St corn salad absolutely lovely. Fried plantains made for a great dessert. The Tex Mex coleslaw was surprisingly simple - coleslaw with some seasoning sprinkled on top. With everything else being so good and well presented, I'm surprised. It was still good though. Good to know: Keep in mind there are no tables. But everything got home well. Fries, burgers, hot dogs... and all things we didn't need before noon. But when you're in rural Ontario and see a chip wagon, you go. Just go. We ordered small fries for $5.50, which could pass for a large elsewhere, and a Pickle Chips Poutine for $13.25. Staff were quick and friendly and we waited just 6 minutes for our order while the local crowd started to form a line. Some fries were a bit soggy for my liking, but overall good. Salt, pepper, malt vinegar (YES) and ketchup are at the order window. My plain fries needed salt - not a complaint! My guy's poutine was a massive portion with a good mound of cheese curds, decent beefy gravy, and topped with fried dill pickles. You have to try this combo! Take a seat at one of the 5 shaded picnic tables, and enjoy. We took most of ours to go and finish later. Took off a star because the only plant-based option is plain fries. Not even a burger! Tip 1: Go on a weekday before noon. Seems like the locals come for lunch at exactly 12:00! Tip 2: Bring cash. There's a $2 surcharge for any type of card payment, including debit.

I ordered the 1 pound donair loaded with onions, tomatoes and cheese. I wouldn't have complained about this normally, although in this case there were several factors which gave me room to start the Yelp journey. A. Given the price it was fair if it was what I received. As shown in the accompanying photos it indicates the actual donair weight without the pita (which missed the mark) was only a half pound, there was a definite lack of onions and tomatoes further illuminating the lack of sauce on the donair which actually had no cheese which I had to pay an up-charge for. B. This is not the first time this has happened and as such my sympathy for the business (although popular) is lacking due to a lack of effort by whoever was cooking. (Of note, it is Father's Day and it was very busy, though I would have preferred the proper food vs something quickly pushed to the side with lower quality.) Of note, it's a great place, though there is definite room for improvement before I can in good conscience say the food matches the ambiance. Hopefully these hiccup's can be avoided in future through better commitment to quality control.
