I like Dr. Morlino and Dr.Traylor and Reger . We've seen Dr. Morlino for a long time. She's very good and her bedside manner is great.

After taking my senior cat to our…read moreregular vet, I was told he would need extensive dental extractions that could cost anywhere from $3,000-$4,000. While researching options, I somehow found myself on Helping Hands' website, and I'm so glad I did. Their pricing was straightforward and transparent, with the flat fee including blood work and everything else needed for the procedure. When I arrived, the intake process took about 30 minutes, and the staff carefully walked me through exactly what they were going to do. They told me I could pick my cat up around 5 PM, which gave me the rest of the day to explore Richmond. While waiting, I grabbed breakfast at The Fancy Biscuit, walked around Virginia Commonwealth University, did the canal walk, learned about the history of the bridge the Confederates destroyed while retreating from Union forces, and even stopped by a brewery with an amazing outdoor area. Richmond ended up being a really great day trip. When I picked my cat up, they told me he did great. He did end up needing many teeth removed, but I could immediately tell he had been well cared for. We're now two days post-op and he's already eating again. They also sent us home with all the medication he needed. This place is absolutely amazing. Affordable, compassionate, organized, and clearly staffed by people who genuinely care about animals.

Thanks you from the bottom of my heart Dr. Kristen for the great job you did with my Fur Baby and for taking the time to explain the process and for answering all of my questions! I recommend Helping Hands for their professional, courteous and super kind service!

My fiancé's family has taken all of their pets here since they've opened and have loved this spot…read more We just adopted a sweet orange cat this past year and wanted to take him to his first vet check-up. My fiancé had an easy time setting up an appointment on the phone. They even sent a text reminder about the appointment the week of. We decided to go together since this was our first cat in adulthood. The veterinary nurse was beyond kind, complimenting Prosciutto (our cat). She was super gentle and tested to see if he liked Churu (a squeezable cat treat) for the appointment. When she was done weighing him, we waited probably less than five minutes before Dr. Sara De Wet came in. Dr. Sara was incredible. Her bedside manner was beyond amazing. She took the time to educate us about our cat, any future health concerns that could arise, and to answer my plethora of questions. She put on "cat music" (we learned that vet's proved that classical music in vet settings can calm a cat) to help him with his nerves. She complimented him in the cutest ways for being brave and food motivated. He was obviously a bit on edge in an unfamiliar setting, but Dr. Sara was so gentle she made the process as easy as she could. He had a regular check-up and got two vaccines. I highly recommend taking your pets to Scott's Addition Animal Hospital.

Everything escalated to the point that my dogs could not be left alone in my place as they would hurt each other. Four broken crates and damaged doors later, I came here. They said that no one is allowed to bring a dog in as they won't accept them. I tell them the bottom line is I cannot ensure for either of them safety. I was told the intake process can take months, and to call the helpline. So then I asked who is on the helpline. No one, I was told. I can leave a voicemail. Shelters are the last resort and with empty kennels, I was turned away despite a desperate, violent situation. And please "business manager" do not comment on my review. It is so clear none of you care about the community and you are paid to keep up a facade. It is manipulative and disgusting how you are dismissing real concerns that cause animals and people to suffer for an organization which could easily take the feedback to improve instead.

They're more than happy to prescribe meds to calm your anxious pet down before visits which is 100% necessary in my case. They gave us a great referral when my cat was diagnosed with a heart murmur. They listen, give you a bunch of options, and also give their personal experience with their own pets. I often use that as a gauge of what tests I want to run and I never feel like they're just trying to get money out of me. I'm writing this because of the amount of time the staff spent with my cat today. He didn't have his usual calming meds and was very vocal about how little he wanted to be there. They gave us so much grace and extra time to make sure we could do as much of the exam in office as possible. And when they needed a couple more things but my cat was too stressed there, they set me up with everything I needed to take samples at home and bring back to them for testing (also gave me the option of getting more calming meds and bringing my cat back when he was calmer). They're (seemingly!) happy to explain things thoroughly and I greatly appreciate that.

Their first visit was for Shrimp & Grits final kitten visit aka their last round of shots plus a little treatment for a nasty ear infection Shrimp was fighting. The second visit was for a minor health issue with Shrimp. The vet gave me very thorough information and treatment for her. I believe this visit cost around ~$200, including urinalysis and other tests. Our most recent visit was for grooming for Grits. I've never had a long haired animal before and I was so thankful for the time Debbie took to explain how I could best maintain his coat and comfort! This visit, with a first time grooming discount, was $35. The receptionists and assistants are always incredibly kind & seem to really love animals.
