She then looked at my Dad with that awful face and said what do you want and just blatantly disregarded me and me asking her if she was ok . This was my first time this year coming in , if I had brought a guest with me I would've been so embarrassed. I don't feel that paying members or guest of paying members should be treated like this . Or am I missing something? It was steak dinner night. My Dad and I had already ate so we just came in for a cocktail. The gentleman that was making the steaks came out and greeted us and was very nice and asked if we would like dinner. That was the only pleasant experience we had. As we were leaving, a lady went to go pick up our drink glasses, which I'm sure she was a volunteer but still I believe she should be nice and not rude. I said I'm going to take the last sip of my drink, she said OK and then you can take it to the bar. I was a bit taken back by her rudeness, saying that in a rude way with the ugly look on her face as well. I took the last sip looked at the bar It was super crowded. There wasn't a place for me to fit in so I said I'm sorry it's too busy at the bar. I set it back down on the table and she gave me a look that could kill. I don't know if I can bring a guest to this place because they're going to be treated like this? I think if you were working or a volunteer you should be nice to the members I don't know what's going on here, Am I missing something? Can somebody please explain this to me?

The ball room has a bay view, the patio seating for dinner is unique. We have friends who love to have a little supper here after a good days sail. We were lucky enough that they asked us to join them. They are veterans, and we are grateful for their service. The food is sturdy and flavorful and traditional. The Patty Melt was delicious as were the fries. They have Coors light on tap. I have always wanted to try this spot and I am happy I finally have! I hope I get to celebrate my friends again soon.

They have a nice banquet hall that is also open to the public for weddings, receptions, and other events. The outside patio is a serene and beautiful dining area overlooking the water. Everyone was very friendly and nice. *Calamari 5/5 - The calamari was nicely seasoned, crispy on the outside, and meaty on the inside. The portion was generous. The marinara sauce also had a nice spicy kick. *Filet Mignon 3/5 - This came with filet mignon, mushrooms, fries, and coleslaw. The sauce was really sweet. I prefer my steak to be more on the savory side, so I didn't really like this dish. The fries were good. *Clam Chowder 4.5/5 - You know how in some clam chowders, the clams are so tiny you can't tell if they're really there or if they're just potato pieces? Well, not these. The clams were meaty and succulent. The chowder was overall very good, just a bit salty for me.

They have porta potties and hand washing stations in almost every area- You get free wagon rides with your ticket which was nice and corn maze is free, but small. It's a cute vibe but if you're older on a date plan it for up to two hours- it's. Really small. If you have little there is a large sand pit that is also free. They do offer a military discount and it is advised to purchase a parking pass. I got there around 4:40 and left pretty much before 6:30. Go early to avoid the crowds. All in all it's good for what it is especially in oc. But I wouldn't go again.

The interior was…read morenicely decorated, the atmosphere was curated well, and the staff had general organization down. The drinks here were great as well! They were sweet and tasted like juice. The bartender was also good at putting on a show while mixing the drinks. In the venue, there was a free photo booth for digital photos which was nice. The music played wasn't my style (not the biggest Weeknd fan), so there was an outdoor area to get fresh air and relax at. Overall, a solid night club and would come back here if there were events with music that I like.

I've always enjoyed going to the Yost Theater, which is why this experience was so disappointing…read more My friends and I reserved tables this year for the Super Bowl and the Mexico vs. South Korea game, and we had such a great time at both events that we decided to come back for Mexico vs. England. Unfortunately, this experience was completely different. The venue was extremely overcrowded, people were constantly standing in front of our table, and we could barely see the screen even though we paid for reserved seating. Security did absolutely nothing to control the crowd. Several security guards were on their phones, vaping, and even blocking our view themselves. When we tried speaking to someone who appeared to be a manager or person in charge, he offered no solution. He then approached my boyfriend and randomly asked what he did for a living, which had absolutely nothing to do with the issue. After my boyfriend answered, the man said something along the lines of, "So you know you can't control everything." Instead of making unnecessary comments, he should have done his job and controlled the overcrowding and security issues inside the venue. We spent good money on a table and expected to actually be able to watch the game. The way the situation was handled was dismissive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. It's especially disappointing because our previous experiences were so good, but after this, we will seriously reconsider coming back.

