The Courthouse Inn and Restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and elegant with the highest quality of food! The entire restaurant has various decorations and artwork that have beautiful meaning and history to them. There is a gorgeous outdoor patio, and the restrooms are like a work of art, covered in crystal-like mirrors. Service was excellent with very friendly and hard-working staff members. There are lots of healthy choices and vegetarian options here, unlike most places in the area. It is really nice to be able to see some unique menu items here. The food was phenomenal! We shared a few different appetizers among everyone at the table, and I ordered the Margherita Pizza. You can definitely taste how fresh the ingredients are in the food. Everything was delicious, and I will absolutely come back to try out other menu offerings. I would definitely recommend checking this place out!! read more

Hands down, the Courthouse Inn is the best restaurant I have been to in recent memory. To set the stage: I have lived in a suburb between NYC and Philadelphia for most of my life. I have had the pleasure of eating at many incredible restaurants in both of these major cities, and enjoyed every forkful from those meals. The Courthouse Inn meets or exceeds every single one of the best meals I have had at any restaurant throughout my life. From the first course we received from the kitchen, we were hooked. The plating was absolutely beautiful and was only surpassed by the flavor. We started with the Baked Brie, which was served with sautéed sweet onions and caramelized apples. A side of local baked bread accompanied the dish which perfectly paired with the plates flavor palate. We were surprised by the size of the portion, it was certainly enough to leave a table of 4 satisfied. It was not long after that we were served our salads, which were also carefully plated in true artistic fashion. Again, a generous portion which was a pleasant surprise. Fresh, crisp and a diverse selection of local produce accompanied the house made dressings. Up next, we were served our entrees. I selected the Jalapeño Mac & Cheese, and she ordered the Gnocchi. This is the part that set the whole night apart from anything we've ever experienced. The Gnocchi was house made, lightly fried and AMAZINGLY presented. (See pic). It was every bit as delicious as it looks, and I gratefully accepted a share offer. My Mac & Cheese was perfectly textured, and creamy. The Jalapeño flavor was delicate in the plate, reminiscent of some of the best stuffed peppers I've ever had. Again, enormous portion and I took half of it home with me. We never get dessert. Never. Today was different, as we needed top the night off with something from the dessert menu. We'd come this far, we needed to see it through. We ordered the banana cake, and we were not let down. Again, portions were huge (glad we decided to split it!) The "cream cheese" frosting married perfectly to the expertly baked banana cake. We left happy, and we even decided to bring two slices of pie home to our babysitters as a future bribe. While speaking with our server, we discovered another huge surprise. Their chef has not had any formal culinary training, and he comes up with the menu based on what fresh local produce is procured for the day. Chef does this from scratch, with no formal training. Mind blown. The final surprise came with our check. We had 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 3 craft beers, and 3 desserts (honest, we only ate 1). Our check was less than $100. I was certain there was a mistake, but everything was itemized on the bill, and it was all there. Lisbon, you have a gem in the Courthouse Inn. This was truly the most memorable restaurant experience of my life, and it immediately has become my favorite restaurant. The husband and I tried the courthouse Inn tonight For date night. Plain and simple, you must like veggies or pasta to enjoy eating here. We happen to love both! We were exquisitely surprised by the presentation and overall experience. The decor was not our style but it was kinda fun retro gaudy Poconos if you might. Definitely a date night restaurant. A few women came in with a toddler while we were there, but otherwise,it's not really family friendly. Different decor is fine with me as long as the food is good. We are not vegetarians but we are adventurous eaters. This restaurant offers experiences that I can hardly believe I could experience in Lisbon, Ohio. From purple sweet potatoes to purple cauliflower ...... yes naturally purple and not dyed because I asked. We had the spinach artichoke dip and I would return just for that dip. My husband had the meatloaf that consisted of mushrooms and artichokes while I had the autumn Wellington that we both agreed was a great pick. The food was filling and we left feeling good about what we had ate. We Also tried some cocktails with our meal and the lavender lemonade and fall sangria were refreshing and so good. I honestly love this place! I've never had a bad experience. It is a little pricy BUT they use amazing, clean ingredients and they source from local farmers. Such a cute environment, especially if you go when it's nice outside (their patio is so cute!!)