I will no longer purchase products from any of these stores. I will go to anyone else. I bought a pipe less than 3 days ago and the hole in the bowl blew out. And no refund. I spend a lot of money and now I won't and make sure I tell everyone I know not to shop here. Not even expensive pipe but nope. Ridiculous that I'm responsible for something that clearly was a defect. All I did was put a toothpick through the hole and it busted. Now I have nothing. IF YOURE BLACK YOUVE BEEN WARNED. I've been here on several occasions and the little guy with the bandana tied around his mouth (like that's a real mask that seals his whole face) I don't know his name but today was the first and ONLY day I was asked for my ID. I presented a debit card and he asked me for my ID. For what? Any other smoke shop I have ever been to (this one included) I have never been asked to show my ID. The last time I was here, which was like 2 weeks ago, maybe 1.5 weeks, I had no issue with the ID thing and I even used my card then. So I will not be coming back here I'm surprised they even had what I wanted because they are ALWAYS sold out of it. Today just gave me racist vibes. One of the best shops I've been to and I have definitely been to a handful. Not only do they have a rewards program but they also have some of the coolest/chillest people working here. Which is every shop, but this one has unbeatable vibes. Also, one of the few places I can buy a box of rellos and not break my bank. Went in yesterday for the first time. Place is really big with a lot of selection and reasonably priced. The only negative thing I can say is that the guy behind the counter was a little gruff with a customer. The customer asked some of the wall question that no one would ever know the answer to and the employee said something to the effect of "I don't get paid enough to keep track of things like that." Again, the customer asked an impossible question, but there's probably a better, more diplomatic answer than what the employee gave. Other than that it was a good experience. read more

I recently bought a vape pen that the store recommended. I took it home to charge it and discovered that the light indicating that the device is charging did not work. Without using it, I brought it back to the store and asked for a exchange. I was told "no refunds, no exchanges." I protested that they sold me a defective device. The manager told me that the store did not manufacture it and that I should contact the manufacturer. I said that is not how I get treated if I buy a defective device at Best Buy or another reputable retailer. He told me that "this is not Best Buy.". BEWARE. Wish I couldn't even give it a star. I placed an order on the first of October but ment to order more grinders. I called the store immediately asking if I could add more to my order cause I only ordered 2. The employee was either intoxicated or new because his response was that he didn't know what to do. I suggested that he could just cancel it and I could place another order and he said that might be the best way to fix it. 5 days pass and still no refund. I decided to call and see what the problem was, the person who answered says that it has already been refunded and its because of my bank. I think nothing of it. The next day the order gets charged to my account (Oct 6th) and I call them up to see why I got charged. Nobody apparently knows about online sales besides the manager so they were no help. When the manager finally takes the phone ( even though I was told a minute before he left for the warehouse and won't be back soon) he is aggressive and says that it was my fault that the transaction was messed up because I called and asked for more.... when I didn't think it could get any worse the manager finally authorized my refund ( a week later) but takes $10 from my order and says it was because of shipping. You can't charge someone for shipping if it is never shipped... especially if the lable hasn't even been used. I have to get frustrated and argue for my money back while I hear him and his employees laughing and talking about my situation in the background like its a joke. He says that my refund should be processed in 3-5 days. Yesterday I wake up to find the refund, but only $8 of it from my $100+ order. This is just disappointing that they would steal from me even though it was my second order this week and I ment to just order more... was looking forward to buying more from their website but not anymore if they're just scamming. read more

I came in to purchase a new down stem as a replacement for one I had broken. I didn't know the exact size so I showed the lady helping me my broken down stem and she picked out a new one for me reassuring me it was the right size. Turns out it was a half inch too big. I came back the following week to simply exchange it out for the right size and the guy behind the counter wouldn't exchange it nor was he very friendly. I definitely find this shop to be a bit overrated and too talked up, considering there's some pretty amazing shops around St. Louis, especially in The Loop. The employees at the coughing cardinal listened to all of my concerns and addressed them all and definitely improved their selection and staff. Everyone here is so friendly and very knowledgeable about all the products, and you cannot beat the prices! They are always very happy and willing to accommodate whenever I come into the store and they take the time to help me no matter how many questions I have. The manager at this location was the most unprofessional and rude person I have ever dealt with in a business establishment. I left my ID at this store a week ago and when calling them back the same manager Dickey said the ID was there. I decided to come in and pick it up today in which the manager first said it was there and went to look for it. Then when he couldn't find it he accused me of already picking it up but couldn't tell me what day I supposedly picked it up. He also told me then I probably just lost it and I should keep better track of my "shit". He also was very rude and repeatedly used profanity towards my girlfriend when she was simply asking what's going on. When I left I told them I would be contacting the police regarding them "losing" my ID so they can check the cameras. That's when sure enough the very shady employee nick Huber came running out of the store and claimed he "suddenly" found the ID after he noticed we weren't going to leave without the police responding. Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a store and for them to disrespect not only myself but my girlfriend who was only trying to help is absolutely unacceptable. I truly hope they get rid of the manager Dickey he is absolutely out of line for degrading my girlfriend with the words he used and his attitude towards me who was the person who's ID HE LOST!!! The best part is the manager dickey and the employee nick both said they were going to refuse to help me or give me a contact to the owner Derek to figure this out when I continually was trying to find a solution to this issue. Ridiculous customer service I truly think the manager isn't ok he looked to be intoxicated too so that could be why he couldn't remember anything and was confusing me with other customers. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!! Trust me I am saving you money. To begin, they are overpriced. Second, they sell BROKEN glass. Example: I recently bought a pipe there, when I got home and more inspected the pipe I found that it was cracked on the inside. I called up, they told me I could bring it back in. After wasting gas and driving back there expecting to be getting a refund or trade for something of equal or lesser value I was told that they do not do that and will not give me money or a refund. I would hate for you to waste your gas, time, and most importantly money on a shitty product, with terrible misinformed workers, with terrible attitudes and zero knowledge of products. THIS PLACE IS HORRIABLE! Service is terrible. I purchased a hookah bowl and when I got home it had a chip. It was never used and when I went to exchange it- He rudely said they do not do returns or exchanges! In other words- THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT! I have been here on several other occasions and made purchases. I will not be returning to this place of business. Not only because they do not return/exchange- but the rudeness of the employee left me absolutely speechless. I have never been treated this poorly as a customer before. I also had a co-worker with me and she was going to inquire about purchasing a Hookah and accessories to go with it- she looked at me and said there is no way I will do business here- after hearing the conversation that just happened. This place is awful! I have purchased 100s of dollars worth of vapor supplies from this store. I recently purchased a $4.98 atomizer coil, it was not until I arrived home that i noticed that the employee accidentally sold me the wrong size. I returned to the store a week later with the intention of buying several items. I mentioned that i has a return and as the "gentleman" I normally work with went to get the correct coil, a fellow that looks like Snoop Dog came around the corner and told me that i should not have bought the wrong size coil and that i should "get out the store". I looked at the employee that I normally deal with and asked him if my business was worth $4.98 and he looked mortified by his co-worker and appeared scared to say anything. THE GOOD NEWS IS I SPENT $300 ON ITEMS AT VAPE ONE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VAPE ONE. The Vape One store has a much better staff and its closer to civilization. Hopefully the Coughing Cardinal goes out of business like the rest of the stores in the shopping center it is located in. Another good reason to avoid the Coughing Cardinal is that they appear to make most of their money selling Drug Paraphernalia to high school kids. I saw several kids pull up and one would run in to buy either synthetic urine or one hitters.
