Behind the greenhouse, we had a delightful time listening to our instructors who clearly have worked side by side at the farm. Educational facts about herbs with a sprinkling of humor began the event. It is so wonderful to attend a class where they share their knowledge about the herbs and their uses. They give you salient advice that helps you decide on which herbs fit the taste profile you enjoy so you build your herb pot on what fits you. Then to top it all off they gave us a handout that covered trimming, drying and pairing herbs as well as a few recipes! A wonderful experience! Thank you for making my Mother's day extra special!

We still scored great deals on Christmas items, including Twinkly brand Christmas lights (win) and pet-safe salt, which felt like one of those practical-but-satisfying finds. What really sets Esbenshade's apart is peak season. When spring and summer roll around, this place is unmatched. I buy all of my garden plants and flowers here, and I could easily spend hours just wandering, planning flower beds, and dreaming up layouts. The space is vibrant, colorful, and overflowing with healthy plants, and it's genuinely inspiring if you love gardening even a little bit. Even in the quieter months, Esbenshade's still feels welcoming and worth the stop. In season? It's absolute garden heaven.

Homestead Gardens was a pretty large nursery in a small rural area. I came here because there was…read morean orchid festival that brought me here. The store itself had a wide selection, far bigger than the garden area of Home Depot or Lowes. Despite the orchid festival being present, the nursery still had many of their own orchids on sale. I wouldn't say any of them are that rare by any means, but the selection and display was pretty reasonable. The festival happened in the back area of the nursery under a few tents. There was a lot to choose from, so it's a nice event to attend if you're around the area when it happens. There were also a lot of non-orchid items, like pots, soil, and any other gardening items you may needs. Overall, it's a cool nursery to come to if you're in the area.

Been going mostly weekly now for a few years. Buyer BEWARE! While they say "Protect what you buy",…read morethe nature of the action set-up allows ample opportunity for theft. With three auctions going at once and running between the different auctioneers, and crowds around individual tables that don't allow you to load up right away till after they move off to other tables or rows, it's easy to lose "watch" over your stuff. Go back to get the car to load...stuff gone. Carry one load to the car and come back for the rest.....stuff gone. They allow buyer to buy rows or large lots of things. What you don't want, you leave behind and they will throw it away. But people think if you don't don't immediately remove items, they are up for grabs. "Lot Lizards" that never buy patrol the field section. Anything not being watched, will be quickly picked over. The auction does have signs that says...."If you didn't buy it...its not yours. Nothing is free". But even once someone is caught and asked to leave, they return the next week. I love this auction. But a little more effort in protecting their buyers needs to happen. It's really gotten out of hand with rampant theft this year. If you go to buy.....don't turn your back for one minute or leave your car unlocked.
