The staff, Joe and Maddie were fun, welcoming, humorous , and incredibly knowledgeable, making everyone feel comfortable and safe while still delivering an exciting adventure. Maddie was exceptional at keeping everyone hydrated continuously handing out waters to everyone, chatted with the guests and made sure we were having fun. Joe, is an very funny, fun and exceptional driver and kept us all very safe while navigating a very busy day on the river and even allowing us to have a little fun on the way down and see a little water on the windshield ;) All while always keeping safety in mind. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and the guides shared so many historical interesting facts about the area's history, wildlife, and geology along the way, which made the trip even more enjoyable. Their passion for what they do really shows. They stopped to let us swim and picked a spot that we had all to ourselves! Later they provided a thoughtful box lunch which was very good! Sandwich, chips, carrots with ranch dip, cookie and a granola bar! Whether you're a first-time visitor or someone who just loves the outdoors, this is an experience that's well worth it. The combination of beautiful views, historical points, continuous education on the area and its settlers and outstanding customer service made for a day we'll never forget. I would absolutely book with Snake River Outdoor Adventures again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for an incredible experience!

Gift shop has chainsaw doggies you can take home (or you can custom order your own furry wooden friend, which we've done twice) 6. The park has other interesting art, all created by Frances and Dennis 7. Good water pressure. So many large hotel chains have poor water pressure, so it's always a pleasure when a small mom and pop shop make it right. And finally, Dennis and Frances are such an interesting couple to chat with. They make the place feel so welcoming and even remembered details about our lives even though it's been two years since we last stayed here. Beyond being the creators of Sweet Willy, they are what make this B&B the best we've ever been to. My boyfriend and I go out of our way to come here and it always feel like we're coming to another home. We love coming to Dog Bark Park and can't wait for our next visit.

We got right in and asked to be seated on the patio as the sun would be going down over the next hour. The patio is right up on the Snake River offering a great view for our dinner! Walking through the interior was also quite the visual feast...a handful of large rooms and a large bar with a bunch of motley decorations everywhere. The nicest looking room was a rotunda in the back but nobody was sitting in there...not sure if it's for private events only. The menu had a lot of choices...which in my years of dining usually means they offer quantity over quality. And that came to fruition as we received and ate our meals. I ordered the Hazel's Famous Fried Shrimp and my son got the Cod N Chips. These were the smallest shrimp I've ever seen in the restaurant...the broccoli dwarfed it! The breading was also awful as it was soggy and falling off the shrimp. If these are famous, I'd hate to see the shrimp that didn't get the part. My son said his cod was 'alright' but said the tartar sauce was the worst tartar sauce he's ever had. It looked like curdled 2% milk. The table we sat at on the patio was tiny and barely held the two dinner plates. The chairs were also cheap metal and my back and bottom were sore after an hour. At least our server was friendly...and when she asked 'how was your meal' when picking up our dishes, we said it wasn't great and she replied 'yeah...' and walked back inside. That was actually a pretty funny way to end the meal.

The downsides: - Take-out sometimes takes a super long time (even if you order online well in advance). - They recently took steak off their menu. We were bummed because it's one of the easiest things to get for my husband (food allergies) and on our most recent visit the whole reason we came was because a friend wanted steak (and eggs). - When you order fish & chips they normally ask which side you'd like and I usually pick coleslaw. This means I'm expecting fish & chips with coleslaw. What they deliver instead is fish & coleslaw. Sometimes I'm glad for the lighter meal but sometimes I really am craving some fries so it's annoying. I think I tried to talk to a waitress about it once but the conversation didn't go anywhere. I don't know if I'll order it a third time but I might be tempted to just because I'm curious to see what will arrive next time I ask for "fish & chips with coleslaw." We haven't explored their arcade yet. They used to also have a casino/card room but it closed in about 2025.

What an unforgettable adventure of a lifetime! I just…read morereturned from an incredible 6-day, 5-night journey down Idaho's Main Salmon River with Mackay Wilderness River Trips. Our group of 16 adventurous women experienced the thrill of Class III and IV rapids while surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery I've ever seen. We were accompanied by five exceptional young men who were the epitome of true gentlemen. They took amazing care of us every step of the way--preparing five-star breakfasts, lunches, and dinners complete with appetizers and delicious desserts, setting up our tents, sharing fascinating history about the river, and, most importantly, keeping us safe on the water. Their professionalism, kindness, and hard work made the trip even more memorable. Each day brought incredible wildlife sightings, including bald eagles soaring overhead, ospreys, an otter, great blue herons, merganssers, and bighorn sheep. Evenings were spent relaxing around camp with great food, plenty of adult beverages, wonderful conversation, and sleeping under a sky full of stars. The rapids were exhilarating, the scenery was spectacular, the company was unforgettable, and the memories will last a lifetime. My expectations for the weekend were blown out of the water (literally) in the first ten minutes on the jet boat ride. I don't think we stopped smiling for 3 days. I can't imagine a more beautiful setting for a wedding if rivers and mountains hold a piece of your heart. The staff was incredibly fun and accommodating. Dax is the cutest 6 year old host you'll ever meet and I felt almost no stress before the wedding because I knew Joni had everything under control. If you want a wild jet boat ride, jump on Bucks boat ;) Mackay Bar is truly a hidden gem in Idaho. All of my friends and family are texting me that we forever ruined their expectation of a wedding. Sunset horseback rides, fishing, hiking and phenomenal food. I am forever grateful for our wedding weekend and Mackay Bar and we are plotting to get back there as soon as possible.
