Stayed here for 3 nights for a work trip and it was a pretty typical Courtyard. The king bed and sofa room was fairly clean when I arrived but it definitely could have been cleaner. The hotel was extremely full so breakfast and more specifically coffee was a long process every morning. There is a free shuttle which is very convenient that you can schedule in advance. I will probably stay at a different property when I return to Deerfield.

Not good! I expect more from Marriott. I live in a Marriott owned property. This was far from the standard I'd expect. A rude manager laughed when I asked if hotel was renovated. I understand that due to Covid 19 many amenities aren't available but not to even offer a cup of coffee in the lobby is ridiculous. No safe in the room. Supposedly we were getting breakfast but instead got an orange and a granola bar?? There was mold in our shower and the curtains were see thru due to their age. Light streamed in the room. I requested a replacement curtain and it was just as bad. See photos. They gave a tiny bottle of water at checkin and refused to give any additional bottles throughout the week. No extra roll of toilet paper was in the room! Had to use kleenex! No cleaning of sheets or offer for new sheets after 5 days. Had to ask for towels in which they gave only one threadbare bath towel. Miserable stay - wouldn't return.

Great modern, updated hotel. I stayed one night and it was comfortable. Huge open lobby, check-in was a breeze. Room 227 was standard double queen on the second floor (only 2 stories and no elevator). Room was clean and updated, large bathroom. I loved the bathroom floors. Beds were comfortable. I can't comment on amenities of hotel (i.e., pool, exercise room, etc.) because I didn't use these features. In the lobby is a small food counter where you can order breakfast or lunch. My room rate included free breakfast. I had the traditional breakfast scrambled eggs, sausage patties, potatoes, toast and coffee. Decent hot breakfast. They serve Starbucks coffee! Overall, comfortable stay.

Perfectly located with dinning, shopping and downtown Deerfield nearby, this would be a great choice for your stay, that is if you could really call the hotel a Courtyard by Marriott. Marriott should be ashamed of the condition of this property, and how it represents their brand. Just look at a few of the photos I've attached, showing the state of disrepair of this hotel. We had to check twice to be sure we had arrived at the correct address! After searching the hotel for 15 minutes, we finally found someone to check us in (no sign at the front desk). You'll love the photo of the empty parking lot, for which we were charged $21 to park here! (I have never stayed at a Courtyard that charged me for parking). The hotel smelled musty, and the room smelled worse (like dog). The courtyard itself was unusable, overrun with weeds and other debris. I love Marriott Courtyards. But MARRIOTT MUST do something about this one (maybe replace the management, or better yet, tear it down). If you're looking for this level of amenities for your stay in Deerfield, try the Motel 6!

Rooms are gloomy and hotel has a interesting smell. Was disappointed with this property, bathrooms are very old and no elevator is a drag.

This is as nice as it gets for $52/night (I booked it off Hotwire). Clean, modern, convenient, and overall a wonderful deal.

$219 per night for a small standard room seems a bit much . Nothing special, typical older Courtyard.

Mainly: 1) Always a suite with a living area, for more room 2) Happy hours in the evening with complimentary drinks and some snacks (chips, pretzels, etc.) 3) Breakfast is included, and it's not continental. They offer a hot food bar and an omelette station. 4) Checkout is usually noon rather than 11 am. At least at this location it is. This location also has a pool and a hot tub, which I love. Hubby and I stayed here last weekend for his birthday/Valentine's Day and we had a great time. Looking forward to another staycation as soon as possible!

The hotel is large with ample and free parking. The staff who checked me in were very nice (including the trainee) who was very friendly and confident. The room itself, although not a boutique hotel, was updated and modern enough to not feel like a generic motel. It was clean and spacious (and 2 rooms as it's an all suite hotel so there was plenty of space.) I loved that the fitness room was open 24/7 so I could get my steps in even if I got back late. I had a little bit at the included breakfast buffet (which was popping at 8 in the morning on a Saturday.) There were plenty of basic options and the coffee was serviceable. I'd definitely stay here again if I was coming back to this part of the greater Chicago area.

