I inquired about if they were organic bc there is a sign that says hormone free etc, she just blandly said no bc they give their cows grain, and that was the end of that. They have good products but it's hard to support local farms when the people working there seem to not give a shit about the people walking in the door. Number one rule of sales: sell the company, sell yourself, sell the product. She didn't do any of these things. The eggnog is pretty good, really thick, I like it. But they could work on their enthusiasm for their customers, and customer service hell even a smile would have been nice.

When we got to the orchard there were no colored markings. We had no idea what we were picking. Found them to be very expensive compared to larger orchards. They do not take debit/credit cards, only cash or check. It would be nice if they offered some transportation to and from the orchard. The distance and the terrain is difficult to walk when you have a disability that makes walking painful. Will I go back, depends on improvements they make.

We stumbled upon Charlton Orchards. We went into the store and each paid for a bushel of apples. Then we headed out past the farm and ventured into rows and rows of apple bushes to start picking. For me being a Floridian, I found this to be a lot of fun! It was a perfect September fall day and just walking around the farm, looking for the best looking apples, was a great change of pace. We spent about an hour roaming around and filling up our baskets. We even walked past a herd of friendly cows and offered them some of our fruit, which they happily accepted! Before leaving we bought some homemade apple cider for the road, which was absolutely fresh and delicious. For me being sort of a fish out of water visiting the New England area, I genuinely enjoyed my time at Charlton Orchards. Soaking up the quaint and quiet atmosphere of farmland was just what I needed to complete my Massachusetts getaway!

They do have parking available but if it is full, park on the side of the street. The price is extremely reasonably for the quality of tree that you're getting. You can tag a tree to pick up at another time, buy a precut tree, or explore and cut your own. We walked around and cut our own tree, which was a great experience. You pay by the foot and it is cash or check only. They also sold wreaths, jams, and other things to get your household ready for the holidays. The people who worked there were extremely kind and helpful!

The trees were not coded for pricing so we figured the one we had would be reasonable enough but it was $65! Yikes! Fresh high quality produce and an amazing selection for such a small place. If they don't have it you don't want it. We've all grown up on mediocre fruits and vegetables because supermarkets buy it out of season and ship stuff in. Fruit for example is never benefited from being refrigerated and it retards the growth period making a mediocre product. Give this place a try, not only is it delicious, the prices are better than supermarkets. I'm here at least twice a week.
