They printed the mini that was supposed to be printed on Friday, March 14th. This sibling was my only sister, and my reason for living past the age of 14. What a highly offensive way to treat something that meant a lot to me! I have read online of other people who have had issues with the Shawnee News Star misprinting or omitting their loved ones obituaries completely - they need to find out what the issue is and get it resolved as this is a serious liability-obituaries are loved ones way of letting everyone know about the death, and to mess those up is to treat our grief as irrelevant and mocks our attempts to honor our loved departed ones.

When we checked in we were pulling an 18 ft trailer with 2 Harley Davidson Motorcycles and 1 Honda Shadow. All 3 were strapped down with bright orange straps. The trailer is brand new and is black with white designs on it. It also has a rear right light blown out which was caused from a tire blowout and also a dented fender. We checked in around 11:45 pm and parked on the side of the front entrance right at the front check in. On Tuesday morning we came out to leave and our trailer and all 3 motorcycles were gone. Someone had jacked our trailer off of our truck and pulled the trailer back about 20 ft. There was a mark in the asphalt that showed how far back it was drug. The law was called and a report was filed. To our surprise this hotel has no cameras at all to provide security for anything in the parking lot. The manager patted my shoulder and said so sorry to his happened! Really? $40,000.00 worth of motorcycles and trailer stolen right from the front of the hotel and nobody saw anything? Wanted to share our awful experience with whoever will listen!

I quit getting the Norman Transcript shortly after I got off the City Council in 2008 because I was…read moretired of picking it up out of the street or gutter every day. On Feb 28th the circulation manager was at Crest pushing the paper. I told him why I quit getting it. He asked where I wanted it and I told him my front porch.. just like when I delivered newspapers in Wisconsin as a kid. He said if I subscribed, he would guarantee it would make it to my porch, and if it didnt I should call. We agreed on a three month trial for $25.00, and I paid in cash (big mistake, but I dont normally carry checkbook and dont trust them with my credit card). I figured three months would be enough time to determine if they could consistently find my pourch. He said it would take a week to 10 days for the paper to start. I didnt get a paper. I called the circulation dept and left a message. The same guy was at Crest on March 13th. I complained that i had never received a paper When I was leaving Crest he told me he took care of it, and the subscription start date would be adjusted.. still no paper...I called and emailed.. no paper... I called again March 25th, finally getting a human, and demanded that since they were unable to provide me with a newspaper, i wanted my money refunded. i was told that was handled from out of town and would take up to a month. today i got mail from the transcript. No, not my refund, no not an apology, it is a renewal notice ! I left them a nasty message.

Closed door school board decisions? Statements by, the replacement coach to the order of "if she finds out any girls on her team, she will kick them off?" When can you make statements like this to children with no repercussions? Yet, our media is held to it's "word"? Yeah. Get real. The sun has no balls to tell the truth about what's happening in it's own backyard

It took months to hear back from this paper when notified that articles had had mistakes in them. I shudder to think how long it would take to start or cancel a subscription with that kind of crappy customer service. Papers like this that choose to employ such editors should go extinct. To any of you who might read this, do yourself a favor and choose a different publication, you'll be better informed and less stressed (believe me, it's not worth dealing with the Edmond Sun)!
