It's now got to the stage where I nearly always just go straight here when I'm passing through town as it's a nice stop-off point that's easy to get to without having to trawl the dreary main street looking for somewhere open. Their coffee isn't bad, and the food - although basic - is well presented and served. I usually end up with a soup and toastie deal with a coffee, and it's pretty reasonably priced too. Next to the cafe is a small gift shop selling maps, cards and Scottish souvenirs that are just a shade above the usual tourist tat; and of course there is always the main Nevisport shop downstairs if you are in need of some outdoor gear. Always worth a browse, even if I tend to find most of that branded outdoor wear somewhat outside of my budget range. On this particular visit, I was able to bag a couple of bargains from their clearance rail, so I was well pleased.

Downstairs is another matter as it is a very good outdoors shop selling serious equipment. The big brands such as North Face and Scarpa are all here and the prices reflect this, but you could do a lot worse as the staff are very knowledgeable and are mostly enthusiasts themselves. They sell boots, coats, sunglasses, winter equipment in season and always have a varied selection of high quality climbing gear.

Passed this store which looked interesting since we were looking for some nice walking / hiking shoes for my wife and me. Staff was really friendly, showed us the different kinds of gear. Found two pair of really good quality hiking shoes for just 40£ each. Used them now back home a bunch of times and we are really happy with the quality. Recommended!

The cafe is 5 minutes outside the town with means its currently quite quiet. It's clean and confortable with a mix of tables and sofas They do good coffee and a mix of cakes and light meals (soup and sandwitches etc). Free papers and friendly staff and free Wi-Fi make this a nice place to stop. Definately a good change from the busier places cloaser to the center of town
