Amazing home style food. Fish and chips and chicken fingers are really good. Need work on making Sundays.

Always fresh and made to order. The service is friendly and the tables are spotless. Call ahead for takeout as there may be a wait!

Service is fine tables a little dirty but the food was pretty good I liked the fries and dressing they had

Tables were dirty when we walked in which was a turn off , I had the fish and chips , cod wasn't fresh and was very tough and rubbery , there were 4 of us and when we left we all agreed it was probably the worst meal we've ever had out .... I was given a plastic fork for my fish and chips , no plastic knife ... overall a crappy experience, would not recommend read more

This place is not as good as it use to be, Last time I ate from there I got food poisoning so yea it's a no Beuno from me

Absolutely over priced fries that's for sure! Over $6.00 for a small fries!!! Fries are average and the kind you find at chip wagons throughout Canada but ONLY if you get them at the right time otherwise they are either too soggy or not cooked long enough. Before anyone accuses me of waiting too long to eat the fries and complain of them being soggy, I parked in the back of the lot immediately after getting them so not a chance they get that soggy that quickly. Another thing that really annoys me is their lack of soft drink choices. They only offer Coke products. I'm a grown man and if I prefer a Pepsi, I should be given the option and choice of soft drinks and not be forced to choose only Coke products. Yeah I know, first world problems and all, but in this day and age of consumerism and capitalism, you'd think this place would cover all bases and offer BOTH products for their customers to choose from. But nope, not here. I guess the incentives of carrying Coke only products trumps customer satisfaction. The chicken is brutal. It used to be good but there's more flavour and taste in a Swanson's Chicken TV dinner than there is from Country Delight. Sad to see what once used to be a popular take out joint slide into a very mediocre take out joint. read more

The name is country delight. But the chicken and chips I just purchased was far from delightful. The chicken was as dry as a cork and the fries was soggy and under cooked. When you go out for some fast food..your expecting it to be good..you expect it to be better than you can do at home..but I beg to differ. The main issue is with the quality of the chicken..it tastes dry and old like it was left over from a previous day. Country Delight was always an awesome feed at one time. Had not had it in a long time But I can tell you this I will not ever Spend my money on it ever again Very poor quality food. Borderline gross. read more

Great people and good food.A bit of a long wait time but worth it.meets the costumers needs.

Although I don't have this often, my favourite is the fried chicken and fries with dressing and gravy. The restaurant is a favourite of many in the area and I love the made-to-order menu. Everything is made fresh so wait times are a little longer than other fast food joints. But it's well worth the wait! read more

Country Delight is one of the best places in town but be prepared to wait as everything is cooked to order and homemade. Known for their fried chicken & dressing & gravy it is well worth the 45 min wait. You will never go when it isn't busy so don't even try. There is ample parking & the prices are reasonable. The chicken tastes a lot better than the local fried food chicken chains try it & you'll see! read more

I don't know what it is about this place that locals think is good. The food is usually saturated in grease and the wait time to get your food is ridiculously long for no good reason. The food for the most part is hit or miss. Once you get over the fact that this is a grease pit, the fries are generally alright providing the cook didn't rush your order. The chicken wings, grey and beige in appearance, are not something I would ever eat again in my lifetime. In fact I threw them away to the seagulls. The washroom is absolutely disgusting! The smell is overwhelming and I'd sooner use a portable outhouse than their washroom! The front staff are not pleasant by any means. They have hired a nice younger blond girl who appears to be consistent in being friendly unlike the other young cashier who seems to think she's the best thing since sliced bread! Honey, you are NOT as hot as you think you are! I will only go in for fries with my co workers and ONLY if we have a lot of time to kill because the wait time, regardless of when you go in, is always very long and slow. I would also suggest they have more selection in pop as they only carry Coke products which I don't care for at all. The look and feel inside the restaurant is sorely outdated and it shows its age terribly. The tables and chairs are very tight for tall people. This place needs a good shake up and a change in attitude if they really want to tap into the potential that exists within. The food although greasy, isn't too bad but as I said earlier, it's hit or miss more often than not, it's a miss. Paying attention to the small details would go a long way. read more

My favorite place to eat when I'm home. There is nowhere here in halifax that can come close to the taste this restaurant offers in every meal. I need the chicken and gravy recipe read more

What a disappointment this place is! I've heard the horror stories of the long waiting times but chalked it up to impatience. Turns out, the horrors were true. When you call a simple order for a small french fries from 10 minutes away, you'd figure they'd be ready and waiting for you once you arrive right? Not at this place! I was told it would be 5 minutes when I called the order in. When I got there exactly 8 minutes later (trust me, I'm obsessed with timing) I waited another 7 minutes for someone to come out the back of the kitchen area. She came out, took the order of the person ahead of me in the line up and went back to the kitchen for another 3 minutes. She finally came back out and I told her m name and order. She went to the back again and after a minute came out and started ringing my order in. It was then I remembered others saying they got sucked in to wait even longer when they paid for their order and nothing was even ready. So with that I asked how much longer and she told me "at least 20 minutes." I said thank you but you can cancel that order as it'll already be well over 30 minutes for a small fry and I am not waiting any longer. Another huge pet-peeve I have in this day and age of selection is the lack of soft drink selections at Country Delight. All they carry are Coca-Cola products. I detest Coke with a passion as do a lot of people I know. They say you can judge the cleanliness of a kitchen by the cleanliness of their washrooms and if that is the case, and more often than not, that is true, their kitchen must be horrible! Unflushed toilets, liquid (use your imagination) all over the floor by the lone toilet bowl. DISGUSTING! A friendly and warm counter staff also wouldn't hurt rather than a miserable looking bingo player who looks like you just interrupted the latest town gossip would also go a long way. Remember, we are the customers that keep you open, not the other way around! I have never returned to that place and I've heard others have also refused to return based on similar experiences. read more
