Warning: Review Coercion & $1,100+ Pricing Discrepancy…read more I used Santa Air for five years and recommended them to many friends. Unfortunately, their business model has changed from "honest and hardworking" to "opaque and manipulative." The Technical Issues: In 2020, Santa Air installed my trane system but failed to properly connect the emergency heat strips. I spent five winters wondering why my house wouldn't stay warm below 30°F. They missed this mistake during every subsequent maintenance visit over the 5 years. Recently, they tried to charge me $1,700 for repairs I didn't need. A second opinion confirmed their diagnosis was wrong; that technician fixed Santa Air's original installation mistake and the actual sensor issue for a total of $575. The Billing Issues: Their current pricing "tiers" (Bronze, Silver, Gold) are incredibly over-inflated compared to other local HVAC companies. And if you only need a repair included in the Gold tier, you have to pay for all the things you don't need in the tiers below it. When I realized the invoice was vague and the work wasn't needed, I cancelled. The Ethics Issue: The most disappointing part was the office's response. They tried to emotionally guilt-trip me. They held my refund hostage, telling me they would only return my money if I removed my negative reviews. I refused to be coerced and had to fight for three months through my bank to recover the funds for services never rendered. Don't let the high star rating fool you--they are actively pressuring customers to delete bad experiences. Always get a second opinion!!!

Last year there was an issue with a part that should have been under warranty which cost me $2500 in labor costs. To avoid this I was sold an extended warranty, this year the AC unit stopped working again. The excuse I was given was that the panel is in the sun. The panel has been in the sun since the house was built. Terrible customer service and it seems like they aren't sure what they are doing. I wouldn't recommend. They even went so far as to charge me service fees without my authorization for something they didn't even fix. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

I've got to say, if you're needing hvac help this is the company to go with. The care I received…read morewas really unbelievable it was 10-star's. Deirdre and Paul are true small business owners who value their customers, and when I say they go the extra mile it's no joke. If you need any hvac help I would say to support these business owners, you won't be let down. It's Labor Day, it's getting hot, I've called my home warranty guess what, ya, their closed, like most businesses on a holiday, so I go online and make a claim. Shortly there after I receive my appt. For the next day, great only one more day to put up with this heat along with my wife and three dogs... not good. I've spoken to Deirdre several months earlier, so I pull up their number and text her not expecting anything to happen, well to my surprise she gets back to me in a timely manner. I'm thinking it's still going to be the next day. She starts off helping me try to troubleshoot, and after nothing I'm doing is working will see you tomorrow, but then she text me back saying her husband Paul will come by and check it out. Wow, what a relief, and oh by the way the man is thorough, replaces a fuse that was burned out, the fan motor which was bad and found several other issues that he's going to check into the following days and get back to me. That's what I call top-notch service and that's why we need to support our small businesses.
