I originally passed by this Exxon, but the second gas station I came across on U.S. 340 North headed out of town - another Exxon, had no pay at the pump option - so I returned here to gas up. Full convenience store, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and more here as well.

They also offered a good price for unleaded gas, $2.87/gallon, which was lower than "back home." Access is easier if you're coming out of Massanutten, rather than going in. This is a popular gas station, and the pumps do get busy. Note, however, upon traveling just a few miles down Spotswood Trail/Rte. 33, we found both BP and Wawa gas stations near Elkton offering unleaded gas for $2.57/gallon. The cashier and I had a good laugh about how much I love Gibbles and she was so sweet! There are aisles of snacks, beverages, sundries, and other items that are needed when traveling , like car chargers! I love the exterior and the landmark bear on the roof!

We were traveling east bound on Rte 33 going towards the…read moreSwift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park, and were attracted to this Wawa gas station by a road sign that advertised unleaded gas for only $2.57/gallon. An Exxon station a few miles back on Rte 33 (at the entrance to Massanutten) was offering $2.87/gallon, and we thought that that was a good deal! Reaching the Wawa was an easy off/on either Rte 33 or the Rockingham Pike. We discovered that this Wawa appears to be brand new, as everything from the building to the gas pumps was new and sparkly. The gas pumps area was well laid out, with more than sufficient space between cars. We paid at the pump. Wawa's website indicates that this is their first location in Rockingham County and the Harrisonburg area, and is open 24 hours. The gas station offers unleaded and premium gas, as well as diesel, while the convenience store has clean restrooms and a good variety of coffee (hot and iced), lattes/smoothies, hoagies, wraps, breakfast sandwiches, snacks, and more. We only bought gas this time.

We went into the store and were followed by an employee and being stared down by her. We ordered two separate orders. One of them already came out but we were waiting for our second order. While we were waiting, we were laughing and having fun and the same employee who was staring us down told us to be quiet or she would ask us to leave, which is understandable we were a bit loud. After that interaction we were looking at the verity of sweetener that they offered. We got our drinks and then the same employee again told us "This is not a hangout place" technically telling us to leave. This was the second we got our second drinks, by the way. We were just waiting for our drinks. After we got our drinks we were going to leave either way. After we left and got into our car, the employee went to the register where theres a window and was still staring us down, through the damn window. I've never experienced racism like this. We most likely got stereotyped because we were brown. If you're traveling, don't come to this place if you're a person of color. This employee was a tall skinny old white woman with blonde hair and a pony tail wearing a teal shirt. It was only one employee who ruined the experience for all of us, the rest of the employees were super nice.

LOCATION. This is the closest gas station to Massanutten. We stopped here only to fill up on gas…read more ACCESS TO/FROM PUMPS. Given the layout of the road to/from Massanutten, this gas station is easier to access when leaving Massanutten rather than going in. Once in, there are multiple pumps that were relatively easy to access. It tends to be a busy station with cars accessing the pumps and the parking spots directly in front of the store. GAS PRICE. The price per gallon was competitive with prices that we had seen on our way to Massanutten from central Virginia. We did notice a station on Rte. 33 towards Harrisonburg that was 2-cents per gallon cheaper later on the same day. We didn't go into the store, but noticed a sign for "Raise the Roost", chicken and biscuits which are sold in the store.

They also have beautiful mum flowers for sale and a pumpkin patch in their garden area this fall. Highly recommended!
