MVP is the discount card they have, it's hit or miss if your just coming off street. If you browse for the deals beforehand you can probably get better value from this program. The wine and beer section is large prices reasonable. The international section is missing a West Indies/Caribbean portion; there were crackers but not ones we wanted the variety pack that pair w cheese. The parking lot is not small but seems cramped, the aisles are not long enough. The store is on the corner of this funky 5 way stop in Florence, I'm not sure if that contributes to parking lot layout. For us, we only stop here for few items can't find regular shopping location. For those that don't mind higher prices this store is for your grocery needs.

This has been the reality for several businesses as we feel the economy on our backs, but Walmart and the indecisive McDonalds - two giants - are easily my biggest contenders. I will never make fun of Walmart again…read more It was a Sunday, and we were traveling north on I-95 in South Carolina trying to beat Hurricane Sandy home. We had started the drive from central Florida at 5:00 AM. Suddenly, as I was driving, a piece of something came out of nowhere and went under the tires. A little while later the tire pressure light came in. We stopped at a gas station and I could hear the air coming out of the tire. After establishing that the next place we could get a tire change was at a Walmart off the next freeway exit, we started back north on a wish and a prayer. When we got to the Walmart, the staff took a no nonsense matter of fact approach to getting our work done. From the way they acted, I thought it would be hours before we were back on the road. However, they were able to sell us a comparable tire to the ones we had on the car at a reasonable price. Shockingly, they didn't try to sell us more than one, even though I asked if we should just get 2. In all, we were back on the road in less than an hour. And yes, we beat the storm.

When I finally got their attention, they told me the scale was broken, which added more time to my wait. When I tried to buy some heated deli items instead, I found out there were none available, even though it was still early in the afternoon. She did provide me with the deli items. When I got home, I realized they gave me a pound of turkey instead of chicken, and it cost over $11. I'm not a fan of turkey, so I was very disappointed. I know that talking to the management won't help, as this store is the only one in town and seems to disregard customer concerns. I've also noticed expired items on sale and brought them to Customer Service, but they don't seem to take it seriously. I think the corporate office needs to investigate the situation at the Manning Walmart more closely.

Not only are the prices fantastic, but I love how simple everything is here. Yes there is a downside such as not many name brands and not as many options to choose from. However, I guarantee that you can get the majority of your grocery staples here for a fraction of what you will pay at Walmart or any other store. The weekly sales on meat and produce are wonderful and many items such as the peaches are locally sourced from SC. My favorite items include their coffee (many different types such as single origin and holiday flavors to choose from), hummus, specialty pasta, fancy cheeses, and take and bake pizzas. Aldi also has a various home and seasonal items in their "finds isle." I always pick up their great candles from here. A few tips before your trip here: Bring a quarter for a cart- You need to put a quarter in the cart to release it from the row. You get it back at the end when you return your cart. Bring your own reusable bags. If you ever forget, they have ones for purchase. Enjoy the savings!
