A very convenient place on the resort grounds if you need some essentials. Wanted to get some…read moresouvenirs so stooped in here to see what they had. It was a nice little store. They have a build a bear type of section that you can customize to you preference. They also had a coffee bar that is can get a quick drink. They have a little grocery section if you want some snacks or beverages. I grabbed some water and sodas for me and my daughter. Prices reminded me of 7 eleven so expect to pay a little more. It was very convenient since it was close by.

This place gets a 4 for convenience. It's on the resort so you don't need to drive to Food Lion…read more(the closest grocery store which is about 10 minutes away). The grocery section is pretty small but had everything I was looking for - sliced bread, fruit, vegetables, and milk. The price is roughly 2 times what you would expect to pay at Food Lion though - $5 for half a gallon of milk, $5 for a loaf of bread, etc. There's also an assortment of souvenirs if you're interested in that kind of thing, including a mini Build a Bear type machine (where you stuff the animal with cotton and pick out an outfit). Although we didn't go fishing at Massanutten, we did hear that you can buy fishing bait, a fishing license, and rent fishing gear here too. Apparently their lakes are stocked 8 times a year so there's always fish!

We were traveling east bound on Rte 33 going towards the…read moreSwift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park, and were attracted to this Wawa gas station by a road sign that advertised unleaded gas for only $2.57/gallon. An Exxon station a few miles back on Rte 33 (at the entrance to Massanutten) was offering $2.87/gallon, and we thought that that was a good deal! Reaching the Wawa was an easy off/on either Rte 33 or the Rockingham Pike. We discovered that this Wawa appears to be brand new, as everything from the building to the gas pumps was new and sparkly. The gas pumps area was well laid out, with more than sufficient space between cars. We paid at the pump. Wawa's website indicates that this is their first location in Rockingham County and the Harrisonburg area, and is open 24 hours. The gas station offers unleaded and premium gas, as well as diesel, while the convenience store has clean restrooms and a good variety of coffee (hot and iced), lattes/smoothies, hoagies, wraps, breakfast sandwiches, snacks, and more. We only bought gas this time.

We went into the store and were followed by an employee and being stared down by her. We ordered two separate orders. One of them already came out but we were waiting for our second order. While we were waiting, we were laughing and having fun and the same employee who was staring us down told us to be quiet or she would ask us to leave, which is understandable we were a bit loud. After that interaction we were looking at the verity of sweetener that they offered. We got our drinks and then the same employee again told us "This is not a hangout place" technically telling us to leave. This was the second we got our second drinks, by the way. We were just waiting for our drinks. After we got our drinks we were going to leave either way. After we left and got into our car, the employee went to the register where theres a window and was still staring us down, through the damn window. I've never experienced racism like this. We most likely got stereotyped because we were brown. If you're traveling, don't come to this place if you're a person of color. This employee was a tall skinny old white woman with blonde hair and a pony tail wearing a teal shirt. It was only one employee who ruined the experience for all of us, the rest of the employees were super nice.
