County Clays lies embedded in the grounds of Dunkeld Country House Hotel in Dunkeld, up a small country road. It's a separate business to the hotel and well sign posted to get there.
Booking is easy. You call their number and might get their answering machine. If you leave a message, they will call you back as soon as they can. There are not many instructors, but the ones that are there are very well educated in shooting and efficient in training others.
Clark is the founder of this business and he did a very good job in making this place into a success story that it is today. I must confess that so far he is the best clay pigeon shooting teacher I ever had. Well, as much as newbies go......
All of the activities are outdoors: Clay Pigeon Shooting, Archery and Rifle shooting.
The surroundings are absolutely amazing. You might even cross ways with deer and rabbits. Not that they will be the targets. Of course not :-) Even with all the shooting noises going on they stay their grounds and watch you doing your "moves" - if you have some :-)
There is an extensive package offered with a lot of variations. For Clay Pigeon Shooting you can start of with 12 clays , 25 clays or if you can manage and are a real professional maybe 50-75 clays. Prices are pretty reasonable. I also understood that you are welcome to this range to practice any of your shooting skills or even join the shooting club Clark had founded.
The clubhouse is small, but cozy.
I will be back and maybe you will manage one day too? :-) read more
