I have long enjoyed one of the coldest beers in Sydney, meat raffles, a good shnitty & Chicks with Pics on a Sunday. The receptionist told my that check in was at 2:30 and I could check my bags with him until then. I asked if there was a lounge or a cafe in the hotel where I could wait until check in, as I had just gotten off a 9 hour flight and I was quite tired. I was told the hotel had no restaurant or lounge; however, he would check to see if there was a room ready. Luckily, there was. I was given room 4-1, a corner room that was full of tall windows. The room was long and, with the shades up, very bright and clean. The bed was perfectly made and very comfy. The bathroom was gorgeous, with a large shower that had amazing water pressure. Housekeeping came everyday and brought fresh towels and made the bed. I was pleasantly surprised by the room, considering my first impression was not the best. The hotel is perfectly located on George St., close to the CBD and diagonally across from the Central Terminal where buses and trains pass through. It's a 15 minute walk to the Sydney Tower and 25 minute walk to Darling Harbour / King Street Wharf where you'll find tons of restaurants, a mall, and the Sea Life Aquarium, Zoo and Madam Tousauds.