I usually don't leave negative reviews, but this experience honestly didn't sit right with me…read more Upon arrival, the front desk staff made us feel judged. We were dressed in sweats and cozy clothes (we're from California and not used to the cold), while others around us were dressed more formally. I understand this is considered a "nicer" hotel, but that shouldn't affect how guests are treated. What really stood out was when I asked a simple question about how long it takes to get the deposit back on a credit card. One of the front desk employees jumped in and said it depends on the card, usually 7-14 days--but then specifically mentioned that if it's a Cash App card, it would "definitely" take 14 days. The way it was said felt very assumptive and unprofessional. I work in sales/finance, so that comment didn't sit right with me. When I clarified that we were using Navy Federal, his tone immediately changed and became much more respectful. That shift alone was very telling. As for the room itself, it did not meet expectations for a hotel that presents itself as high-end. * All four cups in the room were dirty with visible residue and streaks * The bedding had multiple stains, some immediately visible and others noticeable under lighting * The couch had strange stains on it as well * When we pulled out the sofa bed, there was someone else's old medicine wrapper underneath, which made it very clear the room was not properly cleaned * One of the lamps was broken * The sink/faucet had heavy buildup and grime that looked unsanitary (as shown in the photos) The level of cleanliness was honestly unacceptable. I didn't complain during the stay since it was only one night, but it's something future guests should be aware of. The only positives were how quick check-in was and how easy it was to book (we booked through Airbnb, which may also have contributed to how we were perceived). Overall, if you're staying here: * Don't expect equal treatment based on appearance * Check EVERYTHING in your room before using it Definitely not the experience I expected from a place that markets itself as high-end.

I noticed a lot of dogs and when I got to the room, the room had a foul smell. I didn't change cuz I would be spending that much time in the room. But later in the stay I noticed it I my nasal passages when I was going to sleep and my clothes smelled of a kennel. A woman brought a dog to the buffet line with dog in one hand and a plate in the other. The wait staff stopped her still probably dropped a few dog hairs in the buffet. I will never stay here again. When I said something to the lady at Che k out she said they were only on the 3rd floor when that was a lie. I stayed on the second floor and 2 dogs were barking and crying off and on. Literally next door and accross the way. The stench in the restaurant was a mix of dirty rags and heavy chemicals, either cleaning or covering the other smells.

There were lots of kitchenette utensils too. There is a fireplace for synthetic logs, and a working desk that faces a small tv. The bathroom could have been larger or had a sliding door because the swing of the door did not leave much space in there. They had complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. There was a small soap bar and lotion by the sink. I used the hair dryer in multiple occasions, very useful. There is a full sized mirror. There are also two closets for your clothes. No house keeping, except upon request. The complimentary breakfast gets full with people. They had the standard cereals from dispensers (cheerios, shredded wheat, Frosted Flakes). There were prepacked oatmeal too that just needed hot water added. They had gluten free packaged muffins. They also had a make your own waffle station with the mixed batter and hot waffle makers. You could put jelly, peanut butter, syrup or honey on it. On rotation, they sometimes had either a breakfast burrito or sausage with potato bits. They sometimes had scrambled eggs or frittata eggs. They also had souffle eggs. They also had toast, English muffins, and bagels next to a toaster. There was also hot oatmeal available with toppings. They had boiled eggs and a variety of yogurt. I didn't try the soda machine orange juice or apple juice but I had the low fat chocolate and regular milk.

Always helped when asked and answered all questions. was able to loan an induction hot plate so I could make one-pan meals. Pan included was very small so more for eggs than full meals for two. Rooms showed some wear but no major defects. Water pressure was okay but not strong. Tv dark balance was off and remote did not allow for adjustment. TVs were 4k sets and fairly large though. Beds were a bit firm but clean. Was a rough night rest the first night but a 30 dollar mattress topper really helped. Just think of it as an unseen add-on for the stay. Not hard, but needed some cushion. Internet speed was reasonable and only disconnected once or twice a day. Worked well enough for the occasional team meeting or call. Pool was heated but not hot. Still a little chilly but if you swam a little it was easy to shake the chill. Gym was small but functional. Some dumbbells one cable machine and 5 cardio machines. Breakfast was very basic. Egg circles, breakfast breads, a couple protein options and a waffle station. Not great but good enough to get you going. It's not a bad hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It's functional and works for the average traveler. There's some maintaining that could be done, and some accommodations could be better, but if you're in the state for work it will do.