! You definitely feel like you're in a different city when you're inside, so cool. The food is sooo good. You MUST try their cauliflower wings and their spinach and artichoke dip. SO GOOD one of my favorite dishes is their stuffed shells. Freakin amazing. And their deserts are made daily in house too! Last time I was there I had their chocolate fudge cake with a scoop of their homemade ice cream and it was so good. Their pizza is fantastic, their zucchini meatballs.. I've had stuff I like more than others but have never been disappointed here. 4 stars instead of 5 because I have had a few dishes come out incorrectly (example asked for no peppers and it came with) but that's it. The food was excellent and our server was great, but it is definitely NOT kid friendly. Walked in with our 3 year old and an infant carrier and the staff looked at us like we were nuts. Asked by 3 different people if we had a reservation, but at least 4 tables were open the whole time we were there. The decor is odd. We had the pleasure of spending three nights and having several meals in this amazing Inn where we enjoyed every moment of the hospitality of the hosts and staff. The Courthouse Inn is beautifully restored with masterful detail and decorated with enchanting ambience. From the handcrafted copper bar to the jade outdoor seating to the sparkle of crystals, you will be charmed from the moment you enter. Our rooms were lovely with eclectic, original artwork, stained glass, mirrors, and beautiful colors with all of the amenities necessary for a luxurious stay. The mattresses are amazing! We sat on the balcony each night with delicious cocktails from the bar (don't miss these - made with muddled fruit!) overlooking the beautiful courtyard lit by gas lamps and a stunning fireplace. Breakfast, which was included in our room rate, was wonderful. The menu is locally sourced, farm to table, organic ... wow! We enjoyed fresh-squeezed orange juice with crispy potatoes, farm-fresh eggs, and the most delectable corn gravy imaginable. The array of fresh fruit was mouthwatering. As a vegetarian, I was in heaven! We hosted a dinner in the restaurant for 20 people and the staff was efficient and welcoming. The menu features fantastic vegetarian options. We loved the barbecued cauliflower appetizer and a favorite of our table was the evening's special feature of fried green tomatoes on vegetable risotto, which was flavorful and expertly prepared by the well-trained chef. We were fortunate to meet the owner Renee Lewis and her husband Michael during our stay, who delighted us with a few details of the 11 year transformation and renovation of the Inn. Absolutely delicious! It's very difficult to find quality vegetarian food in this area. The food is on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. My folks are carnivores but they love this restaurant. It seems as though they go more often than I do. The atmosphere is great. It's sort of upscale casual...if that makes sense. Greatest thing to have happened to the town. WOW. After the fine dining of a big west coast city; trying a new restaurant in my old home town seemed questionable. So many people flat out harshly boycott vegetarian or vegan menus here. Do not be afraid! You will be so dazzled, you'll forget you wanted meat. The place is beautiful, very high end in comparison to the cafeteria style of most of the eateries in the area. The service was top notch. The food was a wonderful surprize. Try the zucchini balls. A bit spicy, but oh so delicious. The serving sizes were just as huge and midwestern as any other place. Too full to try dessert, we drooled over each and every cake and pie through the glass. Meant to write this review earlier but the holidays were a little hectic so I put it off. This place is absolutely amazing. I went with my mom and girlfriend so we ended up sharing three entree's. All the food was delicious! Our waitress was definitely the highlight of the night though. She was very knowledgeable, attentive, and kind to us throughout the entire meal. I believe her name was Mary Beth (?) but she deserves lots of praise. We ordered carrot cake and a slice of chocolate cake togo which were so amazing. The place was busy so we did have to come back later that night in order to get a table but it was well worth the wait. My girlfriend and I came here to eat at 3:45pm and we were handed brunch menus. We didn't want breakfast food so we requested lunch or dinner menus. The manager came over and said they don't serve dinner until 4pm (it was 3:45). So we asked if we could wait until 4pm for lunch/dinner food, the manager said no they had OUR table reserved at 5:30 for someone else. So we left! Walking in through back courtyard we were greeted by beautiful metal gates, stone walks, amazing granite stones and slab tables and a monstrous outdoor fireplace. The anticipation was high walking into the restaurant. While it is beautiful, for my first time in there it was an assault on the senses. There was so much to see. We were seated in the cafe by a cozy fireplace. The menu was unexpected, printed on neon paper, with every few option. It seemed strange in a place like this but they are a new restaurant so it's understandable. I personally would