Not to be confused with Co**-Cutters, which are people who derive pleasure or satisfaction or vengeance from the mutilation or severing or castration of the male member. But anyway. I was considering getting my haircut when I was up in Binghamton rather than down in New York City, so I might look spiffy when I arrived. Prices here are excellent but reviews are mixed. Honestly from my judgment, the good ones are fake and the bad ones are fake, so I didn't know what to make of it - so I decided not to, but they were friendly enough when I was in here asking about stuff. First time , 4 people 4 bad haircuts by 3 stylists. I literally have never had my hair this short in 20 years. SPLIT ENDS and clean it up. Also 5 bucks to dry my hair. Holy smokes, were in New York where it's cold here all the time. You should be drying everyone and always tell the customer if there's a fee. People don't like surprises. My husband's hair is gone. He literally said don't cut the back and that's the first thing she did. Also 2 of us were never offered the shampoo which is supposed to come with the cut. This is why we won't be back. read more

My boys were beginning to resemble wooly mammoths, so off to a salon we go! The place is clean, quick, and relatively quiet. All good. I want to talk about one stylist in particular, though. My youngest son has sensory problems, and getting his hair done can be really hard with him. This stylist tho, Lizzy Paige, handled him like a pro. She talked softly, told him when things would make noise, and didn't speak to him as though he were a toddler or a puppy (WHICH IS FLIPPING IMPORTANT). All my praise to her. I may end up coming back with him just so that she can handle his little mane. I don't have words to say how relieved I am that she made is so, so smooth and easy. Price point is decent, the staff is very friendly, and it's definitely worth letting them play around with your head fluff. read more

Morgan did a fantastic job on ladies cut, easily saved $40 off salon pricing for same quality. The other stylist didn't do what was asked for the kids cut. Guess it is hit or miss depending on the stylist. All the mens cuts were good! read more

Why have store hours if you're not going to cut hair up until that time? I walked in on 2 women curling their hair at about 4:53pm on a Saturday. Yes, I know I'm cutting it close, but the OPEN sign is still lit up, the walk-ins welcome A frame is still on the sidewalk and the door is unlocked. Told them I was sorry for coming in close to the buzzer, even explained how easy my hair is (#1 on the sides, 4 on top, keep the front a little longer), even offered to help them curl their hair (sometimes sarcasm works for me). I'm in from out of town for the week visiting my family before my mothers heart surgery (not that it should matter) and just wanted to get a last minute cut. I'd blame the laziness on the youth, but the older woman sitting in her chair curling her hair was just as un accommodating and unpleasant. Thank goodness we don't have to deal with each other. I went in to get my hair cut and styled. As soon as I sat down, I felt comfortable and the stylist I had, Kyle, did a great job at making me comfortable and managing my hair. They recommended some steps I could take to get closer to how I want my hair to look, and were overall very helpful and kind. This was the worst haircut I've ever had. Never had a problem at the other locations. First the online booking didn't put my appointment in their book even though I got a confirmation email and the one girl gave me an attitude like it was my fault somehow. Then the other girl cut my hair and it was disastrous. Not only did she cut way more than I asked but she cut my bangs crooked and so short I couldn't even fix them when I got home. My hair is curly so I just left with it wet as it was pouring the day and didn't realize the damage until I got home and styled it. I literally cried for an hour after I saw how bad it was. Don't ever go here unless you want to wear a hat for the next month. It was that bad, of I could give it negative stars I would. read more

It was a calm afternoon when I decided to have my hair cut at Cost Cutter in UClub, which I chose from almost 100 barbershops/hair saloons in Binghamton. I didn't have an appointment I just walked in and the black-dressed, cute-looking girl in entrance told me to come back in 20 minutes. I said ok and went back into my car and started to wait. When I came back to saloon, another girl told me that there was no appointment for my name. When I finally got to speak to the girl who told me to come back in 20 minutes, it had already been 45 minutes. (So, I have waited for 20 minutes in the car and an additional 25 minutes in the place.) After all this time, I started to become angry as an unsatisfied and unhappy customer whose 45 minutes was wasted carelessly. And, I asked her when she can take me. Here the best answer comes... "Can you wait for one more person or you want to make another appointment for a later day?" Shit... No way again... DEFINITELY THE WORST BARBER SHOP EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE EVER HAD! read more

I'm a student from Japan, so I have no knowledge in the terminology used in salons, but the person who cut my hair showed me no ''that awkward looks'' I used to see back in California. Was a little skeptical going in because I'm a guy and usually go to barbers but I needed a haircut desperately so I tried cost cutters. I called ahead so I had no wait and the girl Brittney gave me a really nice cut, even edged around the ears and back of the neck which salons sometimes forget to do. I went in there once, must have been an "off day" for the manager of the place-who did my hair in a haphazard manner. They had a popcorn emergency in the microwave-which stunk out the place. It took them too long to decide to open the door. I went outside to stop my eyes from stinging. Back to the manager and her coloring "technique". She put it on in a hurry and didn't seem to care about coloring my forehead as well. I assumed I could help myself to a tissue or 3 or 4 to wipe it out of my eyes too. Nice girl but as I said, it must have been a bad day. I think, at the very least, making an effort to make the client comfortable and extending the basic courtesies when applying colorant is not too much to expect. read more
