I have shopped in this store for years but today I was treated so poorly at the check out that I just had to leave my merchandise and walk out in tears. It was very busy but person behind counter was very frustrated and overwhelmed and decided that speaking in a demeaning tone to me was okay. Well it's not. A fun collectible store. My 7 y/o granddaughter loved it! I had to explain what some of the items were used for in the "old days". We are going to be building a house. I love to mix old with new. I will definitely come back to look for item to use when decorating. read more

I didn't know that the Country Store was a consignment center, or a limited liability corporation. I just knew that it was a large white box off of Isaacs called Country Store. It's a thrift store, but emphasizes the obsolete and terrifying over the practical. There's a whole lot of ancient computer equipment (mostly inkjet printers for which I highly doubt one could find cartridges in 2009), cheap novels, regional Christian LPs from the seventies that I don't have the heart to buy, and fairly non-threatening paintings in non-threatening frames. It's relatively well-organized and the woman at the counter is quite helpful. She also has remarkable hearing, given that we quietly said something about the foosball table from thirty feet away and she yelled an answer back at us. The first floor gets a 3/5 maybe for being an okay consignment store with nothing I really wanted or needed. The second store is a solid ?/5, or perhaps both a 5/5 and a 1/5 simultaneously (note that this is not a 3/5). Before one ventures upstairs, they're greeted by a warning about how one shops the upstairs of the Country Store at their own risk, as there's no air conditioning and Walla Walla does get quite hot in July and August. I think that this warning can be extended year-round, as the upstairs' content is every bit as alarming as 107-degree heat (in which I wouldn't shop at the Country Store, or anywhere, really). The upstairs area is a sea of clothing with plastic Christmas trees. There is no organization or logic to the summit of the Country Store; it's a seemingly endless assortment of piles upon piles of clothing of questionable origin, mostly scattered about on the floor or perhaps placed strategically by some means utterly beyond me. When we encountered the room full of vacuums and carpet shampooers, my boss got frightened and we left, having concluded that the Country Store was a thing and we may have survived it. Unfortunately, Yelp isn't going to be pleased with me if I leave this with no star rating. And I honestly have no idea what to give the Country Store, since I've never bought anything from it, I'm terrified of it, and enthusiastically recommend that one takes in the second floor at least once if someone ever tricks them into coming to Walla Walla. A 3/5 just sounds unenthused, so I really can't do that. 1/5 is too harsh. I'm leaving it at 5/5 because it's fascinating, but I don't get out much and I'm fairly certain I'll encounter something infinitely crazier in the future. I have visited WW several times in the past year, and The Country Store has been a stop each time. I was not unhappy with the customer service - in fact the woman at the counter held an unpriced item for me and contacted the owner to get a price, then promptly called back to follow up with me. She was nice and professional. Even better, I had so much fun looking through all the booths. The store has a wide variety of both antique/vintage items and one-of-a-kind locally decorated furniture and shabby chic decor items. I bought books for between $1 and $4, some embellished wooden hangers for my daughter's room and my sweetie found the COOLEST metal framed table for $19 - grrrrrr. . . .(I wish I'd seen it first!) read more

Poor customer service. I currently live in California but I am from Walla Walla and always have to make a visit to the Country Store. However it seems within the past year or so the service has gone downhill. I walked in and the woman behind the counter did not acknowledge me whatsoever. She I presume was the owner and had a very snotty attitude towards me and other customers. Each time I go in, I get the same treatment from this woman. Needless to say I will not be back. read more

This is a great place, the new owner has cleaned it up and it is really neat and organized now with a large number of booths. There is a big variety of items including antiques, mid century, shabby chic, handmade, pretty much anything you can think of. While the above review was entertaining, I need to note that The Country Store has changed hands, and completely reorganized. It's now an antique mall and consignment center with a great selection, neatly organized vendors and a revamped upstairs due to open November 1st. Yes, this was at one time one of my favorite junking spots, but I have to admit I much prefer the new and improved version! read more

Walked thru this store to check out the antiques and when I found an item I liked I asked if they can deal with it thru the booth owners. The owner of this store says (young dark haired woman) its the lowest they would go and can not call them. She didn't even try to call them for me. I persisted she call them and she finally said she would try. To my surprise the booth owners said they would take a chunk off the item since it has been there for awhile. I felt like I was pushed into buying an item to get me out the door, being the store owner did not care about saving a dime or two for me and it made me feel upset that she would not go beyond to help me save a few dollars. I will be more forwards next time I feel that I can get a better deal instead of her shutting me off. This is not good customer service and I feel this store will not survive if she doesn't go the extra mile for us that want to save a few dollars in this sagging economy. Its people like us that will keep her going, but with this attitude I might just frequent another antique store instead of this one. read more