have preferred some options that didn't include a ton of carbs. Even a whole wheat option would have been ok. We started with a quesadilla. It was good my only complaint was the size of the potent raw onion in the quesadilla once I bit into a chuck it was all I could taste. The bruschetta was decent. I ordered the cucumber soup which was very strange. I traded it in for a salad which was the best part of the meal besides the pit in my black olive I thought I broke my tooth on. I didn't so we're good...wwheww! We ordered the lasagna and eggplant parm. The lasagna came out a huge piece. Awesome!! I don't mind paying $18 for two portions! However, the sauce was sickeningly sweet to the point I considered it inedible. I scraped my sauce off and dug into what seamed like 40 layers of slightly overcooked noodles placed on top of one another. Any type of ricotta or cheese or really anything that was supposed to be present was almost non existent and there was some type of vegetable I believe was zucchini that I don't recall being listed in the description (although I didn't mind it). I firmly believe there was a full cup of sugar smothering my single piece of lasagna. Even the noodles were sweet! Very disappointing to spend a pretty penny to go home hungry! (I did take the piece home to have others taste and input, only one out of 10 people didn't think it was too sweet to eat) The eggplant parm with some sort of risotto. The eggplant was good but it was sauced with their tomato sugar. The risotto was not edible. I'd describe it as mushy gloop with a very strange almost Elmer's glue taste. All of our deserts were good. No complaints there. However, we all felt as though we had a sugar buzz by that point. :) Moral of the story beautiful unique place to hang out I would absolutely love to sit outside when the weather is nice or stop in for a few drinks and an appetizer but only if they come down on the drink prices. Maybe a happy hour, drink of the day, anything to make it more affordable? Food Prices are high which would be ok if the food was worth it. I pay up to $40 for entree's at my favorite places. The lasagna I ate today was $18 I would value it around $8. I desperately hope in time the quality of the building because it is beautiful! I had the eggplant parmesan with risotto. I don't know that I've ever had eggplant that good. It was easy to cut but not mushy and not the least bit bitter. The risotto was disappointing. It was in a pile, not saucy. The flavor was slightly off but perhaps that is because I am used to it being made with chicken stock. My husband had the pot pie with a potato broccoli casserole side. Don't be afraid of the word "vegetarian"! It just means the chef gets to find creative ways to substitute a vegetable where you would normally find meat. If you are in the Lisbon area and are looking for fine dining, with a well executed and revolving vegetarian items, this is a home run. Our first visit was wonderful, the food was great as well as the deserts When calling in for seating for our second visit with an out of state visitor I was shocked to understand that coffee or any drink and deserts are not permitted. We were actually refused to be served, even with available seating I have traveled in most parts of the world and this was the first and only time I've run into being refused seating based on not having a full meal Needless to say this will be the last visit made to this establishment a nice place but extremely poor hospitality, almost a clannish. The place is beautiful. Sadly if you're a vegan don't rely on finding much here. I knew this going in that it was vegetarian / vegan not vegan / vegetarian. That was fine. The waitress gave us a menu for vegan options which sadly consisted of 4 meals. So out of like five pages I get 4 meals. Again I was grateful for that because it's still something that you usually can't find at a normal restaurant. I did like that they lowered the price when it did go vegan versus the vegetarian version which was more money. Sadly the meal I ordered did not come with mushrooms in which it said it did. I didn't get a chance to ask about it as our waitress disappeared after delivering the food not even asking if we needed anything else. We did not get the waitress to come back as she just walked past us to help other tables. The problem was that our drinks were empty and we had to make it through the whole entire meal with nothing to drink just trying to drink the water from our ice. Finally after the meal she came close enough that my fiance could ask her for a refill which shouldn't happen if you're a waitress you shouldn't have to wait till your table asks you for things you should check up on your table and make sure they're okay. I was also sad to find out that they didn't have one vegan dessert. Not one. Not a vegan cake or a vegan cupcake which are very easy to make as I make them at home. That was quite disappointing. I don't know if I'll ever be back because the prices are really high for what you're getting but the food was very beautiful. The owner redid this building (the oldest in Ohio) with keeping elegance, and the time period of construction in mind, features were added to really make the restaurant stand out.
