Call first to make sure he's in! It's not hard! Give him a ring! (was that a bad pun? probably.)…read more So, my experience here was pretty cut-and-dry, but it went smoothly and I'd definitely come back! We just moved across town from one side of Main to the other, and I found an old ring I never wear. I knew what it was made of, so I went online to estimate how much it'd be worth - about $25 from my overestimate of the mass in grams. I called the place up since he was local and because I was impressed by his response to some Google reviews and asked if he could take a look at my ring. He said he would, and asked when I could come in. I was in Glen Burnie coming out of a sketchy pawn shop so I was there in 25 minutes. His operation is simple, although I'll admit I know nothing about cash for gold places. He has a clean, homey, no-nonsense setup with the current gold prices posted on the back wall, and the scale right where you can see the weight on the display. He does the multiplication in the calculator and there's his offer. Easy and no BS. It matched what I had put in online and I was satisfied. The whole interaction took maybe three minutes. Plus, I found out we both served in Operation Enduring Freedom. Sweet! Really nice guy and would recommend this place if you have gold chilling at your house. If I find any more I'm taking it to him.

After reading a couple reviews I had relatively high expectations for this place. I remember…read morereading things like, "they won't take advantage of you", "they are reasonable", "will work with you". I went here with some electronics that I had received as gifts but never used before so I thought let's see if we can make a deal rather than have it sitting in my garage collecting dust. I walk into the shop and notice they have a police officer on duty, though he is more focused on his phone than observing the store. After a couple minutes of standing there with my items a man with a goatee (who I assume is the owner of the shop, or manager) approaches me and without even greeting me just looks at my stuff and says, "I'm interested in these two, but not this." then takes the boxes to the counter and he walks to his computer in the backroom. Ok, so I follow him and wait for him to come back out of the backroom while he's googling my items in order to make a proposal. He comes out from the back and says,"I'll offer you $10 for those. I have a bunch of stuff like this and people want things cheap around here." LOL...I respond by saying, "you don't have anything like this in here, $10 really?" Where he then responds with, "People want things cheap around here." He was serious, and not open to negotiating. I pick up my stuff and walk out. The total retail price for the items I brought in were over $200. I understand the guy's motivation for wanting to make a profit, but to downright lowball me and not even consider negotiating was just insulting. I suppose I'm too idealistic to think people can be honest and fair with you in a transaction like this. It was a definite mistake and a waste of time to drive to this place rather than doing what most folks do which is sell it on eBay, Amazon, Craigslist, and Wallapop. Unless you're extremely desperate for a couple dollars, and do not have time to sell your items through the online merchandisers, and even after asking your network if they're interested in purchasing your items, and only if your life is on the line then go to this place. But I warn you, this place preys on the weak and despondent. You will be treated disrespectfully, and lowballed for sure.

So I googled pawnshops while I was out and about and found G & G Pawnbrokers. I called and the Guy on the phone was very friendly and told me to come on in. I made my way there and was able to get enough cash to hold me to payday. I went again and G&G Pawnbrokers are under new management! Interest rates are lower! The young lady I dealt with was very nice. All and all G&G Pawnbrokers will work with you to get the cash you need. FYI, they have layaway for TV and Jewelry! Thanks G&G Pawnbrokers!
