to Columbia with my college's basketball team. As the team usually stays at Marriott hotels and I am a platinum level guest, I was glad to see we were staying at a Marriott property. These people are some of the nicest hotel staff members I have ever seen! Everyone was so helpful and friendly. If back in the area, I will no doubt stay here! read more

As a business traveler (150 nights per year in hotels) you get a good feel for what's normal at hotels. This hotel is very nice, clean, and the staff is very friendly. The only problem is that they spend much of their time apologizing for the lack of service amenities that they offer. They REMOVED THE FREE COFFEE BAR so you have to buy your coffee now or use the foul tasting coffee in your room. They do not offer a complimentary breakfast with your stay either. Also, a big down side for me is the fact that the floors (hotel construction) feel cheap and you can hear every step of the person in the room above you, not so good if you are trying to get some rest. In most of the other brand hotels, they are increasing what they offer complimentary, not removing. It's the little things that make a difference when you travel all the time and it's disappointing to be nickel and dimed. Like I said in the beginning, it's not a horrible hotel and the staff is really great, but it sounds like the management has chosen a different direction and does not listen to the input of it's employees... read more

No coffee until the cafe opens. Luke warm bath water. The WiFi is slower then my phone unless you pay extra of course. This is s $120 a night hotel and they nickel and dime you with extra $ for WiFi. Super clean, neat bistro, really close to downtown action. Pillows and bedding appeared fresh and their breakfast fare was the best I have encountered 'gratis' in quite a while. Very good shower and a larger than normal bathroom as well as excellent lighting in the room. My wife found the featured sculpture (think art accent) was the perfect place to hold her floppy chapeau. I thought it was totally cool to be told 'good morning' EVERY DAY by the housekeeping staff on my way to workout. Can't say that's ever happened before. I am going to claim this as our official crash pad on future visits to COMO. read more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel and the room is nice and clean, updated with good amenities. Someone must have requested a wake up call prior to our stay which wasn't cancelled so we were woken up twice before we cancelled it at the front desk. It would have been nice to have breakfast included but oh well. The shower head is weak and sprays erratically. Everything else was good. read more

The first time I stayed at this hotel it was great, another parent reccomended that we stay here. The second time there was a huge leak from the ceiling and they moved us. The third time was not a charm. The manager Lori was very rude almost to the point of nasty. Was not given the rate as promised and when told that there was never a problem before was told "you were very lucky", instead of apologizing for the mixup as most people dealing with customers usually do. She has no people skills at all and should not be dealing with the public at all, she has us over a barrel and knew it because all the hotels were sold out due to the fact that it was move in weekend for the students. As for the room it had crumbs all over the table, some of the towels were missing, there was hair in the sink and there was a huge water stain on the ceiling. My daughter ordered breakfast it took forever and didn't taste very well. Now let's go to the final night/morning, they left the bill under the door then started knocking on the door at 5:33 in the morning, WHO UP AT 5:33 IN THE MORNING, THIS WOKE ME UP FROM A SOUND SLEEP. THEN TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY THE CLEANING STAFF CAME IN AT 8:00 AM TO CLEAN THE ROOM. I WAS STILL IN MY PAJAMAS. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED WITH SUCH DISRESPECT BEFORE IN MY LIFE. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT HOTEL AGAIN THE DON'T KNOW HOW TO TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS (AT LEAST CERTAIN ONE'S). FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND THEY ARE UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT, WELL THEY NEED TO GET NEW MANAGEMENT BECAUSE I WILL BE GOING BACK AND FORTH FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS AND SO WILL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND NONE OF THEM WILL BE STAYING AT THAT SUBSTANDARD HOTEL OF HORRORS. read more

This wasn't our first time staying at this hotel but it may have been our last!! My mom is a federal government employee that has gotten the rate before BUT this stay, the manager was asked to come out because the I.d. she gave wasn't Sufficient. Then the manager Lori was very rude and Condescending when she told my mother "well you got lucky before passing with that rate" as if to say my mom was trying to pull a fast one on the hotel. Not only her words but her tone and body language were demeaning and humiliating. It was another agent that has taken care of my mom at this location and gave her the government rate and when that was brought up it seemed like the manager dug in her heels even more to make sure we were not getting that rate. Besides that the check out day we got a receipt under to door like we didn't know when we were checking out but housekeeping was knocking at the door at 8am!!!! And even tried to enter the room. It wasn't the best experience thank goodness it only lasted two days and we NEVER have to go back. It's sad because for the next four years we will be going back to the area I just need to make reservations at another hotel in a timely fashion as to not be stuck in this location. read more

We had our wedding reception at the Courtyard and it was perfect. The staff was so accommodating throughout the planning process and also that night for us and all of our guests. Everyone was happy with the rooms that we had reserved and seemed to enjoy the beautiful ballroom as well.