For the past two years, Jen and I have come to the OC Fair together and I think we have found out…read morehow to make this a great experience. We came on the last Saturday of the season and was told it was the best weather they had all summer. For transportation, we took the OC Fair Express from Laguna Hills, which cost us each 75 cents each going there and again coming back. No hassle to pay or fight for parking or deal with traffic. We came early before noon and took advantage of all the $5 tastes. I checked my credit card the following day and we tried about 10. We also buy the refillable soda cup. It's still a bit pricey, but a little savings softens the blow. We loved the interactive displays in the VHS exhibit. Jen did her best Austin Powers and then we recreated Jack and Rose on the bow of the Titanic. We also checked out the art contests and noticed a friend from high school won a blue ribbon in photography. We love watching the Pig Races. Even though it's the same show each year, it's a nice break from walking and eating. Last year I won her a stuffed animal and while I would have loved to win a giant sloth this year, the games were just too tough. I did buy her a stuffed pig toy outside of the pig races for a consolation prize. We tried one ride last year, but passed this year. Instead, we stopped by Planet Popcorn and bought a sample box to take home with us. For 2 of us it was around $150 and that included everything from tickets, transportation, food and souveniers. For us, this is now an annual event that has become a fun adventure.

OC Fairgrounds hosts a ton of events, but our favorite is the annual OC Fair! Yes, it can get…read moreexpensive, but I'll give you the lowdown on how to save some time, money, and sanity. Parking: Parking at the fairgrounds is $15, but it's not guaranteed to be available. The lot fills up early, and once it does, they put out the cones; they'll remove the cones when a few spaces become vacant. Your best bet is Orange Coast College, where parking is $10 via QR code at the parking lots. It's only about a block away on Fairview. I wish they'd bring back the Experian shuttle. Wear comfortable shoes: You will definitely get your steps in at the OC Fair! Heels are a hard 'no' unless you enjoy crying on the walk back to your car. Flip-flops are okay, but be prepared for your pretty exposed feet to be pretty dirty by the end of the day. This year, the lines to enter the gates moved much quicker. Have your e-tickets ready to go. Most things are cashless--bars, food trucks, games, etc.--but I'd still bring some cash just in case. ATMs are available on the property. Entertainment: Concerts and shows are held at the Pacific Amphitheater and The Hangar. There's plenty of space outside The Hangar to enjoy the show, so you don't necessarily have to spend extra money on a ticket. There are also several smaller stages scattered throughout the fairgrounds with live entertainment. Food: Food vendors are everywhere, with options ranging from Wahlburgers and Hawaiian food to donuts, Thrifty ice cream, BBQ, and more. We always get the Impossible Burger from Wahlburgers. You can't go wrong with it, but the price is definitely steep. And you have to top off the fair experience with a Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream from the famous Thrifty's! Games: Want to win a prize for your loved one? Some games take skill, while others are pure luck. I'd avoid the basketball game where you have to make two shots in a row...unless you're a pro. The water gun games are fun with a group, especially when everyone is competing for a medium plushie. I also enjoy the games where you throw a ball to break a plate or bottle. And then there's the elite prize, which is only allowed once per fair. If you're curious, message me. Tickets for games and rides can be purchased at the booths or online. Shopping & attractions: I'd definitely recommend checking out the free art installations and the indoor shopping/hobby areas. We found a new vendor this year, The House of Halloween, with vintage-looking umbrellas, a Predator leather mask, Halloween-themed bags, and other fun stuff. My go-to shop every year is Nifty Fifty, which has book-like purses and bags, cool metal signs, and fun '50s memorabilia. Face painting is another fair favorite, but beware--the lines can get pretty long. And don't forget to visit the farm animals! There was even some friendly animal racing happening this year. Drinks: A few of the bar areas had live music and dancing. Drinks are pricey, and you'll need to have your ID checked before they give you a bracelet that allows you to purchase alcohol. Save some money: The OC Fair has some pretty good deals during the week that can help cut down the cost of food and drinks, so check those out before you go. If you want to avoid spending money on food altogether, get your hand stamped before exiting and bring a cooler to keep in your car with sandwiches and water. That way, you can take a food break without having to buy another overpriced fair meal. Final tips: Avoid the last weekend of the OC Fair if you can. Traffic on the streets and inside the fairgrounds can be A LOT. If you're arriving during the day, bring sunblock, sunglasses, and a hat. There are lockers available near the entrances, although I'd personally just bring a backpack to hold everything you need. The OC Fair may not be the cheapest day out, but with a little planning, you can have a great time without completely emptying your wallet.
