I would not recommend this bank to any elderly person. My elderly mother has an IRA account…read moreinvested in CD's there. She had certain documents drafted by a very reputable local law firm that deal with my being able to manage her affairs in the event of Incapacity or death (financial Power of Attorney, Revocable Trust, Will etc) She now is incapacitated with dimentia and residing in a memory care unit in Florida. The bank will not honor the financial POA and allow me to update the address on record to Florida because we are selling her house in Western Mass, nor will they provide any statements or allow the transfer to a larger institution with Florida branches. I have no issues using the POA with other banks and opening the new IRA account to which these funds will be transferred. Now I have to incur significant legal costs to be able to manage these as my mother had intended.
